You roll the window down and let the breeze batter your hand, then rest your arm on the door and lean in so that it blasts you in the face. The crisp morning whips at your hair and wakes you up more than the coffee did.

On the highway riding up to the overpass, you look out over the city. Other vehicles give yours a wide berth, keeping to themselves in the presence of the law and giving you a clear view of Revachol as you so intimately know it. Markings on the road rush past right before you, then further down are the reds and browns of industrial districts--some of the roofs so old that you can see moss growing on them. Through a soft haze you see the ports, and beyond that an endless stretch of sea.
