Wallpaper thread.
This is a general purpose thread for computer and phone wallpapers.
I'm generally going to post 1680-1050 and 480-800 rez wallpapers, but other resolutions are fine too.

2 nature related wallpapers are already too big (huge resolution, above 3mb PNG).

Ooooh, I like these wallpapers, MT.

If you are having file size issues, open them in paint and re-save them as jpg.

I did not want to, but there was no choice.

Also, never resize a JPG. Convert to PNG, resize, and then compress again. That way the quality loss will be minimal.

I personally find opening in photoshop (probably similar in gimp as well) and saving as a .jpg will allow you to adjust the compression so as to find a balance between filesize and quality. Resizing is also quite good in those editors.

.jpg is reccommended for photography, while .png is optimal for sharper, computermade images.

PNG is also good for, say, saving high-quality comic book pages to keep their quality intact.

Yep, vector art (that is rasterized) is for .png.

I will admit, I should have said photoshop or gimp would have been better. I have a bad habit of referring to gimp as paint.

Oh, check 4chan's /wg/ sticky for some good shit. There are at least two good torrents (although one is over 20GB of wallpapers if you download all of it, and both have a substantial 'unsorted' folder).

20GBs of wallpapers is a lot of images. Personally, I'm more of a hunter-gather when it comes to my wallpaper collecting.

Hey, at least your collection is all quality. 20GB is bound to have some crap. (spoiler: it does)

I made a few Mandy lockscreens for my Galaxy S6 (mostly just tracing screencaps). I just cycle through them every time the screen locks.

(not making an imgur album because imgur compresses and has also become kind of annoying in general)
