Someone dismissed the idea of such a thread but it actually seems worthwhile. A place where you can post links to videos you encounter and feel worth sharing or talk about particular channels you like.
https://www.youtube.com/user/jastownsendandson/videos To get it rolling would bring up the Townsends channel. Its about American colonial-era history and re-enactment and is ran by an extremely charming little man named Jon Townsend. Like there's alot of interesting historical details you can pick up there, but mainly I tend to watch the cooking episodes while eating, where they have him or some other people cooking 18th century recipes taken from cookbooks of the time. Its just an extremely comfy channel to watch. First got into it while I was bed-ridden for a time and not able to do very much.
So what things would other feel are worthwhile enough to share?
>>427066 Along the lines of cooking/food shows Binging with Babish is pretty good. https://www.youtube.com/c/bingingwithbabish
Now it has lost some of its 'purity' from early on when it was just a faceless dude infront of a camera making foods from tv and movies, he's got a bunch of other people helping him shoot episodes and even other cooks under his brand with their own subseries. But its still a good watch most of the time.
>>427397 This seems like a bad idea to let your horse do. Those things drop dead at the drop of the hat so wouldn't be surprised if swallowing rubber could mess one up.
This has been alot of youtube video links, so here is another channel suggestion. https://www.youtube.com/c/DJCummerbund
This guy does alot of music mashups featuring multiple songs. Has a sort of audio signature in many of them where he mixes in Randy Savage's attempts at being a musical artist.
Think they're pretty damn good, remember posting about it over on /mtv/ previously but is worth another mention.
Its a weird feeling looking at youtube animators that have continued to put out work for so long throughout my life.
Also from >>427687 seeing Nyanners go from just shitposter who did dumb voiceover skits and songs on her youtube account when I was a teenager becoming a big professional Vtuber idol entity.
People aren't recommending enough youtube channels. Here's one for a band I follow, anyone else listen to the music of Psychostick? Their stuff is honestly pretty good, as a 'comedy' band they still make better music than many more 'hardcore' groups.
>>429676 >What is your favourite RTS? I have FOSS bias and limited RTS experience, but 0 A.D. Very AoE-like, plenty of fun even offline, and still in active development.

I love British comedy, stand-up and the like. Or when you get 'quiz' shows that are just an excuse to throw together a group of mostly comedians with maybe some other celebrities into a format where the questions and points don't matter so much as a vehicle for humour.
A bunch of full episodes for one such series put up on their official youtube channel (might be a bit long for some but that's the format for this one being a more annual thing, being a quiz about the year) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmSr-0NSwOdtClRBPGL_tDcF-dO2CoqR7
Other shows of this nature that comes to mind are Mock the Week or 8 out of 10 Cats/8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
>>430346 The audiophile in me is annoyed that they used such a low quality version of the title song, but this is a fun trailer otherwise. Maybe a bit repetitive.
I lost it when he starts clobbering people with a Pepsi vending machine.
Started getting this warning appearing when I go to watch videos on youtube, it pausing the video. Doesn't seem like too much of an impediment since I can just dismiss it and play the video but it is somewhat worrying what it might progress to.
>>430516 >it is somewhat worrying what it might progress to. Then you haven't been paying attention for the past few years. Google is doing whatever it can to gimp the possibility of using adblock in Chrome, and since they control the platform, they can do this easily.
>>430520 I've got uBlock Origin on Chrome and sometimes Youtube will thus stop videos from playing but sometimes it won't (not sure what the difference is between those times)
>>430620 >also videos can be set to prevent embedding It seems that is increasingly becoming the case, maybe just a coincidence or maybe in reaction to adblockers getting around their new measures.
>>430972 >It seems that is increasingly becoming the case How so? They can't stop embeds, it would screw one of the biggest features of Youtube. Although I imagine they could suddenly turn all videos to "you can only view this on youtube", but that would also screw up videos which are actively used as parts of a website.
>>427066 I don't like the fat fucker in the glasses who does most of the cooking on the townsend channel now. Where the man himself was comfy to watch and listen to, that guy is the opposite, can't stand any content with him.
>>432171 I love how Morrigan is all pixelated, in a reference to the fact that Capcom used her 1994 sprites decades later, even in crossover games where it looked hilariously bad compared to the rest of the cast.
>>432544 Its interesting what kind of experiencing you can get out of chopping up songs that they are no longer legible but still enjoyable to listen to.
