Even more interesting if friendly pyros could also add air to the parachute, which could be helpful in some scenarios (especially paired with a skilled flarejumper). Also, depending on how limited mobility is, pyros could still be a problem with airblasting the rockets back (I assume this would be a secondary item.)

wonder if one could pop the chute while deployed or is it jammed your respawn while the Solder was still afloat and he died. Now then its Dick Pyros keeping a solider corpse airborne to keep him from spawning, though more likely if he dies the chute then fails and he just crashes to earth.

Pretty much this.
I'm not much for competitive matches, but even then I have a desire now and then to play as a team, tuning in the hardcore dificulty. Finding game partners is always the main problem with this.
I also forgot to say, the closest thing to that is playing MVM on hard difficulties, Mann Up only, and being part of a special group for that and/or having game partners willing to play often.
Which in my case it is.

That part was just a mistake: it was patched out later in the same day.
I have been testing the new Eureka Effect for the last hours and I must say: It's so fucking fun.
The added ability to instantly teleport at your Teleport's exit whatever is on or off CAN add more strategy to the engineer's gameplay, add to that the ability to go back and forth thanks to this whenever you want, wherever you are. Makes me feel... Naughty
Now, Valve promised that this time they would be balancing weapons where they would give the class a more stronger part of their aspect, in exchange of making it weaker at other and not just slapping unrelated/unnecessary "downsides" (No random critical hits, +#% more knockback, etc.). This would be a perfect example of that: Half of the repair/upgrade rate. Crippling? Yes, but now think of the possibilities with the new upside.
But as a matter of fact, only time will say if it's truly a sidegrade or not, whatever it ends being op or up.
If Valve is actually trying to make TF2 less shitty and hat focused I may have to dip back into it. Until then I've since switched teams to loadout and outside of Valves halloween events have been having far more fun than I have with TF2 in the past few years.

I'm ok with this.
Have been checking weapons and so far:
- The Back Scatter is a godsend for the scouts that flank often;
- The B.A.S.E. Jumper is fucking fun and does give you great mobility (To be used with precaution, though);
- The Air Strike feels... Liberty launcher-ish... I think even worse, really;
- The Classic is a concept I have yet to grasp. I mean, the upside is being able to use the sniper rifle without a scope, in exchange, you can't headshot unless the meter is fully charged and body shots do -10% of damage, AND you need to charge it manually. So far it seems this thing is a crutch, and I rarely use that word, the last and only time I have used it is when I was giving a damn about the liberty launcher. I believe the only way this thing can be truly what they were aiming for, some kind of carbine, would be removing the movement penalty when no scoping, and maybe lifting a bit the firing speed.
- The Tide Turner is just DELICIOUS. I will be honest and say that I haven't tested the weapon itself yet, but I used to use the turning script exploit before it was patched whenever I went demo. Now we have a shield that officially does that AND also a full recharge whenever you kill someone while charging. This... is perhaps one of the most awesome things that valve has ever spawned. You may say is op compared to the other shields, I say, the other shields need to get better at turning. Also, buff the Splendid Screen's resistances to match with the Tide Turner's or better.

I've heard "CONGA CONGA CONGA, LET US DANCE GENTLEMEN" a million times already and it's driving me up the wall.
I miss when taunts were just a quick funny thing you could do that didn't interrupt the game for more than a few seconds, not something you could use to troll your own team when they're losing and need you right now.

Traded someone today for a Strange Flamethrower with Extinguished and Post Humorous parts on it for 2.66 Ref so that was nice.

Am I the only one who wants this game to well...end? I realize it's still extremely popular and they're going to milk it for all it's worth until the end of time, but I want there to be a final update. I mean just a REALLY huge update to end TF2 with a bang. End the story in the comics, add a whole slew of new cosmetics, new taunts, new weapons, perfectly rebalanced weapons, new maps, a new game mode or two, and the biggest and most ambitious SFM movie to date. And then just stop, and any further updates are bugfixes or rebalanced weapons.

We only have three of the six promised comics in this mini-series, so it's not certain where those are heading. Considering it started with disbanding the mercs, it could be heading towards a game wrap-up and/or lead into TF3. But hats and keys are still easy money, so even if Valve did move on to another game they would likely still release cosmetic community items for as long as those items bring in more money than it costs to make them.

I enjoy playing them, because they do away with the "why the fuck did you guys vote for dustbowl AGAIN" feeling. Even if we play it endlessly, every two weeks or so it gets an update that can majorly change it, so it's not "Yeah, a sniper goes here, a sentry goes here, the scout gets behind them here, we all know the drill" and adds an extra level of interest to the maps.
Of course, of the times I've played catcuscanyon (and have yet to see a cactus) I've gotten to the third part exactly once.

I hope we get a Boss mode, like MvM but made for a larger team against a single large opponent. Weak points, flip it over, massive damage, etc. The bread monster from the recent short gave me the idea, and I was disappointed it wasn't part of the Love & War update.
Instead of the medic shield (which would be useless for this) the alternate-uber would make the target hulk out and grow huge for devastating damage.

The Halloween maps are almost always fun. However they do skimp quite a lot on cosmetics and items that you can use more than 30 days max a year while they seem perfectly ok with players running around in santa and christmas tree hats wearing elf booties and beating people with candy canes all the while releasing reskins on top of it.
This in comparison with the restricted items and a map that's only played 2 weeks on and then forgotten about and rarely revisited the next year makes the whole ScreamFortress thing rather underwhelming in any lasting way.

I personally never had problems fighting with the mini, with the exception of those times when there were 2 or more players backing it up and having it assissting them.
The hitbox is still huge, though. So far the thing doesn't even stay a chance now, and the sentry being the ability and the main source of damage of an engineer, yeah, I don't think how that is gonna work anymore when using it as it was already squishy to beging with.

The Stickybomb Launcher was never intended to be a purely defensive weapon. While it is without question the best weapon in the game, it functioning as a sentry counter is necessary. What else short of an übercharge reliably counters sentries? Rockets and grenades can be out-repaired and Spies need team support to do anything at all against a non-potato Engineer.
I'm not expecting a solution anytime soon though. Valve "balances" the game around bad players (e.g. Wrangler still has the shield, no Atomizer nerf, Reserve Shooter buff, nerfed Axtinguisher instead of Degreaser, bullshit DDS buff still not reverted), so nerfing stickies just turns Heavy-Medic combos into the new gamebreakers.

And as long as things like the -actual- wrangler exist, I wouldn't mind having the SL around more; one good example is mvm, bots aren't smart enough to get the work done but they do pack a lot of raw power, specially in groups. Actually, there are only 2 things I didn't like about the Mini-Sentry:

As a cherry on top, they can create Sexy outfits... for the male mercs only.

Why not? The accent might not applicable since each class has a region stereotype they play to (female mercs could expand this), but if Demoman can be African-Scottsman (Scottish?) then I don't see why skin color can't be mixed up for other classes. Body type wouldn't really be an option, because Valve has made it clear they have a heavy focus on silhouettes to make it easy to identify class from a distance. (This also means the female mercs would be constrained in their body type so they would have a silhouette roughly matching their male counterparts.) Actually, they already have body type accessories for the Engineer (going super-fat), but those are relatively minor.

My goal in suggesting it wasn't to please a minority (as you suggested, I don't know anyone--men or women--who complain about the lack of a female merc), but to rustle some jimmies (on both sides! I'm sure there would be feminists who will complain about the female mercs in some way) while probably also renewing interest in the game. At the very least, gaming media would be all over it. I am also highly interested in what Valve would do on an official basis.
Valve can only make so many hats, and since we've had an update for every class their "events" have been increasingly uninspired and haven't done much to change up gameplay. (Not that female mercs would change anything, gameplay-wise...) So it's either Team Fortress 3 or they start doing other kind of updates, and we know how Gaben feels about the number 3...

That's so gonna happen, according to most of rumors and the alpha release of Dota 2 Workshop Tools. Alongside L4D3 and HL3.
I can kinda understand where people are coming from about being hesitant about Valve implementing female skins because it's such a character-based universe and everyone is so well-established as an individual in terms of personality, voice, and appearance that it would feel like a copout to make them so moddable, like having a game where you can suddenly make Batman into a blond tan surfer dude that's not justified by it being a bonus Aquaman costume or something. And inserting original female mercs as their own characters would feel shoehorned considering it's such an old game that with the exception of Hale and some event bosses any new people are best left to the comics. If they go the latter route it should definitely be saved for a new game.
That said, I think female skins could still be implemented if there was an in-universe event where the cast got hit with a Rule 63 spell or something. Would circumvent the former issue since the characters are still ultimately the same people. It also has the potential to be extremely hilarious, give some talented modelers a boost-up, and they don't even have to record new lines, just pitch shift the current ones (which would be even funnier tbh). Long as they avoid any blatantly sexist jokes or general cheap "WHOA I GOT BOOOBIEES" humor it'll be fine for me and make me feel included, although Tumblr will always find an excuse to complain.

If they wanted to Deus Ex female mercs (femercs?) in, an alternate universe portal would work much better. After all, the game wouldn't force all female or all male (some servers might), and in-game there are somehow already "clones" of characters (the comics have never offered an explanation for this or even mentioned it, to my knowledge) so it would make more sense to present a female cast as co-existing with the original male cast.
Furthermore, a female cast that existed in their own right would allow Valve the opportunity to create new character setups without having to try to shoehorn in a 10th class. For example, the female Spy or Scout could be a ninja. The female Engineer could be a doughy New England professor. The female Heavy could be a Slavic or Canadian woodswoman ("Oh, mighty sorry about killing your entire team"). They could even have very different personalities; the only rigid requirements I can see are silhoutte ("class-at-a-distance") and weaponry.
I would be alright with a "whoops we're women now; well, time to kill the other women" setup, I guess, but avoiding that allows for much more potential. And, hey, maybe a larger cast would get Valve to release comics more thanevery two monthsonce a year!

First of all I'm a she, not that it should really make a difference. And second, it's not that such designs are terrible in and of themselves. I'd embrace them in the case that it was being used for a setting or aesthetic where it would make sense (TF2 not being one of them). It becomes a problem when it's being done in mass aggregate and so many goddamn people are making their unmasked Pyro into the same copycat mold of "90's era Punk Grrl" or something similar, like it's some fucking hipster fad.
Even the people who make maskless Pyro into a Mary Sue of themselves or a hunky male just for fapbait purposes are less creatively sterile. At least they're doing it for themselves rather than shallowly pandering to whatever the fauxcial justice community deems "cool" at the moment.

You know what the end-all worst thing about TF2 now is? It used to be that when the scoreboard popped up at the end, you could still tauntkill. Now you can't do that if you have multiple taunts installed.
Valve needs to do something about people abusing both the chat and votekick system on their servers.
Thought I could pinch a few pennies and buy a Mann Up ticket for slightly less through the market. Nope. Am I the only one who thinks it's super stupid that anyone lists a key or Mann Up ticket for even a penny more than they cost on the Valve store? It's like sitting outside a McDonald's and trying to sell a $1 cheeseburger for $2.

This problem mainly comes up in drama submissions. It's actually quite hard to tell a story with an appropriate amount of buildup and tension in just 5 minutes. That's why Til Death Do Us Part 3 isn't getting submitted this year. I think for Drama, they should extend the limit to 8 minutes or so.

There are videos where you can tell a story in five minutes or less. Not a deep story, not a complex story, but a story. I've posted some I think are great and fit in the five minutes: Ghost of the Past Ep2 (Ep1 isn't a requirement to enjoy it), Pudge the Butcher, Your Eternal Revenge (okay, that last one's comedy). If they extended the limit to 8 minutes, even if only for drama, then people would pad their videos to 8 minutes. There may also be the mistaken impression that longer=better.
Til Death Do Us Parts 1 and 2 were great for five minutes. While the creator does want to do a longer Part 3, there's no submission because he also wants to do MoCap and a bunch of other whiz-bang stuff which sounds cool, but I worry means it will be stuck in production hell. He did make an entry this year (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=318215119), and while the animation is excellent the Wheatley VA isn't great and it just cuts off at the end. I do love the idea though, so I hope we get a full version with proper ending.

Oh man, I remember way back when the Saxxy Awards started, when it revolved around the Replay function.
I used the same concept, except it was called "A day in Team Fortress 2: in 1 minute"; since I was alone on this, I went on a server (goldrush) and recorded everything and started editing. It didn't also help that I didn't have that much experience on editing videos, so I had to work only with what I knew and what I learned on the run (which were a lot of interesting things).
I still have the rendered video somewhere on my PC.
OH but let me tell you what was bullshit: Using the Replay function itself. I'm not going anywhere near it even if you paid me to do so.
Anyway, my real interest was getting a Saxxy, interest I lost because the next year Valve would make the Saxxy Awards revolve around SFM; they also included a single category dedicated to the Replay function, but everything it spawned was nothing compared to those from the SFM.
That, and also because of the introduction of the Golden Pan, which is without doubt infinitely better.
