The finale primarily just hurts Jax, who was already doing poorly. Star VS also had a way worse finale that retroactively hurt the entire show. TADC could only really be seen as an underwhelming conclusion in comparison. It didn’t ruin the rest of the cast who actually can go somewhere in these tournaments. The big twist was always going to be a coin flip which way it went.

The real issues are that the show is now over, plus that the finale viewership is going to be split between the leaks, theaters, and YouTube release. If it had dropped normally, the discussion could have been even bigger and given it more momentum.

I think there actually are exceptions, in the form of edgy series. And I don't mean the weak edgy of just having swears and some violence thrown around like Hazbin, but genuine edgy stuff like how Space King opens up with a joke about throwing little girls into a volcano.

There is a lot of drama and family issues in the original Five Nights at Freddy's games, but they're situated from a very sympathetic eye to the victims. At the end of the day, it's a story about children being murdered and get revenge on their assailant. It's a story of good triumphing over evil. It's not an exercise from some psychology or art majors degree 20 year-old venting their angst about their parents not understanding their "The Used" fad. It's an artist reflecting on his career, working in his experiences as a father, and using his last ditch effort to tell a darker narrative that pulls stories right from the Bible. The thing that copycats fail to understand why and how Scott was able to weaponize the trend he facilitated is his desperation for a hit was still pure. Only people pure of heart can make quality content. Of course the furries and trannies would eventually take over and be the face of his whole community, but that can't be helped when you're dealing with mascotslop. And, Scott would eventually hand reigns of making new games off to other people, which has lead to this "mystery box" vague writing that everyone has tried to copy. Hello Neighbor is the prime example of desperate game developer trying to be the next big thing.

I want them to prove me wrong I want them to make something that can maybe push us closer to getting something up there with the original Avatar: TLA, good mature storytelling for all ages that doesn't constantly patronize the shit out of you either by: A) treating you like a completely broken failure of an adult with writing that is just glorified therapy sessions for the characters, (I.E. TADC, Bojack) or B) treating you like a retarded ape person with writing that's filled to the brim with gore, sex, and heckin curse words like cunt and fuck (I.E. Invincible) those are the only two flavors of """mature""" storytelling we get in animation today.

I have zero doubt in my mind most if not all of the writing problems modern animated projects face today stems from everyone part of the project consuming nothing but media they consumed when they were kids, it stems from the industry being run by actual manchildren who refuse to put the toys and cartoons down for anything else. And don't tell me it's always been like that, because legends like Craig McCracken and Genndy Tartatovsky just to name two, were inspired by so so much more than just the bullshit they consumed when they were kids and that's how they were able to make truly forward thinking and great animated art, solidifying themselves as greats in their respective industry both in the areas of style and writing. The people currently leading the animation industry are so not those guys, artists these days legitimately cannot believe or understand how the person who made powerpuff girls could be just a regular ass dude. It doesn't make any sense, to them good artists are supposed to be mentally ill suicidal spiraling messes not normal and well adjusted men with decent amounts of life experience.

Primal is a masterclass of show don’t tell storytelling with genuine emotion and multi dimensional characters in spite of no dialog. The second and especially third seasons have the typical Genndy pacing struggles.

Primal’s original ending destroys TADC’s and it’s not even close, not that it was good, it was just waaaaaay better than the garbage glitch and goose just pushed out. And the retconned ending is actually good so it’s even less of a competition.

Primal is judged fairly, people are able to talk about its strengths and weaknesses and the consensus is that strengths outweigh the weaknesses significantly.
