Some friends who play touch rugby had a preseason match against an all-girls team. They instinctively tried to be careful about where to tag the girl players but ended up losing a heap of points at the start, so that modestly didn't last long.
Sport is sport, if you're not intentionally being a perv then it's fair game, players understand that.

Sure the later movies managed to surpass it in the level of garbage they descended to but it lead the way.

The problem with Alien 3 was that after the first two movies, there was no place to go. You already know everything that's going to happen: Facehugger latches on to some poor shmuck due to some circumstances (most of the time due to the cast being stupid, or being led on a trap by the "company"), an alien is born, and then they spend the rest of the movie in a cat and mouse chase where the alien systematically kills the survivors.

This has been the plot of nearly every Alien movie since then, and is the thing you expect out of every Alien movie. The only difference is where do the humans fuck up in a way to allow for the aliens to be born.

Also Alien 3 was subject to EXTREME executive meddling, it was doomed from the start.

There should have only been 2 Alien movies.

And one Predator movie.
