Theoretically the easiest tournament to host on 4chanAnonymous
Image:167469218173.jpg(1.15MB, 2022x1288)1674685203556990.jpg
I represent to you the King of /an/imals and Tyrant of /an/imals.

Why do I say this is the easiest tournament to be hosted? That's because there are only two types of animals we can hold a tournament for and that's for extant and extinct animals. There are no character rules, no franchise rule, mods in /an/ are the chillest of the bunch. While the board itself is slow, it can domino effect into a sprawling thread and the memes are nearly endless and metagaming genuinely blows /v/ and /co/ out of the water.

Literally the only things that are needed for this tournament is this:
>It should be an animal
>Is it Extant/Extinct for the said tournament

It's easy as that. I'm not really sure about King of /an/imals (which is for extant animals) but I am 100% sure as fuck that for Tyrant of /an/imals (which is for the extinct animals) Cambrian creatures would make it to elite eight with anomalocaris and hallucigenia being definitive heavy hitters.

makes sense, then it should be like how OP put it, one for fauna that's still around and fauna that is extinct and that's the two tournaments OR just have one for animals (both alive and extinct) and plant life

There's more than just Animals and Plants, Anon.
Personally, I don't see the reason why there would be two tournaments. I think having beings from all Kingdoms, both Extant and Extinct, in one tourney would be more interesting.

No, but funny enough there is one guy who might be a genuine schizophrenic who for at least a decade has been shouting featherfaggotry and genuine lies that he has gotten the nick name "Paleoschizo".

So when someone makes a weird thread in /an/, everyone assumes it's paleoschizo.

Yes funposting and discussing hypothetical matchups is fun, but cmon let's not kid ourselves now, a real /an/, /toy/, /m/, or whatever tournament would be actually fucking boring. Those boards get even less traction than what /mlp/ gets, and if we were to host it on /an/ more than half of the voters would be from here. If we really want to set up a board tournament I think anything in picrel would be suffice as the /tnt/ voters won't take up the majority of the audience and anything below /v/ would have plenty enough anons for thread discussion and anything below /co/ would still be able to produce a lot of oc.

run down of the /vt/ tournament that I found from last ms. /co/

>>Those of you who think the hosting was bad, allow me to teach you the horrors that were /vt/s attempt at a vtuber tournament
>host hand picks a group of 16 English vtubers, clearly biased towards one company
>people already start complaining that there were no nominations
>rigging claims partway through start this utterly bizarre thing in the polls but most are just angry X or Y girl isn't there
>final is Pikamee vs Amelia Watson
>this final is a draw with no tiebreaker
>decision is just run the match again, where it's won by Amelia Watson

>someone is mad about this tournament and calls the whole thing void
>goes away for a week and returns with the "REAL" EN vtuber tournament and says the other host was a faggot, with a plan to deal with rigging
>tournament has now been boosted to 32 EN girls and been given a losers bracket so it's double elimination
>tournament ends up with bizarre split timeline shit where when suspected rigging happens, a ghost version of the match that could have been runs at the same time, basically meaning someone has to beat two other girls in two separate matches to straighten the timeline out
>final is Gawr Gura vs Amelia Watson
>the winner is... Amelia Watson, making the second tournament a complete waste of time for the same result

I agree, I have never heard of these literal who's in my life, although I'll just chalk it up to it being a different culture. The main thing for me however is that looking through the catalog almost every thread is a general about I'm guessing the company the steamers are partnered with, which in my mind is fucking weird. There's no regular discussion threads, funposts about a particular moment, or not even a board related meme thread, you know the things you'll see on any other board.
It's actually somewhat similar to /jp/ in that regard, but at least /jp/ has touhou threads, something some anons would minimum have a vague knowledge of, and it also has the /ona/ threads to laugh at.

iirc /vt/ was always meant to be a containment board because there were so many vtuber threads on /jp/. Funnily enough, there's allowed to be one Hololive thread up on /jp/ at a time, and it always manages to get over 1000 posts. Keep in mind the bump limit on /jp/ is 300 posts.
