Eggman's KWAB status is forced. There are people who unironically voted Shadow just to dunk on Eggman and the Death Battle shouldn't even matter. He's also an unironically good character and forcing him into KWAB status is lame.

There's no shame in losing to another powerhouse, especially when that character is the runner-up. If nothing else it's not KWAB status worthy, just a run of the mill "popular character loses to another popular character". Call me if he loses to Steve or Red Pikmin or something, now THAT would be KWAB worthy
Also the biggest KWAB of Queen of /v/ this year is Vidya Butts and it's not even close

I'd argue Battler. He went from having the fabled Battler vs 47 match, and being the only person to ever get the title "king of the losers", and lost to a dead-silent WALUIGI round 1. Eggman at least has some form of proxy recognition by a Sonic character finally winning something, Battler got NOTHING positive out of 2024.

There's a few criteria for such a title. Could mean most losing-est loser, textbook jobber, or just the most dunked on or badly meta tarnished. Top to bottom for who I think is actually most deserving of the title each tourney.

Ms. /co/:
>E8fag (years of arguing about this shit and 24 hours straight in the finale to lose in a blowout lmao)
>MD (for real now, biggest gorillion OC's campaign two years in a row and still not a single character can break R1, including jobbing to an SU character)
>Primos (for proving despite their board presence they were the most irrelevant DTVA girl hit ever and it's not even close, seeds 900/1000's)
>Chel (disgraceful R4 hijinks/falseflagging all around, got dunked on by Pomnifags hard, lost her perfect E8 streak in a boomer icon vs. zoomer icon stand-off)
>Jessica Rabbit (continues being hyped up for her breakout potential, continues just being the E8 filter)
>Pacifica (lost her perfect R3 streak by losing in R2, continues being a power filter)
Mr. /co/:
>Black Hat (NSA's rig support wasn't enough to get him through convincingly and now he's got a fucked rep as her personal tumblr boy and seeds 400's)
>Guy Gagne (a fucking snail)
>Livesey (similar to Black Hat, NSA drama and perhaps just fading meme relevancy, went from narrow R4 loss and being meme hype of the year to seeding mid 200's)
>Eddy. (still can't get a fucking Edboy past R4 despite being THE nostalgia classic toon of /co/)
>Mr. Krabs (character kind of meta fucked by a spam meme, only real sponge rep. to not make E8 now, lost to Plankton)
Queen:
>AK-12 (failed to qualify and vidya butts fags being giant whiny bitches basically over their rigging not working)
>Tifa (she can't seem to shake the reputation of being the hated boring silent majority pick and getting raped by Reimu, even after getting a campaign this year. had the bad luck to narrowly beat a campaign favorite with very ardent fans and got trashed and 8th zoned behind fucking Miku as a result)
>Hornet (went from consistent powerhouse filter and runner-up that narrowly lost to Midna, to R1 loser against an opponent that would've been thought to be way weaker)
>Blaze (lost to someone like 120 seeds below her after her mysterious top 10 placement , some fag got really angry afterwards after not campaigning for her at all)
King:
>Banjo (Of course. Fucker has been crushed at R1 for six years now. Even Steve moved further than him.)
>Battler (went from LB winner then lost all his years-long hype and jobbed to silence to Waluigi in R2)
>Geralt (lot of hype and high ranks in /tnt/ tourneys, got mogged by an animal crossing character in the first round, has become a symbol of hypejobs and being an argument by example for anti-randomized people)
>HUNK (hitched to and used by Hexfag, became the Hexfag pick and spited)
>Doomguy (continues being a jobber power filter despite continual hype and attempts to regain first year glory, narrowly lost to a newbie)
/tnt/ and general tourney meta:
>Eggman (c'mon now)
>NSA (disgraced kicked out host, got investigated and dunked on most of the year)
>Queen /a/ host (moronic asshole, tourney got deleted and pissed on along with possibly the chance of ever having a full /a/ tourney)
>itoddler (continually dunked on spam bitch)
>Hexfag (became the controversy vortex of the last two months of the year, reputation tanked considerably and he handled it terribly, had a brief redemption of sorts at the end of King but then made an ass of himself shortly after)
>Quote (became brap pick, only character across any tourneys to be a topmost seed losing to a bottomost seed - in a smaller side tourney but still)
>Erika (continual runner-up despite having the Eggman rub, can't qualify in Queen, basically a symbol now of /tnt/ metapooners)

Kleinerfag also disowned him when anons started to realize how OOC he was.

>failed to return to the Elite Eight again despite being mained by two of the most profilic tournament artists
>got gatekept by the very character who happened to be attached to an innocent post which caused his fans to freak out over a Duck Match a year prior
>the same character would have NEVER gotten the meme reputation he has now had it not been for said overreaction

HUNK still had an impressive showing from qualifying at all considering he was always cucked by the series limit (he had the same amount of votes as Leon, even). Despite the Hexfag falseflagging he still had a pretty good reputation and his output for HUNK wasn’t even that high. I think him secretly being a Shadow OC maker pretty much overshadowed it.

You mean because of Hexfag drawing for him, or because of the edits made during Queen over his art? In the case of the former then no, I think HUNK qualified because of his presence during the Queen tournament. The fact Hexfag wanted to support him "genuinely" didn't even come out until later.

Hex Maniac has been getting bashed as a contestant since the very beginning, there's even Hexfag OC dating back to 2022 with critical posts from the threads attached to it. If the character did well in 2023 without much controversy it's solely due to it being, well… the loser's bracket.
However, things only really turned against the drawfag himself during the Baiken vs. Hex match when he started addresing dissenters in a less than graceful manner. One thing led to another and right now Hexfag has the reputation of an attention whore who might care a bit too much about the parasocial aspects of the tournaments.

Bar the controversy at the end of the round 4 and quarter-finals as that was a shitfest for the queen as a whole, the princess was among the biggest winners in that tournament for my personal opinion.

>Had one of the most unified fandom in the tournament
>A shitload of OC and a sincere campaign
>Beat THE silent powerhouse 2B
>Lost to a tourney classic and former finalist by 5 votes
And most importantly
>Made people actually try and play their game
That last part is probably the biggest win for any contestant that can have in these tournaments. You can gloat and say that your pick won but recommending /v/ to play a game is damn near impossible. Achieving such a feat is legit a feat that can rarely be replicated even by the winners of the tourneys.

I wish people stopped attaching characters to people, I only made stuff for Kleiner because my main lost Round 1 in 2022 and I was bored, so I looked at who was left, saw him and said to myself "Kleiner is Gmod, messing around in Gmod could be fun".

I think all the dicksucking in 2023 got to his head. The loser's bracket was a particular thing that fitted him, his choice of character, and tourney attitude, but it should've been pretty easy to see how he'd become very controversial. His crap pick actually doing good in the main tourney and becoming synonymous with him opened a can of meta worms about campaign vs. character and thread personality's.

The UNKWABOTY barring winners is easily Sam. Biggest turnaround in tourney history. Went from former E8 getting dunked for no one even NOMINATING him, to 3rd place and premier meta meme of the year.

Considering there's two categories to this:
>he deserves for being a classic
>he deserves it because it's his only chance
It bites some, some it does not.

I agree and think it’s pretty poor rep for a porn tourney but bringing that up is almost impossible cause of the place’s obsession with some schizo fag who spammed it.

It tends to bite the former and gurantees the latter win.

It’s exclusively a King problem because the other tournaments don’t really have that boost every year.

She demolished 2B and suddenly STP threads got flooded with cuckposting and false flagging started in Queen threads. The first one is quite a sore spot since threads for a recent content drop were ruined by it.

Rocky the Flying Squirrel
>Goes from a character apparently associated with some schizo to being first 128 seed to beat a 1 seed on 4chan and actually getting support and OC onto round 3
Yeah it was the porn contest but he won't ever qualify for /co/ so I think that's the best result the character could have, and it'll be a tourney lore trivia for years onward

Are you implying 2Bfags are butthurt and caused a bunch of shit? Cause 2Bfags don't even exist in tourneys.

Nah, both had an E8 run a long time coming and have made it close before. Same goes to Popeye.

The only active 2Bfag was, unfortunately, the same fag that brings /co/ in /v/ threads and kept shitting /trash/ tourneys.
You know who I am talking about.

Soon as we got into the Elite Eight, I knew it was likely coming down to whoever won between Spider-Man and Popeye.

I figured Phonecuck was behind a lot of the Princess/Tifa shitflinging but I didn't realize he was spamming non-tourney threads with that shit, that's pretty low even for him

I'm not really especially gay so i didn't participate. From the looks of it it was another fur domination though.

Funny thing is Beerus is a hairless cat, had he won he'd be the only character to technically please both the furry and not-furry crowd
