Yeah, I've been lurking around but I'm still not sure what the Gwen Fest thing is about or where it started. Never really heard about it before. I myself don't really have much time to contribute, hence me just starting the thread with today's page.

Well there are 30x 10 minute episodes already, it is listed as the 2016 reboot on sites like IMDb, KissCartoon and Wikipedia, and the series has been aired by Cartoon Network in multiple regions since October of 2016. Not being released yet in North and Latin America does not mean the series is not from 2016.

The reboot in the comic isn't actually supposed to be Ben and Gwen, hence why in the filenames I have changed any instance of Ben/Gwen and Rust Bucket, plus Ben in the video doesn't have an Omnitrix. It just worked out that the characters are completely different while having similarities in appearance.

Of course NuGwen will never be OS Gwen. They clearly did not make her with that intent, both physically and in personality. Just have to look at her as a new character. I've never looked at her in any way as being a replacement for OS Gwen. As for the novel idea, probably would be a bit more in-character, but not as interesting to portray and isn't something Ben would as likely catch her doing.

Well, not back back, but speaking out a little while lurking. I don't think I would have time to draw any magazine cover as I'm quite busy. I still have 2 more guaranteed Patreon requests, and by the time those are done it will be time to do another calendar piece, so pretty much my next 3-4 weekends are taken up already and my weekday schedule is difficult enough. If you want to use anything I've made before, however, feel free.

It started about halfway through the previous thread with this >>216611 post. Anon galvanised everyone into creating something ambitious since there was so many artists drawing Gwen at the time. It made sense to celebrate the character. Plus I think it was a good way for everyone to deal with the trauma of you being absent from the threads =P

If I can finish the piece I started this weekend before next week starts I should have only one more guaranteed request slot from my past Patreon to fulfill then I'll finally be done with those. Being in the form of a commission sadly would not help as the issue is not so much money as it is scheduling. Mondays through Fridays are quite busy as it is, and I can feel that pushing even more in this time frame would be bad for my hand (it does need rest time). However I should have more time maybe within the next few weeks after I finish my last couple guaranteed request slots from before, although by the time those are done it will be time for the next calendar piece so I likely have about 2-4 weeks left before I'll be able to spare much time.

How 'bout no? From an aesthetic standpoint it really is lacking. It's like the commissioner wanted porn of the Bratz dolls. Completely and totally impossible to find attractive in any way, shape or form.

As for evolving as an artist that's all well and good but not if it takes you from something halfway decent to Cubist Expressionism. There are styles out there which while they might be the artist's personal preference or the end result of years of practice and effort don't really lend themselves to erotica.

Half of erotic art is the aesthetics, not merely the content, and you should carefully consider the direction you want to go.

And no, i'm not an OS Gwen extremist. Gimme good pictures of the other versions (even one-shot versions like the magician from the flash forward episode) and I'll gladly save them. But the emphasis here is on GOOD. Don't be like Iamari over on Hentai-Foundry saying everything you see is worth keeping, because that way lies madness.

I think it should be a fair treatment to have a minimalist or even a kind of fancy edit with Gwen from an official pic or even screenshot in it, since it's about her why we are doing this. You know, Gwenfest.

Again, even if Incog doesn't have the time, his recent and more notable works are gonna be in the magazine, but giving him a preferential place and even the cover would be disrespectful for all the other artists involved

It won't be. He'll be cover artist, first and foremost, and then he'll receive the recognition he deserves in a retrospective "Best Of" gallery along with other Gwen artists like HP, Random, Drew Gardner. (Apostle will be acknowledged as well for his legendary Gwen works). All up, the "Best Of" should take up one or two spreads of the magazine- 4 pages all up. If there are themed sections like 'swimwear' or 'pin-ups' for example then Incog's work will be included in those along with other artists who have done drawings the subject. Classic Gwen stories will also have a small section and will include Fixxxer's 'A Witch With No Name' as well as the WIP 'Sultry Summer' by Incog. (A search on exhentai will reveal a back catalog of Gwen comics).

The contributors who have created fresh art for this festival like Panzer, Dankwart stuff18over, conoghi, Fridge etc will be the main stars of the magazine, with each piece being featured in their own page. If the artist has made other Gwen works, then there will be an accompanying page showcasing these. Every artist will therefore get a spread with their second page detailing their thoughts and passion for the character as well as links to their email/Patreon/website.

So you don't have to worry, anon, it won't be an Incog magazine. But please give him the chance to produce 1 cover piece for the project.

It doesn't mean I won't take some hints from your changes it's just that I'd like to keep my drawing my own.

As for proportions, if I use the cartoon proportions she won't be attractive at all. So I used anatomically correct body design that still has some tweaks to get to the right age measurements.

Guys we have to stop fighting over total control of this project amongst ourselves or it will self-implode, either by being made to a poor standard that doesn't please anyone or by not being made at all due to people in important positions spitting the dummy and pulling the plug.

Panzer, be more considerate and open to ideas and don't dictate orders. You may not know you're doing it but watch your tone. This is a collaborative effort, that's the key word here, so collaborate. There are groups of people in the community that are watching our progress and want this project to fail so we need to be more in sync with one another so as to not be a laughing stock. I believe the key to doing this is pitching ideas and keeping an open mind about what others suggest, instead of just shutting them down immediately. Keep the energy positive or nothing will get done.

What we're doing right now is brainstorming the segments that make up the 'magazine'. I'm pretty sure everyone here is a real nerd for Gwen and that she makes us all geek out for whatever reason. I think one of our tasks is to show those who are wondering why the character is so popular exactly why this is so, with the ultimate goal being to transfer enthusiasm and create new fans. Not Duke but I can understand why you think that way, however I dont think it's about him revering her or anything, it's just how his style evolved through years. You can even see other girls from his loliclub and some even look as Gwen with a different hairstyle sometimes.

I'm not trying to say bad things about Incognitymous, I think he's a great artist and I like his style but I'm just trying to give some light to those misconceptions some people seem to have here about him when it comes to draw Gwen.

Sadly this is parcially true. because some even praise him, this make them blind to see though his drawings and style, so they can't take some criticism about his works though.
Even Incog have done it, accepting some flaws in his drawings and learning from them, which is something important to do for any artist.

It's curious how his fans often bring on such things as those accuracies so subtle how you said it, when for anyone who wanna look for it, would be easy to spot certain flaws if you compare his works with the actual show, which in the end is an ridiculous argument, not just because the show itself has some minor chances sometimes, but 'cause it's just Incog's style after all

Without getting into paragraphs of drama let's try to focus on the task at hand. Few questions I'd like to raise about the magazine:

1- what is the format, PDF? Website? It would make sense to be able to click on hotlinks that take you directly to artist's paheal galleries and Patreon pages. I was thinking we could do it in a social media format that incorporates features reminiscent of Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. Different to regular magazine, but very "now" and innovative.

2- how big will it be? with all these ideas of paying tribute to Gwen it seems as though the whole thing could go for 50+ pages

So after having the cover and templates ready, we can just start selecting works or artists and people could take some and edited them, share them here and if people are ok with it, apply the magazine template and add it to the final product.

Darn its gone. How was the party?

From the top of my head here's what I got. My proposal:

-Cover,

-Table of contents

-A few classic screenshots of Gwen in the cartoon looking cute to establish mood. No words. The magazine will be interspersed with these candid screenshots to create an experience

'Welcome to Gwenfest'- Intro. A few words from the team, basically the mission statement of the whole thing, summarising each segment and what to expect from each of them.

'The Phenomenon of Fit Gwen': article in pictures exploring its origins and reason for the meme's ongoing popularity. 2 page spread

'What if..?' 2 page spread based on this >>217570 idea, exploring alternate designs of Gwen's casual wear as drawn by various contributors. Would be fascinating to gain insight into each artist's choice of re-design with a few words.

'Artists of 2017'- this is the meat of the book. Multiple pages featuring contributor artwork. Might need to do 3 artists per spread, and not one per 2-page spread as initially suggested, or the book will run up to 50 pages. 10 pages of fresh artwork and artists giving their insights is a safe number.

'Top 10 Gwen artworks of all time'- this will be decided by a massive strawpoll vote over an extended period.. someone's gotta be responsible for this lol. It's a countdown so it might take over 4 pages.

Feature: Sultry Summer- the latest Gwen comic. Angle: an excercise in long form storytelling.. few words by incog on his motivation for it.. details on where to access it.. FOLLOWED BY a short side-article on classic Gwen stories of the past. Everyone will be familiar with these so a short sentence to summarise the story can accompany their covers.

A segment about the swimsuits Gwen has worn throughout rule 34 history maybe

A segment about Lucky Girl is needed

'Sealed section'- like the old days of porn magazines. Fresh (hopefully) pics of Gwen fully nude and at her most explicit.

Give or take to me that's a comprehensive experience of what makes Gwen awesome, and it's pornographic too. Page after page of fap material. Anyone else got any ideas for features?

At least better than choosing top 10 Gwen artists, comparing them would be pretty rude since some are already contributing

With this I understand we're gonna post only the cover, right? That way people could visit Incognitymous' place to see it, which would help him to have more visitors there.
We just need to include a link and a few words from him as you said, maybe with cropped pics from the comic along with the paragraphs so it can look fresh as a two pages article

About classic Gwen stories, fanfics are gonna be included here?
I can't recall all I've read but I know there are some quite good

Would it be fine if I did some music themed Gwens? Because I don't see many of those.
I actually did a metal themed Gwen like 6 months ago. I wanna do another one.

I haven't liked any of the recent pics I've done. I'm thinking it's because bikini pics are rather high in quantity. And I've been subconsciously comparing mine to all the other ones out there

Well it would be a 3 step process. The editors here pick their top 20, agree on 30 of those to be voted on based on a combined pool of 30 of the creme de la creme to be put to the vote among them. That shouldn't be too hard. Of the 5000 there are clearly undisputed winners among them.

If that's too hard, we can always just dictate the Top 10, YouTube shows to it all the time. Such lists instigate healthy debates among fans, and the point of any media is to start a dialogue.

It's not only about if it's something that can be done or no.
Everytime with any kind of top list, you'd be underestimating the hard work and effort of rest of the artists until now.

Also many of them wouldn't like the idea of having their drawing rated or compared

It was really going to be an "All-Stars Gallery", where we showcase the likes of Fuchur, GFD and John Doe's portrayals of Gwen- big heavyweight names who've drawn her. Apostle, Tekuho, Splooge, Simon etc.. But under a guise of a Top Ten.

I propose a feature: Gwen's Family Tree. It would look like a traditional family tree except all the pics show Gwen having sex with each of her family members. Can use already existing pics available.

It couldn't be a proper 10 then or at least an easy task, since there are so many renowned artists that have drawn this sexy redhead. An interesting idea though, and we could select max 5 pics for every artists if some have so many to make iy easier

Thinking about it, it's like if every famous worthy artist out there have drawn Gwen at least once, or drawing her is a very known way in the r34 world to have a place between the very best artists

Even if I'm just kidding around with this idea, I can't deny it's amazing seeing an artist whose style I like, suddenly drawing her one day for the first time

We would call it "Meet the Tennysons". Basically everything we're doing in the magazine is Gwen-centric and will serve to take readers deeper into her world. For me it's an excuse to illustrate how promiscuous and kinky Gwen can be. Plus I'd like to give those unaware of her family life to meet Lucy Mann and Sunny.

From what I've seen here 7 out of 10 will be Incog's work just out of sheer fanboyish behavior.

It would be fair if you choose 10 artists and then vote on their best renditions to the character. That way there would be 10 pics chosen by the community from different artists respecting their work.

I think it's an interesting time to write about it since we're only seeing the beginnings of its potential to make full, animated movies of her. Then we can segue into those cute images of Gwen in 'Destroy All Aliens"

It would be still falling into subjective criteria about how to select them though
That said, the only way to give an equal treatment and respect to every artist is not doing any rate, comparison or top list, simple as that

It's a bad idea letting people who don't know about artistic stuff decide what work is better by simplistic standars and polls.
