Thanks guys. I'm gonna head out now, so fucking cool he took home the gold. Check out some of his stuff. Thanks for helping the Freemen win.

Hopefully Freedom Fighters/Salami can use this momemtum from second place to go far in Tag Team, they should both be able to qualify there, or if not in something else.

Good seeing this through, Neo. I would not recommend /cov/ be picked up by anyone again though.
May as well say I was the one largely pushing this into being a tourney two years ago (being the one that made the speculation thread too). I think it's a fun ideal but failed experiment. It was also never the intent that the power hour tourney be connected to it. I don't think I even aware Temp had ran it until after a /cov/ ideal started getting talked about. To me it was merely a small test for him and a prototype, hence the winning team being allowed to run in succeeding /cov/ tourneys, so calling them official /cov/ winners now to me is rather ridiculous, but I guess it's not my decision.

Honestly I kind of hate how the wiki at some point around 2023-2024 became a tool of canonization rather than documentation. Freeman only ended up in finals because people were throwing a tantrum over a team they had no problem with before and the host cucked out. But even just suggest Freeman share the win as a finale exception and then it's suddenly "it's in the rules!" and "Neo's say is final!" What a crock.

Methinks Neo wanted his little tournament to be as special as possible and arranged for a tie just to do this. Just like how "special" it was that Cia happened to win a /tv/ tournament, that will go down in history as a classic true winner (it's weird how "random /tv/ anons" kept insisting on how well CIA would be remembered as the next Jenny)

>The former will get accussed of breaking the rules and the latter will get accussed of siding with Neo, ensuring everyone gets angry
>Situation eventually burns out and people stop caring and start talking about Trios(which Neo has a hateboner for)
>Neo posts the other results, also doctored to have a tie, in the hopes it re-ignites the double winner chaos drama(if it's not changed he gets to spend months poking the mob to complain and if it is declared both won then his tournament is super special and unique and he gets his fix that way)

>We ignore Ms. /co/p, fuck it you aren't gonna get to sabotage Ms. /co/ Neo. For all we know he's the one who keeps making fake tournaments.
>We do not do the fancy double winner thing and avoid making this tournament special and fancy which would get Neo what he wants...
>....but we also don't give it a ton of attention the other way as 'infamously the worst' or anything. Just move on, no more special attention. This tournament will not get extra attention from either side.

Neo is a piece of shit and I don't want to look like I'm defending him but he only got as far as he did because people were so willing to humor him for a chance at tourneys.
The December /tv/ tournament could have been ignored but people wanted a male /tv/ tourney.
The brute force attempt at starlet that was rushed out the gate could have been ignored but people wanted a female /tv/ tourney.
The slapdash attempt at tag team on /co/ could have been ignored but people wanted duos back on the main site.
The /cov/ revival could have been ignored after we tried moving on but…you get the picture.
There were red flags in every attempt but people were willing to ignore them to chase the dragon. And now look where that got us.

I just think we should do whatever gives Neo the least attention. Which is also why I don't think the double winner idea(which Neo was probably egging on) is a good idea. It makes the tournament special and notable and will require explanation as to what happened which will give more attention to everything and as people said "will be remembered forever". Knowing what we know now and the gaps pointing to Neo's involvement in that it's a horrible idea.

Meanwhile leaving it as is, basic, boring, it's following the normal tiebreaker rules so no fancy explanation or extra wiki space required, it doesn't need to be noted on the wiki, it completely starves the tournament of notability helping it fade and it means the wiki page can be as barebones and basic as possible to avoid feeding the troll.

How about we make it the most barebones basic template wiki page possible? Header is normal and bland, infobox is normal and bland, Top 8 is normal(no double winner fancy immortalizing "/cov/ finale everyone will talk about forever" that neo wants), description is just the basic "Here's who qualified and the round results", and other than on the info cheat NO MENTIONS OF NEO OR THREAD DRAMA.

Removing the article completely punishes everyone and Neo would probably like that. Making a bland and barebones article with nothing special or notable or unique about it allows the art gallery and winner to stay up, while burying the drama and giving Neo not an ounce of attention or notability. (Not so barebones it looks out of place, but like, barebones enough it looks like the most average normal meh tournament)

That's exactly the problem now that the cards have been laid. It was perfect and people were comparing it to Ms. /co/ 2018. It was too perfect.

Because it was rigged ala Mr. /co/ 2018. And it worked, we all fell for it and gave Neo power and attention. And now that things are going wrong he wants attention in the opposite direction. He wants a big discussion and months of fighting over the winner and it being called the worst tournament ever and a fancy unique special memorable winner arrangement and a wiki page going on and on and on about all the trouble and talking about HIM HIM HIM.

Giving him attention, whether positive(Star and Starlet are special because of how well they went and how fitting the winner is) or negative (Look at how bad cov2026 was, look at the two winners, look at this paragraph about Switch , read all about ME ME ME) is a bad idea.

He probably arranged that himself as the vote to go from Salami to Freedom was sus as hell and (based on the gaps tied to when he was posting on his trip) intentionally started and egged on the "Two winners" thing and played both sides to maximize chaos no matter(if things stay as is he could reignite the drama for months and if we went for two winners suddenly this is a unique special thing that the (((anons))) supporting it said would "make the tournament super memorable forever" which would give Neo all the attention fix he needed). He only stopped when he accidentally pushed too hard with the second tie and it became obvious he was doing all this. And then we figured out he rigged CIA by finding that other side tournament.

Maybe he did initially want this tournament to be clean and successful so he could parade it around like he did for Star and Starlet, but once the fatposting started and things went downhill he said "fuck it" and starting intentionally making things worse to revel in the chaos and get negative attention. Attention whores will take what they can get

I'm not Neo, I'm not friends with Neo, I never hosted with Neo, and I'm not affiliated with Neo, as far as I know he's just a sperg who just ruined another tournament people liked. Regarding Ms. /co/p, I brought that idea up while hosting Mr. /co/ Next 128 last year (https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/150895566/#150899500), my intention was never to sabotage Ms. /co/, this was just a fun idea that I had and though people would have liked, and at the time they did. After Mr. /co/ 2nd Place All-Stars I haven't hosted anything else on /co/, those fake tournaments made there weren't hosted by me, and I never even interacted with them. I also never interacted with the /tv/ tournaments, I was thinking of nominating Brendan Filone as joke during the male one, but then I blinked and It was already over. Anyways, Neo also wasn't involved in any of the side tournaments I have hosted, those all of them were hosted by me solo, I did fucked some of the rounds by delaying them because of college but other than that, none of them were such a shitstorm like this. So fuck Neo, and everything he stands for.
