In 2022 it was a race to the bottom, NSA was fucking up and Temp was less hated than Numnuts so it was between them. Douche and Turd. Getting rid of him secured her position, and Temp was very good at hanging his own noose especially if he felt the 'public' was lying to him or misleading him.

Going at the mods was what got the Tag Team removed from /co/ intially(or really just picking a bad OP image). The ban came in response to the borderline riots that occurred later that day and the day after when everything went to shit.

THIS is what people were talking about when they mentioned "/trash/ Raiders and Temp Loyalists fighting", it was just two fringe factions rioting in a day of panic and then some grumbling for a bit. But Temp himself was banned by the time it got started and the /trash/ thread died within a day. It being treated like a Jacobin level existential threat was pure doomerist fearmongering and probably was pushed to some degree by NSA to secure her power. (This was January 2023, she was on thin fucking ice and people were shopping for replacements)

I think the issue is that the old wiki still shows up easily and consistently on google search and the new one almost never does

We all know that the only character who qualifies as a jobber after meeting that criteria is Eggman.

There should be some sort of ELO type system. There's a huge difference between Toph losing to Fang(who was a finalist in 2020 and a winner in 2022, probably would have won in 2020 without the IRL stuff) and something like Cyn losing to Lapis.

That's especially important in years where Randomized was used, Seeded sort of partially does this on it's own (albeit not against dark horses like Fang), but in Randomized years you could get stuff like Shego fighting Frankie Round 2, not really Shego's fault.

Toph's never jobbed R1:
1. She lost in the final four in 2018 to Jenny the winner.
2. In 2020 she lost Round 2 to Fang(who came third place, but was realistically second place because she utterly stomped Kim in the bronze match and almost stopped Dr. Girlfriend while Queen Tyr'anhee got squarely defeated. Fang went on to win in 2022 without the Venture Bros factor to stop her).

3. In 2021 she lost Round 2 to Daphne, but Daphne is a E8 girl(albeit a weak one) and also everybody fucking jobbed in 2021 that was the year of spite. Toph wasn't unusual here.

4. In 2022 she lost to Gwen R2. This one is a job, fair enough, but I will note for context NSA may have been fucking with results and Gwen is a decent midcarder.

5. In 2023 she's a finalist, lost to the winner, and was probably rigged against. 3 of the 5 losses were against either winners or future winners(And let's be real, without the cancellation boost Fang would have won 2020, and without NSA Toph would have won 2023)
So she's been Elite 8/Final 4 twice, her loss in 2020 was to the second strongest candidate of the year and a future winner, and her loss in 2021 was no different then the dozen other heavy hitters who failed that year. Not to mention she probably would have won in 2023 without NSA.

Toph deserves the top tier, the 2020 joke was made before anyone realized what a powerhouse Fang was and she's struggled to shake that reputation.
Also Queen Tyr'ahnee lost to fucking Jasmine in 2018 who hasn't been able to even qualify in years, if Gwen2022 is the reason Toph can't make top tier what about this, Jasmine should be blocking Queen.

A loss record of "The guy that won next year", "Winner, as a finalist" and "Winner as a finalist AGAIN" is insane. And correct me if I'm wrong but Eggman's closet win at least in 2023 was against Wario, where most people pretty much said "Yeah we'll support whoever goes forward, these guys are cool. Now that I'm looking at it, Toph and Tyr'ahnee have weirdly similar records.

That and Toph jobbing became a meme after Fang so even when Fang turned out to be a legitimate threat people already had it in their heads that Toph sucked and that meta influence hurt.

Fang winning in 2020 might've actually killed Ms. /co/

My assessment is somewhat biased in favor of the more recent results because those are more relevant to a character's current standing. So how a character has done recently affects their placemet more than how they've done in the first couple of years. In fact, that's the reason Toph is as high as she is, since her most recent performance is one of her best ones. Without it she'd probaby be Upper Midcarder.
