I really recommend you try either the classics or HD classics. Next Encounter doesn't make much use of the Serious Sam formula and is more of a mindless shooting, kind of like Serious Sam 2
Classics still look gorgeous to this day, with skyboxes being works of art.
HD loses the realistic-cartoony art style but in exchange you get the best gibs and blood splatters I have seen to this day.
