Don't think he will, even if Death is put under "Shrek" you have Shrek himself, Puss and Death as the definite top 3
I'd be more worried that hype has died and there isn't enough for Death to get squeezed in the way that Bad Guys was squeezed out for coming out months before the tournament (Puss will be coming up closer to a year by the time Mr /co/ happens)

Puss has a good chance of making it in though I would still suggest campaigning for him in qualifiers just to be safe. I don't know about making elite eight though.
>>42915
She made it to round 3 on her first run needing to be taken out by the eventual third placer, Hilda with a 44th seed then got 11th seed the following year losing round 2 to Mothra. These performances are not great, but not horrible either. Beating Alex alone on a first run is admirable. She has an audience.
>>42923
Farquaad will be in the way. I'm hoping the Farquaad anon returns this year.

Now I'd like to talk about Hank. He is a strong contender making it to round 4, semi-finals, and finals consecutively ignoring the elite eight rule. He now has to worry this year. While spitevoting isn't nearly as bad in Mr., it still happens. Hank having such strong runs and on top of that being a runner-up will definitely hurt him. Not only that, there is also the Propane issue. People were blaming Hank for that and already saying they weren't going to vote for him after that. Hank's got a lot of baggage this year and it makes me wonder how his run will be.

>She made it to round 3 on her first run needing to be taken out by the eventual third placer
Runs from 2021 shouldn't hold weight tbqh. That year was fucked.
And yeah I hope Hank can win. He's been a main since year one, and he'd be very a fitting for Mr. /co/. There's a chance 2nd place curse meta will reverse and propane drama is a nothingburger. If it does become an issue then the tranny ENA stuff is probably gonna remain an issue the year after too.
>>42928
It was still more fucked bracket-wise. The whole thing felt like a mess of spite and subversion for the sake of it. The E8 was by far the weakest ever, across either board.

The Propane issue doesn't have to be a problem for Hank: it's important to remember Courage still made it to third place last year without much trouble in spite of the whole Shirley fiasco. Personally I'm all for an elite character like Hank to finally win a Mr. /co/lympus even if another midcard victory would still be welcome.

The difference is people were claiming Propane was being used as a vote for Hank as he couldn't run that year and directly blaming him. Meanwhile Courage fans themselves were calling Shirley a literal who.

Not only Courage, Eustace was just one round away of entering the elite too. It's crazy how literally four Courage characters have made it to the elite at least once. Granted, Muriel was being carried by her va's passing and Shirley was a fiasco but still. I sometimes wonder if Shirley was genuinely doing well but the riggers just focused on her for some retarded reason. Maybe if he's pushed enough even Katz would make elite 8.

I don’t know why puss in particular gets so much praise, like I said I thought it was great, but people act like it’s the best movie of all time. I remember threads of anons seething at reviews that gave it an 8 because that’s too low. Then it didn’t get the Oscar so they’ve been angry at del toro for winning ever since, as if they believe they were owed it for some reason.

And they spammed the damn movie everywhere for like 8 months straight, it was ridiculous the amount of spam it had literally everywhere. Anyone who had any sort of criticism would get spammed with screencaps of the rotten tomatoes score as the sole argument.

It’s very much one of those “like the thing hate the fans” things for me.

No offense but that's putting too much focus on someone who could be just one fag caring way too much about some reviews. Also I remember both Del Toro and Pussfags were celebrating together the winner wasn't Turning Red. Come to think of it, this could be even used for campaign potential since in the movie Jack Horner loses to Pinocchio too.

She rarely gets brought up in discussions and while I actually don't know much about her, her tournament history is pretty interesting.
>was nominated before her series was even named in 2019 and failed to qualify with a 164th seed
>made it in 2020 with the 5th seed
>that year was when the Peruvian page that rigged for Spinel was exposed and they were supporting Emmy
>instead of trying to damage control, Emmy's own supporters voted her out in round 2
>still seeded 14th in 2021 but lost immediately by 16 votes against 113th seeded Amy Wong
>seeded much lower in 2022 at 71st but managed to beat 59th seeded Marie Kanker before losing to 6th seeded Judy Hopps in round 2 though that whole year was pretty rigged so this run might not count
>an OC machine having the 4th most (archived) OC behind Fang, Grievous, and Tyr'ahnee and above Kronk
It's an example of a character being rigged against their actual supporters will and not deserving the flak that comes from it. I wonder if it's actually possibly to make a recovery from it.

most boring powerhouses are from kid’s shows a large chunk of /co/ watched when they were younger. I think some of the resentment comes from the idea that these characters coast by on nostalgia. KOTH doesn’t really fit that description. it’s nostalgic by this point but it’s not childhood nostalgia and the show is genuinely good. I think Hank still has a chance, and if he doesn’t, someone else from the show does. probably Dale.

For /co/ they good standing because of their character, but for my /v/ picks they're nothing but John X game titles because I don't play much games and don't like rpgs nor visual novels as much (nothing story heavy). Now it’s time to discuss a character some of you have probably never heard of unless you’re into the history of animation but is a legacy character that is flip the frog, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s first animated star from the co-creator of Mickey Mouse Ub iwerk’s. He never caught on like Mickey but has the distinction of having some of the first cinecolor shorts, some of his shorts are also surprisingly very adult and absolutely not for children(very pre-code era films). Very soon he’s getting a complete series restoration years in the making from thunderbean which has brought out some incredible 4K restoration efforts to forgotten early 20th century cartoons, something that animation historian jerry beck has praised. To coincide this I am considering nominating him to participate this year. What do you guys think?

I could maybe give Silver Round 4, but generally series and franchises do better than one-off movies, and by a few rounds in you're probably going to face a character from something really popular. Silver is from a single movie and it's unclear how many voters have actually seen it. Even if it's a sizable number, he'll be against characters from things that also have large viewerships and are generally more discussed outside a tournament context. I imagine Silver's die-hard base is mostly hardcore tournament followers, with enough general appeal to get him a few rounds in but will turn when the last of the weak competitors are weeded out. Campaigning was enough to push Zorak over the edge, but Zorak was also part of a couple popular series and is associated with a fondly remembered era of AS. I just don't see Silver having the raw popularity.

>has tons of OC made for and against him

It's precisely for this reason I think Battler is guaranteed to win a tournament eventually. He's become too ingrained within the tournament meta, and while you can argue the TFR jobber meme is a double-edged sword at best, it sure helps him remain alive in the public consciousness and keep his underdog reputation. Sure, his tournament followers are annoying, but this is King of /v/, not Mr. /co/.

Mr. /co/ tends to be won by whoever ends up making the best case for their character, but winning King of /v/ is a combination of having the most vocal fans and whoever the threads thinks will make for a more entertaining winner, which usually translates to lots of memes.

One thing people usually aren’t aware of but should realize is when people are shitting on “DTVA” they aren’t referring to all DTVA shows as a whole. Shows like Kim Possible, Phineas and Ferb, Wander among others have done historically well
It’s the specific subset of 2010s-2020s “lore” shows that includes Gravity Falls, Star Vs, and any of the new brown girl shows. Those are known to have insanely obnoxious and cancerous fanbases almost entirely of pedo coomers and majorty of people hate them. Any pre-2000s DTVA show or character is not affected by that
In her case, no one hates Pepper Ann but not many really think about her or have her as a favorite
