I think the point Dank was making was that at a certain point those artists created a walled garden in which hinders fan engagement to a point where its non-existent. It turns from a hobby to a job. Work output and income becomes more important like any other job. Turning it into work sets deadlines. They can't engage any time instead of work like when it was a hobby. JAB has a forum and news blog for comments. Melkor has 120+ patrons and on his site creates posts for members to comment and vote. Reiq is very active on DeviantArt and FaceBook with over 100,000 watchers on DA and over 50,000 followers on FB. Reiq also streams on Picarto and is even invited to draw at DeviantArt's headquarters in Hollywood soon. They all also have to handle support for customer issues behind the scenes. To say these people are greedy because they do not engage more than they already do on top of their work loads is very unfair and even insulting to them and any artist in their situation.
