It tries to be Gravity Falls a bit too much, especially with how well the kids take the supernatural existing... That said it has a very nice art style. But for some reason it just could not hold my attention.
>>420438 >kids outsmart FREAKING GOVERNMENT AGENTS with no trouble. Welcome to western animation, enjoy your stay. Honestly, it gets a bit cliche'd after a few decades of being the norm.
>>420462 More like "the children protagonists are good, therefore they need to defeat any foe (that is not the main villain) without effort, because the audience does not want any real struggle".
>>420463 The dual conspiracy; The big conspiracy that only the kids are privy to and the small conspiracy of the kids keeping what they’re doing secret from their parents as they would inhibit their work and be unable to do anything about the big conspiracy
I don't mean to bump an old thread, but oh well. :^) >>419920 Does anyone have a MEGA or something for the tie-in books? As well as the latest comic, since the MEGA for that is down. >>466905 Reminds me of my friend who LOVES Gumball, but has to deal with posters who want poor Gumball to fuck Nicole. And they post in every single thread.
>>419920 Did I make this thread? It looks like I made this thread. >>466837 >>466905 >>466901 4chan's Hilda thread were really good for the first four-five months after the show airing. People talked about it, drawfags took requests and even pedos were banned. But then people run out of stuff to talk about, jannies stopped caring and the threads got filled by a lot of identifags forcing their shitty "memes", the threads never came back to what they used to be, not even when S2 and the movie dropped, getting hijacked by pedoniggers was just part of that debacle. It's a shame, I miss Frida bullying, but at that point I just moved to Hispachan's Hilda threads and they were far better and more fun to read. I don't bother with 4chan's nowadays.
There's no need to complain, the show is really good and we can talk about it here, what do you like about it and what are you expecting from the next book?
>>423710 >Does anyone have a MEGA or something for the tie-in books? I have the first three books in Spanish. I also have the Audiobooks somewhere in my local disk but I can't find it right now, you could check this link: https://audiobookbay.lu/abss/hilda-bwooks-1-6-stephen-davies-luke-pearson/ But I'm not sure if it's working, it shows the list of files, but it's not detecting seeds right now.

Nevermind I found them. I'm going to drop them on internet archive later this week and share the url if anyone wants them. They are really good, Davies totally catches Luke's narratives and fixes several issues with the netflix show.
>>473130 Frida's marra is named Kelly, David's Marra is nameless, people from the crew referred to her as Twintails, but that's a nickname, she doesn't have a proper name.
Is season 3 good? I've been postponing that for a while and finally want to get it out of my backlog. Should I brace myself for kino or disappointment?
>>475779 It’s about the same quality as the first two. I noticed the animation is a lot more polished and high-quality than S2, that was true of S2 over S1 as well. Most people say it’s their least favourite season, same for me because it’s shorter than the other two and thus only has 1 “filler” trollberg episode, which were my favourites in S2. Highlights were that everyone seemingly loves the gang post-timeskip, that was done well. Hilda herself feels like a young woman now instead of a little tot
>>475818 Also there were meant to be 5 more episodes, presumably the trollberg filler it had little of, but Netflix cut them out because of contract shenanigans. Still no tell of what their plots were
>>475820 Overall a good season and the ageup gang was fun. Biggest issue is there wasn’t more of it. A lot of people say it’s more of a Johanna season this time which it kinda is. She takes part in most of the advebtures this time and the main plot is about her.
>>475879 Oh hey, good to see you Drawfug. Was wondering where some of our regulars had ended up during this time. I know I saw Kaze on the StuGo thread they've got here too. Seems like a couple of us found our way around.
>>477483 I made it long time ago. Fun times, it was a wild ride and I'm glad the comics are still coming up. I moved from 4chan a couple of months after S1 aired and mostly stayed on Hispachan (now 8chan). I'm glad you survived 4chan's fall. >>476486 Tide Mice and Johanna being okay with her child almost killing her was the stupidest shit and out of character she has ever been in the Netflix series, she would've killed her in the comicbook.
>>479984 Christianity doesn't exist in Hildaverse, you dumb dumb >>479989 >>479992 Considering we have a >>>/pco/ board for rule I'd just assume post your lewds there. But also considering we have a NSFW just use it for your lewds and you'll be fine. You can also ask admin on their /baw/ meta thread about the limits.
The NSFW button is there so an occasional adult pic doesn't need to be posted in another board or catboxed, so you don't have to open multiple boards/sites to post for ex. a comic that has one or two pages with tits out. It's not for exclusive/sustained porn dumps (we have a board for that), and definitely not for what looked like toddler porn. Basically, use it responsibly and in moderation.
I also consider it a tiered system that goes like: blue board -> /pco/ -> /cod/ or /coq/. I'm sure you'll find examples of where this is not held up exactly because this was never set in stone, this is just how I think it is sane. Because someone who explicitly avoids the red boards may be able to deal with an occasional sexy pinup like >>478654 (especially if forewarned), but would consider the /d/ stuff to be way too shocking.
>>480046 christianity would also basically need to re-write their doctrine to account for all the obvious magic and supernatural in their world either accept magics existence and only be against evil magic or just claim that magic only exists through God in the first place
>>480092 meant more in the sense that christian doctrine is in full-on alternate history mode in the hilda universe and has always been written with the supernatural factored into the church from day 1
>>480050 That's the thing about the Hildaverse, whatever magical shit you see there it's actually normal for trollbergians and everybody else. Think how creatures like Bengal tigers, giraffes, whales and Elephants are totally mundane for us while for Europeans in the middle ages they would be completely alien creatures. They would see trolls and giants just like we see whales or bears. Sure they might be scared but they are just part of everyday life, they aren't something to make fuss about. >>480093 I'm more interested in how Indian religion would work. Hinduism exists according to the last episode and thinking about it is quite fun.
>>480011 So it's mostly a personal moderation thing, with some exceptions, and with a bit of a flexibility depending on the context. Checks out. Thanks for clarifying.
>>480103 >Hinduism exists according to the last episode and thinking about it is quite fun. hanuman would have quite a bit of a laugh at how many adaptations of him there are
>>480103 As someone who loves cryptid and mythology creatures, I wish they would make more shows like this where they bring together many mythical creatures from other cultures.
Image:174539374209.png(238kB, 1440x1474)Werewolf Johanna_Still in work.png
>>480162 Not very good artist myself, but yes, I'm here in the meantime. I'm still working on my beefy werewolf Johanna, & as you can see, It's still unfinished, unfortunately. Trying to figure out the pose I want to make and analysis the muscular anatomy is a nightmare. But I'm still enjoying to draw my arts on my free time, regardless to my difficulty.
>>480229 I find very funny how the show never acknowledged the fact that she's so small despite Luke openly admiting he fucked it up with the proportions on Hildafolk. I guess Astrid being also short could be an explanation "her fairy genes played her unfairly", this could imply Johanna is tall because of her human mother.
>>480244 >hilda finally drawn taller in S3 >she finally looks a bit grown up >only for tall david to be revealed >everyone now goes back to making small hilda art
>>419920 Just started watching the show this morning and up to season two so far. Lurked the Hilda threads on 4chan/co/ for the past year or so now because it always looked interesting. I really love the art style of the show and the British accents of the cast has a certain charm to it.
>>480733 Please, for the love of god, watch it slowly. It's not meant to be binge watched and after watching it two episodes a week with a friend it's very clear that's the correct way to watch the show, there are cliff hangers which are meant to keep you interested and talk about it online, something that older shows like AT also did (no surprisingly, since Luke Pearson worked on AT too). What do you think about Hilda character in general? I noticed people trend to get polarized about that, some people really fucking love her because she's cute and lovely and other people really hate her because she's stubborn.
Watching this for the first time (finished episode 1) after seeing /co/ gush about it so much (and I'm in the mood for cute and /co/mfy) I'm enjoying it but should I read the comics first?
>>480780 Pretty much all the content in the comics are adapted in the show and actively improved on. There's the Hilda & Twig prequel comics that you can get to after you finish but that's about it.
>>480824 >>480838 I have to hard disagree with you, the comics develop further the lore, the fiest two have complementary pages that tell you about the trolls, giants very detailed maps and other similar stuff. Hilda character is quite different too, the entire comic focuses on Johanna and Hilda dynamics and she's as important as any other characters while S1 ignores completely this. Hilda is more stubborn and impulsive compared to the series which gives her room for character development later on. >>480780 I'd say watch S1 and then read the first 5 comics before starting S2.
