Hey, white gold also exists as an alloy. If you want to tell the difference between if a piece of jewelry is White gold (gold alloyed with platinum and/or palladium) or silver (usually alloyed with copper), look for a jewelers mark. Silver is measured in parts 1000 with a .1 margin of error, so the most common measurements you'll see for silver are 900 (Coin) 925 (Sterling) and 999 (Fine). Gold is measured in parts 24 (Karats) So common is 24 karat (also 999 for bullion purposes) 22 Karat (Coin, popular bullion coins like the American Gold eagle or the South African gold Krugerrand use this for durability reasons) or 14-18 Karat (Jewelry, not quite as yellow but cheaper and more durable. Can cause allergy issues though, copper is a common human allergy while gold is hypoallergenic and nearly inert). Even at times where Platinum or Palladium can be briefly more expensive then Gold, Gold is still always the measuring benchmark for any type of jewelry.
Nickel isn't usually even worth a jeweler's mark, that's how cheap and shitty nickel jewelry is.

Ugh, great. I remember this one abnormality I ran into that wore this gold outfit. It was irritating as all hell. I wore that outfit at one point, and it didn't even look that good. Who would you say is most likely to win here, geopolitically speaking?

If you want to read about any more gold or coin autism, I can't recommend this book enough. It has lots of photos and is well written. The author Edmund Moy was also a director of the United states mint and is a lifelong coin collector. The publisher Whitman publishing has been heavily involved in the world of numismatics for about 90 years now. Between the two, it's as authoritative of a source as you can get.
