It was great to finally get something involving /a/ off the ground. Hope everyone had fun. Few things now:

Firstly Villains of /a/ is scheduled for July 26th. Apologies if this seems maybe a week later than the optimal date, but it's when I think I'll be available. As far as I'm aware no one's planned any other tourneys from now to the beginning of the main tourneys (ms. /co/ probably the first week of September like usual).

Secondly like samaritanon I'll poll the future of Heroes/Villains at the end of the next Villains. I pretty much figured the /a/ one's as being a one-shot but it could happen again, or stuff like team /a/ tourneys or maybe a heroes/villains of another board could happen instead. Lot of potential things to fill places next year.

Thirdly there seemed to be a lot of controversy over the inclusion of certain funpost characters at the start. I thought it wasn't a big deal at the time (being a not-so-serious side tourney) but perhaps it was wrong to let them through. For villains I could add something like "no funpost or parodic stand-ins of real life people."

dbs arguing aside, I think the results this tourney have been pretty satisfactory. I'd say it decently approximates the kind of results /a/ itself would have (with a few weird exceptions). I was imagining Kenshiro vs. Guts as the finale, but once Guts was out Kenshiro just seemed like the apparent choice to me. He fits a title like hero of /a/ to a T. No surprise he won. He's a good candidate for winning a full-on King/Mr. /a/ if it ever happened too.

I think if a /tv/ tourney ever gets tried, there should be a strict rule in every OP against child actors participating (something like "a character is only eligible if their actor was 18 or older by the time they played them"), especially for Ms.

Funny thing you mention that, board games general had a mini-tournament for the best board game of all time but it was tiny, think the average per round was something like 16-18 votes. His QF and SF matches were both real damn close, the only host overseeing the results at the time was NSA, and the Jack-Off in general already felt forced. This alone would only be loose speculation, but there was also that incident with an unrelated poll getting rigged for votes for various SMT games and Stranger of Paradise around the same time. I could definitely do some stuff for Beerus assuming I'll be free at that time. It could be fun. But I don't know if Beerus is a "villain". He just does his job to destroy planets, albiet he's pretty shit at the job. He's flawed, not proactively evil. Slurpposting is going to obliterate Freeza, not even a factor. Cell would definitely stand the best chance out of any Dragonball villain, but if the /dbs/ boogeyman took down Piccolo it can absolutely take down Cell. But it'd be pretty cool if he started out as the bug form, and whatever villain he defeats he absorbs just like 17 and 18 to power up.
Honestly, if I do campaign for Villains I think Griffith would have to be my pick. Guts is more of a protagonist than he is a "hero", what people used to the Ameritrash dub of Z think Japanese Goku is like is a lot closer to what Guts is like, most of his fighting is driven by survival or revenge, with not much consideration of a moral compass behind it. He felt bad like, two times, when he killed that kid and when he killed Gambino. But Griffith? Absolutely pure evil. Utterly vile betrayal, big Lucifer allegories going with him and utterly selfish and petty in everything he does. But his allure, his arguments, his tact and his charisma steer a LOT of people towards him. The truest villainy that hides itself, no pedo rapist is going to wear a shirt that says "KEEP CHILDREN AWAY I AM A THREAT". They're going to look like that pastor, that teacher or that babysitter, something that should be safe and beautiful. And honestly, I think the final page that shows he was still human all along made him even worse. He didn't lose his conscience. He just ignored it. But brilliant foreshadowing all the way back in Black Swordsman with the count and that apostles still keep a little humanity.
