Well I'm generalizing based on what I remember from his art; but he draws every character older than they actually look like. He draws the avatar characters as practically adults.

Right one has a body that still has the frame of a child, but with the extra height, fat, and sexual features that puberty brings.

Yet his first statement is right, no matter if he's actually asked to trace his drawings, if he's only tracing and working on colors and shading, but not the basics as perspective, proportions, human anatomy, or drawing by his own instead of copying poses and faces, there's no actual improvement.
