Hello everyone! Friends we need to make Drones real, we need to create 3 billion Drones. Wouldn't you want a Drone? They need to be real. The very cool Booru: https://dronebooru.co The wheel with interesting OCs: https://wheelofnames.com/z8q-2mf And it's modifier: https://wheelofnames.com/4h8-fyf The impressive OC wiki: https://dronebooru.co/wiki_pages/original_character The last Thread: >>270721
so here's a question I've been thinking up, let's say JCJenson drones were real, how would one go about buying one? Would they be sold through a dealership like how cars are in the present day? if so I'd imagine sometimes it would be cool if you were driving down the highway or interstate and next you you would see a drone dealership with rows and rows of drones outside like cars and inside the dealership building too (picrel is exactly what I had in mind) What do you guys think?
I also asked this on /co/ but unfortunately there wasn't any discussions that I'd thought it would be, so I thought I'd ask it here too ┐(‘~`;)┌
>>274592 Dealerships, stores in the mall, places like that. They're commonplace enough to have recycling machines on every block, so they're likely commonplace enough to buy without too much hassle. I'd imagine the dealerships would be more focused on contracts for large purchases, while the smaller outlet stores are where you go if you want a domestic assistant. They'd be the glaring white kind with big circular glass windows wrapping around the building, inactive workers with fake eye stickers posing like mannequins at a clothing store. JCJ likely never got too fancy. There was only ever a single model of worker drone- you see one, you've seen them all. The displays would be more about "look at all these things they can do!" rather than showcasing the product itself.
>>274592 Seeing what all the different drone options list look like would be interesting. You know how cars used to be optioned out with a checklist? I'm thinking that but for different drone models (Workers, Disassemblers, etc)
>>274577 What if... >only the Cyn parts of the Cynwalker melt into goo >the Tessa parts have enough of a "pull" left in them that Tessa is extracted from Uzi's mind palace and put into what's left of her body to stabilize it >horrifically traumatized zombie-thing Tessa is now living with the Doormans >her former dumpster friends all stay away from her out of shame; just as well, since now they fill her with a cocktail of disgust and terror >Lizzy is really liking this (more or less still-) human girl >Doll sometimes watches her sleep, but in a non-hostile way, unlike when she acts as co-V's sleep paralysis demon with Nori
>>274592 drones might be industrial equipment, but I don't think they'd keep them outside. I imagine them being in showrooms, maybe with a few designated areas for demonstrating what they can do. then again, drones are apparently so ubiquitous and expendable that there are drone disposal stations on every street, so maybe they're more likely to be sold anywhere that sells tech or even farm equipment
>>274592 >let's say JCJenson drones were real, how would one go about buying one? Honestly it would depend on how expensive they are (both to produce and to purchase). At minimum I would expect a real life drone do cost around $20K–30K, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were upwards $150K. I can see there being specialized dealerships for them within certain major cities, but otherwise I think you'd have to order them directly from the manufacturer.
In terms of how a human in the setting of Murder Drones would go about buying a drone, there are a few different ideas/headcanons you could run with. >Robot Dealerships Assuming JcJenson isn't a total monopoly, Worker Drones intended for commercial use are likely sold at any dealership/business that specializes in robots. You could buy a premium Drone with all the extra features & accessories from a first party dealership, or you could buy a used drone outfitted with third-party modifications & 'accessories' from Bobby Bolivia's Finest Quality Drones >Build-A-Drone My personal favorite It's literally Build-A-Bear except with drones. It would certainly be comparatively niche as far as the overall market for drones (industrial labor units & expendable service industry units) but I can easily see this being the best method to buy a drone intended for domestic service. >JCJenson™ Assuming JcJenson has a total monopoly, Worker Drones intended for commercial use are sold exclusively at JCJenson™(both their physical omnimarkets AND online superstores!). Most people probably aren't rich enough to buy a drone, but they can still afford to rent a drone for a nominal weekly subscription!
>>274619 >At minimum I would expect a real life drone do cost around $20K–30K, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were upwards $150K. Possible, but consider that Drones can make themselves. If they're the ones mining out and processing the ore used to make more drones, and the ones assembling them, then the only upkeep these facilities need are replacing attrition losses and keeping them fueled. Human supervisors would probably be needed to pinpoint accidents, call in cleanup crews, activate new workers, and replace equipment, but aside from that, the workforce works for nearly-free and creates itself. I can see them being much cheaper than they should reasonably be, as a result of all that. Sort of like how Star Wars can have a ton of FTL-capable starships for surprisingly cheap despite how complex they are, simply by making sure that droids have no rights and that nobody wants to give them rights.
>>274624 Not really a "good" fight, but it's not like anyone could have done any better in her shoes, and she still tried more than nearly anyone else would have. Makes it a bit more insulting that she's completely given up in episode 8, would have been poetic for her to join the forlorn hope one last time.

>>274626 You really think that? I'm betting she would be more than able to chop my head off if I let her. Of course, she couldn't ''beat'' the Solver, but her fighting despite the obvious disadvantage was the first(chronologically) and also one of the hardest examples of drones defending themselves and others, I respect that.
>>274628 Yeah, J could probably kill anyone here with one arm, I'm not arguing that, but I also doubt she managed to land a single hit on Cyn. Real heroism isn't beating up the big villain, it's standing in front of them and trying your best to stop them, whether you succeed or not. It would have been rather poetic to see J turn and try to get a swing in on Cyn in the finale, only to either be overridden and set to "mindless killer" mode, or taken out quickly for her trouble. But it's not my story.
>>274626 can't really be helped she lost all hope. she was the closest to the solver and had to spend the entire trip to copper 9 trapped in a tiny landing craft with her owner and tormentor wearing the mutilated corpse of the girl who saved her life
>>274640 I honestly can't stand V's anger without understanding J's situation and why she is like this, as I feel like it's the exact same attitude that Doll's arc was meant to critique of having blind rage at someone without understanding what they are going through and why they did it.
>>274643 All of my attempts to argue for J being anything more than a played-for-laughs antagonist stem from me wanting to bury my face in her off-model tits/ass. It's not insincere, but I assume that's where it all started.
>>274645 I can honestly imagine me from 2 years ago looking at current me rambling about shit like "empathy and understanding" knowing that I'm only talking about that stuff because of my love for J.
