Why is every result such a stomp? Especially the first one, feels weird.
The Spies are "silent" but at least they're practically made for Tag-Team, the Goofy team is essentially just Max.

That's true.

It was... violent and scary, but also fun. Right! Well, see you all next years tag team!

Oh... well see you all at just Ms. /co/ then!
Way farther than I would've expected to ever get. Thanks to all the anons I rp'd with.

1. Regular Duo (they're iconic and it's probably their best shot at anything, but they've had a pretty low-energy campaign)
2. Robotnik's Robots (same here, except even less of a campaign in previous rounds + characters from a /v/ adaptation, even /co/ original characters, is a bit iffy)
3. World's Finest (I just think it'd be pretty underwhelming if the time Superman or Batman won a tournament was this instead of Mr., and their campaign is nearly nonexistent)
4. Goof Troop (I kinda like Maxxposting, but it's not really a team)

I don't know, I wish this one had more activity all around. Last year's was better.

Disagree about the campaign comments and Goof Troop is definitely a team.
But yes this is a comparatively low energy year overall. I feel like maybe it's a combo of lower post-hack activity in general and the /co/ attempt siphoning some energy. The sea crab and frollo teams at least I think were active there but didn't show up here.

I think a number of these teams would have done far better if they were in the last matchup, some of them might have even won the round if thing went right for them
Now that their run is over I think people will look back and wonder how they even made Elite 8 from this group when a number of these had great campaigns, are really solid duos on their own accord, or both. But Tag-Team has always been weird like that

Kind of expected all of them to lose. Frollo is a team that needs the campaigner around. Come to think of it any non-canon teams need a campaigner to really make them work cause they're not self-evident in the same way a normal team is. Witches Rule sort of felt like this years Niacey. It's fine to have one or a few eclectic picks in E8.

Disney should make a Grand Theft Auto game but with Zootopia characters. Or maybe even their own Smash Bros. using many classic and modern Disney movies, seeing how WB and Nickelodeon already tried that.

I always thought Capcom's Aladdin for SNES was a better game than the Genesis one.
And speaking of which, did you know Capcom made a game produced by Shigeru Miyamoto that had Mickey perform Street Fighter moves? Apparently it was also the reason why he was barely in the first Kingdom Hearts.

The Genesis version was such a fever dream for me, especially someone who didn't watch the movie first. I went to play and finish the SNES version later and I was surprised they did include an epilogue. The Genesis one you just have a small custcene and that's it. Not to mention Jafar in his snake form on the Genesis one looked pathetic

Genesis had better animation, sure (I mean, Disney itself did it), but I just think Aladdin using his acrobatic skills in the SNES one was more interesting than him having the sword among other things. It had better-sounding music, too.

Well Superman could have won this year but he still got a pretty good silver medal. Also it's weird that people would consider it lame if they won here; no one holds it against Tyr and Hank for winning side tournaments before the main ones so why hold it against Supes and Bats?
No.223550

On the topic of World’s Finest, I think /v/‘s comment about the lack of thematic matches is actually spot on here regarding them being inactive.
Superman’s whole deal is fighting larger than life villains and sci-fi threats while Batman can deal with mystery and more psychological threats. Meanwhile their opponents have been things like a parody crossover theme, Calvin and Hobbes and the Disney witch couple. What do you have to work with there?

Some people were trashing Worlds Finest earlier too. Think there's just some negativity about them, including the kind of odd opinion that someone else from the Witches bracket could've beat them. They're easily winners material here though.

Batman has too many iconic team ups for just one tourney. Robin is of course the one that makes the most sense but Superman is just as valid when you consider the decades of history the two have together. It's a shame we have to choose and neither should be discounted.

The good part is them making E8 opens up a slot for the Dynamic Duo next year. And Trios means all three can be together without having to choose.
