Got an Xbox One about a week ago and I have to say I really enjoy it. Few problems I have with the system is that using the Home button to initiate various commands can be a pain. Like, double tapping the Home button to save a screenshot or record gameplay video. Had a few moments where it would just take me to the home screen, or the Snap sidescreen.
Other than that, I'm loving it. The customization options easily trumps the PS4's. Really satisfying to pick your own color and upload your own wallpaper for the system's profile. Also glad there's more emphasis on gamer pics over avatars this time around. The U.I. takes some getting use to (might just be me, since I've been use to the PS4's), but it's an improvement from the 360's. Everything's bigger, cleaner and simplified. Having multiple apps run is another plus. Came in handy when I watched a YouTube video for help and went back to a game I was in the middle of.
Playing Rayman Legends, since it was free for Gold Memberships. (Also, being able to keep you games with Gold will always make it superior to PlayStation Plus). Plan to try out Child of Light soon. Also got Dying Light and two Assassin's Creed games from the bundle. Despite all the ridiculous bugs the plagued its launch, Unity is surprisingly fun. But I usually don't play Assassin's Creed games, so my enjoyment from it is probably heightened by first time exposure. Similarly to how I enjoyed Infamous: Second Son more than most people.
- Nothing on the Xbone right now is a "must have" for me - I haven't played all of my 360 games, and Xbone has no backwards compatibility - I would use the money to buy a Wii U first
>>194227 That's closer to how this should be done. MAKE some games with the Spark Engine and then release the Spark Creator Pack after you've shown what it can do. SFM revolutionized 3D Porn with that. Speaking of which, where is the Sunflower and Mighty Poo.
>>194229 >SFM revolutionized 3D Porn with that. Speaking of, man, I'm not bothered by all the SFM porn... What I am sorta bothered with is how little stuff is done with it ASIDE from porn. Just a personal thought. Thinking out loud.
>>194231 Its the cycle, same went with early film media. Porn first then they start making more legit things as more pay attention. Also as people work out how it all goes together.
>>194232 Hopefully! It seems like such a powerful animation tool! I personally haven't had the time to just sit down and decipher it, but I'd love to be able to use it someday.
Porn tends to be the early adopter of any new media creation or interaction tech. When we get real Holodecks, it will be because porn went all-in first...
Good read on how the Phantom Dust reboot went kaput.
>As the months went on, things got shakier. Microsoft’s demands for the game increased, and the pressure got worse and worse as Redmond kept asking for new things, Darkside sources say. Microsoft wanted a longer single-player campaign; they wanted various features added and changed; they wanted Darkside to help contribute card art to the accompanying mobile game Microsoft had planned. “This kind of focus change happened on a nearly monthly basis,” said a person who worked on the game.
>“They asked for things pretty quickly,” said a second person close to the studio. “We kept telling them, ‘We cannot make this game for the budget you want.’”
>Making a AAA-looking game like that for 5m with full online multiplayer and all that jazz already sounds low to me, but if I’d then hear from our producer that we also have to now all of a sudden add a 6h long single player campaign without any budget increase and within the same schedule is just absolutely out of the world crazy and I personally have never known the people at Microsoft to make claims like that.
>I mean, we obviously only dealt with a small set of people at MS, but it just sounds somewhat unbelievable to me and completely unreasonable from a business and development perspective, especially since those milestones are set in the actual contracts and both parties have to adhere to them.
>>194290 So in the end who is worse for that EA or Microsoft. Better with Microsoft just kill you off instead of EA and their wearing a Developer like a skinsuit for a couple of games before discarding the remains?
>>201559 We can hate on thee xbox or we can be nostalgic about the huegbox since nostalgia for the 00's is right around the corner. this post I made >>201373 has both things
Yeah, that was the whole point of Scorpio: bring the XBone into the 4K craze and shit. But Microsoft specifically said it would not allow Scorpio-exclusive games, as it wants everyone who has any kind of XBone to get the same games.
That said! Microsoft better have a goddamned good E3 reveal for this thing, because expecting people to shell out Scorpio money for a system with no real exclusives or anything will not help them beat the PS4.
>>202192 That depends on the era, a handheld xbox in the same era as the OG will be a lot like nokia's ngage (Nokia is part of MS now wink wink). In the 360 era is hard to tell but going against the DS and the PSP a gimmick like a gaming tablet is easy to imagine. in the Xbone era it'll be a geming cellphone plain and simple.
