I haven’t been here in a while but from my research on the wiki the guy appears to be a user from /an/ itself. Apparently he asked where the yearly /an/lympics tournament was not knowing that it had been quietly phased out, so anon basically pulled a ‘if you want something done do it yourself’ and hosted the tournament itself. For the nominations round it took *A SINGLE MONTH* to complete the bracket, there was no qualifiers round. And from the wiki itself and quote “Contrary to previous editions, the host decided to use separate Strawpoll links for each individual match during one round isntead of a single Google Forms questionnaire per round.” The tournament already ended with the winner going to the seal. Quite frankly I was so absent that I had absolutely no idea there was another /an/lympics beyond May. So my guess is that he thought ms /co/ was a thing that could start any time not knowing much of its history & background. Hopefully he’ll get the big picture soon and settle down. Also when does ms /co/ begin exactly? If we had a time & date that would be perfect

Because mods are indifferent and noncommunicative, we don't actually know what originally set them off. We'd just come off the RP-fest of Mr. 2020, which led people to believe it was the RP that did it, but there was also the one (1) tourney villain we had back then who pulled a similar kind of shit with Tag Team 2020, but instead of trying to usurp it, he was trying to get it banned by posting the aforementioned loli/shota in the OPs, which obviously got them deleted. I think it was mostly just a changing of the guard with the jannies that let us operate mostly unmolested again. I doubt an actual mod even saw most of the threads that were deleted.

At the time most of us blamed the RPing in excess for Tag Team getting banned, and NSA seemed to lean into that explanation(though she turned out to be lying about talking to mods), but in hindsight I think it was Fusefag's spam raids eventually just getting a bunch of keywords banned. Seemingly the change of the guards that happened over time made it less bad and now after the shutdown we no longer have issues running tournaments on /co/.

Doesn't necessarily mean we will as things have changed a lot since 2020 , but the mods aren't the issue anymore thankfully we solved that and Fuse is long gone.

I'm not all that concerned if it should come to that, beyond the initial panic if something should happen. This has been going on for the better part of a decade now. I think the slowdown in overall traffic works in our benefit. Used to be, a spammer could 'hide' in between the deluge of posting that would happen, especially in the early rounds. Jenny being the oc anchor kind of just happened and it wasn't even done in 2019 it started in 2020. Meanwhile in 2018 we knew we were deciding on who'd get the judge seat and who'd get the trophy designed after them. The all stars tourney was like a fun formality since it fits the EE8 idea. I don't think there ever meant to be a real official effect to whoever won it. To say Frankie's like the ultimate /co/ champ now is also dubious, considering how close it was and the meta context. I’d say just tweak the Jenny anchor—keep it, and add each winner with it. You could also use one of the new anchors for every round, or just interchange it with diffrent ones at each thread. Otherwise, forget about it. The Jenny Anchor is iconic and easy to catch the eye for people posting art.
