King /v/ 2022 was such a massive fucking letdown it is goddamn tragic comparing it to 2021. Literally everyone knew who was going to win and people had the gall to strategically vote for their characters so jack off can happen.

Literally Jack Frost managed to get into second place through a meme.

>For some just having representation is enough so if 2 franchises like that get combined they wouldn't have to make their own separate teams and would only take up 1 spot instead of 2.
OK, but again this is missing my point. My point being that the people who vote are more drawn to teams with characters from the same franchise than crossover teams. That one spot doesn't mean anything when people don't vote for that crossover team. You don't decide who gets into the bracket.
>Look at the teams who didn't qualify and decide for yourself whether it would be worth to have them around or not.
No, it wouldn't be worth it no matter what teams they are. If every team got in then that would mess up the bracket, especially if the amount of teams is an odd number.

Sorry for reposting it's just I didn't notice the afterparty post. Well. I saw the results and I'm happy to hear the news! To the FAITH anon, during this day I will purchase FAITH on Steam and play it since I've been wanting to give it a try for a while, your campaign and writing were amazing and I will do my best to draw John Ward and Father Garcia for king, I did practice with the tiles earlier. I've had a fascination for rotoscope projects. I want to thank everyone for the support and the real thing is, I'm not of so many ideas and that's part of the reason why you see me here making requests so people can share their ideas and I could make them reality. It's been a plreasure for me helping them become true. I also apologize if I didn't talk as Chica that much it's just Roxy is more talkative in-game. I also apologize for not knowing a way to port Blender files to SFM but I will try sometime later so I can also do stuff with Umineko characters. They have plenty of material that could be work with in SFM if ported well. Once again, thank you all for everything, you're the best.
Unfortunately some severe stuff happened here at home and it's probably by April you won't see me that often. It's depressing but I will fight through it the best I can, still gonna finish the stuff I promised before we end the month

Glamgals are a good winner but I would've preferred Intellectual Rapists to win. I can't say Good Christian Boys were quite or didn't deserve to proceed, but I guess you/whoever else campaigned for them mostly just chimed in to ask about other guys' franchises and post OC, without a lot of banter. Intellectual Rapists on the other hand had constant thread presence.

When the original Fatfag raid Anne started in...2021(God they've been around a while) it was the former, but by the end of that tournament and especially starting last year it's morphed into the latter. So many of them got brought into the tournament they've become a major voting block with a lot of influence. They probably gave Betty her victory because she had way more fatart in the final round.

People saying TT2022 was worse than TT2021 is recency bias I think. TT2021 was the worst ever. It was a fuck-up the whole way through. From the inconclusive start time, lack of any prep, Temp taking several days during nominations and qualifiers and getting hijacked by more competent hosts just to get it moving, low participation, the reveal that the E8 was rigged and the prior tournament had pretty much been bullshit, the RP host reveals, Temp's return, and the botching of the finale leading to an inconclusive winner. At the time people had pretty much agreed it was even worse than ms. /co/ 2019.

NTA but I spent like 2 hours of doodling putting together the pic in the OP, watcha think of it? Razgriz in AC is a sort of "redemption" analogue, in that it's a demon who rains death until men united slay it with a sword, then, it returns as a great hero. Great paralleled in the games. Thought it'd go over well once I heard that Faith had redemption too.

I see a lot of people talking about waiting until September/October to campaign for their mains again. Well, I think now is the good time to announce, you may not have to.

No, the main tournaments are still happening whenever they are happening, I don't have influence over that. However, now that I've helped run two tournaments, I would like to try out an idea of my own. I have already talked about this some time ago on /tnt/, perhaps 1.5 anons even vaguely remember it.

I want to try running a tournament just for the heroes of /co/, and one just for the villains of /co/.

Both would be run on /tnt/ sometime later this Spring, or maybe early Summer. I figure a completely new tournament idea where a lot of board favorites can participate is a good way to pass the time during the hiatus. The tournaments will be run on /tnt/, I'm still not risking approaching the mods on IRC again.

Of course, first I want to gauge whether there is any interest for this, since it'd be pretty underwhelming to have a tournament with just 10 people participating.

And I know a lot of the people in this thread are probably from /v/. I want to note that I would potentially be open to doing the heroes/villains of /v/ as well. For now, I would like to try my hand with /co/ ones first, but if there is a lot of interest and activity from /v/ anons (considering how Co-Op's activity dwarfed Tag-Team's activity), I might reconsider and run the /v/ ones first.

Feel free to ask any questions about this idea you may have.

They were at least as bad as eachother. The RP host reveals lead to 2022 having less RP because of the two being some of the biggest rpers and due to the slower activity of /tnt/, that meant less engagement. The rigging was bad in 2021 but up until the Elite Eight, everyone was having fun. 2022 stopped being fun after round 3 and everyone was demoralized. The banning situation at the beginning was also as bad if not worse than the wait. The rigging accusations at the end of 2022 probably wouldn't have been pushed as much if 2021 wasn't a rigfest. It's not just recency bias as they were more or less connected in terribleness.

I'd be hard-pressed to think of a character who cannot be classified as a hero or villain in some capacity. If you mean mundane down-to-earth characters, most of them could probably classify as heroes. If you mean antiheroes that blur the line of morality, you could nominate them for either one. I want to avoid arbitrarily making judgments on characters' morality, so if you nominate a character and they qualify, they're good to go.
>>31065
/an/ is probably happening at some point, as it's potentially the easiest to run and we all seem to be on-board with it. Ask Coayy about /aco/ and maybe /trash/ (we also seem to disagree on how the /trash/ one should be run, I'm in favor of the off-the-wall /mlp/-style tournament decided by dubs, and Coayy wants a more traditional one). And /tv/ is a can of worms of its own.

I don't participate in the /co/ tournaments but I wouldn't mind waiting a bit for the /v/ ones if more people want to do the /co/ ones first seeing as the main /co/ tournaments happen before the main /v/ ones. Just curious on how you would handle characters that could fall into either category. For example, Dlanor is a villain in Episodes 5 and 6 of Umineko, but is a hero in Episode 8, so would she only be in one or the other or just the villain one since she spends more time doing shit with Erika and being a villain.

As I said above, it's wherever you decide to nominate them. I think it's reasonable to let the anon maining a character decide whether they should main them as a hero or a villain, and restricting it to one tourney per character helps avoid repetition.

One exception I think of is if a character is comprised of two distinct alter-egos/personas (think Jack/Chaos) of distinctly different alignments, then one could probably make the case of those different personas qualifying for different tourneys.

I also really enjoyed Hard Boiled Detectives' run if only for Harry anon's writefagging, I dearly hope the Disco Elysium reps will perform better next King along with Torres finally qualifying.

I think aside from Dracula being an OC powerhouse, it just comes down to a vocal minority of bitter anons resenting that the Belmonts "stole" their "rightfully owed" victory on the promise of a canon duel between them and Dracula thanks to some very lucky coincidences that made said matchup possible. It didn't help that Dracula's OC was practically begging for a Belmont match to happen alongside the STOP THE COUNT and the hype of the chaos stuff, to which Belmontfags woke up in the knick of time and responded with OC of their own. I specifically remember seeing a dedicated Giygasfag being angry after losing Round 3, which I suppose was the beginning of this "backlash" seemingly becoming genuine.

It sucks, but at the end of the day, that's winning and losing for you.

It's true that the Belmonts were relatively quiet when compared to other teams in the Elite 8, but to say that they had absolutely NOTHING just comes across as disingenuous and admittedly petty. Even discounting round 4, they had some good banter when replying to Dracula. Was it good enough? That depends on who you're asking, but the Belmonts certainly had their supporters, silent or not, seeing they cruised through the first few rounds. Who knows, maybe Dracula could've had his time in the limelight had the Belmontfags been silent in their match.

Even if you were to blame this on "thematic matches" caused by randomized brackets, you might as well also bitch about the Ace Attorney match in Round 3, and Philemon vs. Nyarly to a lesser extent.

Hence why I said to a lesser extent, the Philemon match was also divisive yet all of the criticism I've seen about "thematic matches" interestingly excludes the Law and Order vs. Karma (and Freeman vs. Kleiner) match. Sure, both of them had good OC that would've led up to the duel regardless, but their match came at the cost of other teams who would've stood a chance otherwise (that and Wright was up against a previous winner who are known for fucking jobbing at these side tourneys). Additionally, you can argue that Dracula similarly wasn't doing enough in terms of OC. IIRC there was just one Gmod pic from him for the round and even then he had to abide by the fact that the Belmonts "killed" Death in their own piece of Gmod OC. Of course, I can't speak for Draculafag but I felt like there was more to be done in order to tip the scales in his favor.
>>31218
I mean, you're not wrong about that opinion, seeing how they've gotten 8th place and were promptly curbstomped by the Christians. But the fact that you had to exaggerate your claims seems as though the Belmonts' placement was extremely personal to you. As I said, losing to another team sucks, trust me, I know that feeling, but the last thing you'd want is to come across as a bitter seether.

>>31238
>>31248
I thought I was explicit that there is a separate tournament for heroes and one for villains, but I guess people are having trouble believing the implication that this means 4 separate tournaments. It is indeed a decent amount of work, but not that much if done over the course of several months. I'll have to address these points in a thread I'll make soon.
>>31232
Well, it doesn't have to be a literal second personality. More like, if a character has two different states from different points in the story that are distinct from each other by alignment, they could be potentially nominated for both tournaments. For a /co/ example, it would be something like Jason Todd as Robin for heroes and Jason Todd as Red Hood for villains.
Those two states would have to at the very least be distinct in appearance and behavior, though.

If you have trouble with emulation, consult /aceg/'s emulation guide on /vg/. The Rentry with instructions has a dead PS2 BIOS link though, so you might have to procure those on your own.
Don't go ahead and expect the best game of all time, and make up your own mind about it. My personal like for the series goes a bit beyond just the gameplay, and I think it has a unique charm that's just not for everyone. Feel free to tweak the difficulty a bit if you're having a hard time too.
AC04 has AC3's flight model and feels "stiffer" than AC5/AC0, for better or worse. You can get used to it, but just try experimenting while playing to get a hang of things. It's not as complicated as a real sim, not at all, but it takes some getting used to.
Story's less talky than AC3, AC5 and AC0, but it's also the first PS2 game. Some people think it's the best because it treats the meat of the story as the memoirs of someone in the background, and by extension the memoir of your enemy when faced with you. So don't expect too much in-game mission dialogue compared to later games.
Finally, gameplay tip: you can track targets with your camera by holding the Y/Triangle button. Get used to doing that so you can maneuver while tracking. Get used to the plane names so you know that the plane you bought/picked is actually fit for the mission you just got briefed on.
Torres' technically appears in the Comberth Harbor mission, but he's only introduced as a character in AC7's DLC missions. His state of villainy is completely a result of your own actions! One of the many reasons I like these games.

It was obviously better than the most recent one. The only teams with good support most of the tournament were the winners Gwen and Loona and 8th place consisting of Xavier and ENA. The Runner-Ups Dr. Livesey and Captain Amelia were carried hard by people nostalgic for their campaigns from the recent Mr and Ms /co/s. 3rd place Spy vs Spy and 5th place Goofy and Max got some mention early but started blowing up at the end when people realized most of the teams left sucked and a lot thought Spy vs Spy would have been perfect winners as they are characters that would be almost impossible to campaign for seperately in the main tournament. The only mention of 6th Place Shuma-Gorath and Eris were people complaining about how nobody mentions them. One person all tournament was supportive of 7th place Tyr'ahnee and Mirage while everyone hated on that team for also being pretty silent.
2021 was a rigging disaster but surprisingly, we still ended up with a decent elite eight. Everyone in it were pretty active. Obviously the hosts' pet team got in it but luckily lost in Quarterfinals. There was no actual confirmed 5th to 8th place due to everything that happened. Overall solid elite eight with unfortunate circumstances to how they got there.
2020 was great all around but had a major blunder at the very end. This was in December and people noticed that two Christmas teams were in Elite Eight and thus decided to vote for a Christmas finale consisting of Jack Skellington and The Grinch vs. Klaus and Jasper. While both Christmas teams had high seeding, I will always have the feeling that most of the campaigning and roleplay everyone did was for nothing as two relatively minor teams in the grand scheme of the whole tournament could steal the finale because of the month the tournament was held in. No offense to the people that like those two teams.
I didn't participate in 2019 so I can comment on it. When it comes to the characters themselves, my favorite /tnt/ tournament elite eight is 2020. When it comes to everything, my favorite is this one. Also if you're wondering how Wallace and Gromit can be in elite eight 2 years in a row, 2019 had only 64 teams so an elite four rule was implemented for that year.

Torres' entire character actually goes back to AC2 (or rather, AC Assault Horizon Legacy, the remake) wherein he sources his first bit acclaim. But thanks to what happens in AC4, he ends up wanting to chase the heights he used to be at in AC7... That's my take on his character anyway.

Interesting seeing as the Elite Eight teams here only really had one person campaigning for them, but usually they had a pretty good thread presence. Was it just that that team was posted too infrequently?

Tyr'ahnee and Mirage eliminated one of the most supported and active team, the Plunderers (Consisting of John Silver and Ruber) which made people really fucking mad at them. I feel like most of his claims were him trying to take down the other teams with him and like I mentioned, its hard to really tell the actual voting difference when the rigging happens. Rigging sucks. It screws over both the opposing character and the rigged character in question's supporters. They are still a bad Elite Eight for being rigged but they were still enjoyable otherwise and what they have over 2022 is they didn't create a drought. It's a double-edged sword.

In Round 1 alone there was 10 or so posts about them with Zorakanon and Silveranon supporting them amd people talking about how a Livesey vs. Plunderers match could happen next round although that was due to challonge not being set up right. With a smaller tournament like Tag Team in a year where roleplay was scarce, The Plunderers definitely stood out and generated some discussion before controversy. I also don't want my mains to fight for qualifying slots or my OC attention. I don't understand the people that admit they nominate like 50 characters.
