So here is the first page sketched out for the current $10 request. It's an unusual request as mentioned before, being a Star Wars parody crossover between Ben/Gwen and Aang/Toph, but it should be a bit fun to do. It's at least an amusing way to do some sexy cosplay/role playing. I've got an ending planned to make it make sense in a Loli Club fashion so that it's not completely random to those that may be bothered with that. Will sketch out another page next. Will just turn them into 2 page spreads when time to finish it up since I feel those make things look better with widescreens being standard and all.
Also, something about Katie's face seemed off to me in the thread starter so I modified it a bit. Also pulled her shoulder in a bit on the arm away from us. I'll post it next so let me know what you think of the changes.

Here are the slight edits I made to the thread starter. Something just didn't look right to me so I did minor adjustments. Mainly just felt the eyes needed to be rounded a little more and that her cheek went out a little bit too far.

Got a new phone plan with unlimited data so I can check comments here at work/on the go. Figured I would give it a try. Feel the need to respond to this to prevent any further foreskin/no foreskin discussion from erupting while I am out. I actually have signs of it most of the time. The only time I don't show any signs of undergarments is generally only when I feel they would not necessarily need to be visible, or when doing a quick Ben 10 thread starter and I don't feel like I have the time to add the extra detail (or because I like to imagine certain situations where characters don't wear any since it would just prove troublesome). I generally draw them going from beginning to take off clothing to fully nude because as someone else stated, unless it is requested, I do not feel it is necessary to dedicate multiple panels to characters undressing.

It's not really about it being challenging as much as it is about not wanting to have to completely change how the character looks in order to make it fit. I have never really been personally as interested in 34 that completely alters how a character looks. Slight stylization is fine, but having to completely remake the character to match a style is a bit much.

I figured that if Aang and Toph are going to play as the big bad evil guys then it is only appropriate that they use their powers. The shackles Toph put on Ben probably were not too noticeable in the sketch, but I plan to change up that panel a bit in the lines so that the wall is shooting out around his arms as opposed to already being around them as Gwen is struck by Aang's air blast.

I make a new vector line layer, turn on pen stabilization, switch the sketch layer to blue with a lower opacity then draw the lines over the sketch. The sketches look clean because I use a very thin pen tool and try my best to keep myself from going over the same line more than once so that I minimize that scratchy look that sketches often have.

Sadly there are no other characters planned beyond an additional page I plan to add at the end to wrap it up, which will only have a few other characters. This comic will not likely be any longer than 5 pages, maybe 6 pages at the most.

Yeah, I can't really froce myself to stay up that well at the moment. Even when there is not extra work there is still the problem of the heat around this time of year. The factory can get over 120 degrees on hot days, and last night was incredibly humid so it was killer.

Here is the sketch for page 4. Hoping to wrap it up in 2 more pages, 1 page for the ending as requested and then an additional page to make sense of it as a Loli Club thing. After I sketch out the next 2 pages I may do a quick $1 request before moving on to the lines/colors, just so I can say I did one this month. Hopefully I can have all of these pages sketched before the weekend is over. Also, for anyone who notices, I changed the type settings in this page. I made the font smaller but increased the spacing between characters. I have gone back and changed these settings in the previous pages as well to keep it consistent when I get to the final lines.

Thanks for the compliment. It has been quite enjoyable making the scenes/dialogue more and more ridiculous. Glad to see it seems to be working. I could have kept terms more closely related to the Star Wars theme, but the ending page will show why I make many references less accurate.

Here is the sketch for page 5 of the Star Wars parody. I ended up lying in my last post since this page was not the initially planned page 5, so there is still 2 pages to go. When it came to sketch it out I just ended up having more I wanted to add (AKA the girls turning things around) so I did. Now that I got that out of the way I can wrap up the parody part in one more page, then do the final page to wrap up the entire comic. Also, since this will be hitting 7 pages I may be moving it over to the comic section of my gallery when it is complete. I am thinking anything 5+ pages will be put there, whereas anything 4 or less will get 1 or 2 spreads and be put in the general gallery.

This is about it. In the first page she pretty much states that she accepts the challenge of resisting his dark froce. Physical resistance would not be very practical against a dark froce lord while being lifted on air with her legs restrained the way they are.

Not really sure if it would be worth the time to do that just for another update location. I'm not really sure how Twitter works, but I'm quite sure people would have to follow my page to receive updates, which would probably prevent most people from doing so, or would require them to make a separate Twitter account to do so. You did give me an idea, though; I'll have to check if Patreon allows me to send bulk messages to all currently processed patrons. That should effectively serve the same purpose without having to make a new account elsewhere.

Glad you like it. The narration made it easier to end the comic in fewer pages, but also served another purpose that leads to the upcoming page. As for the 'crawl', it's pretty much impossible to do so in comic page dialogue boxes. The crawl effect causes the words away from the viewer to be much more difficult to read, and this would especially be true without large, blocky fonts.

Gwen falling like that is one of the main reasons I suddenly wanted to draw Ben and Gwen getting released. I just thought it would be cute/funny so I did it. The holes in the end of the condoms were there solely to be able to draw a lot of fluids and have it make sense.
As to the picture, I like the context behind it. Personally I'd feel the dialogue should lead less to kissing/hugging and more to angry/annoyed sex, but that's just my own personal opinion. I've never been too big a fan of kissing as a whole anyway, so maybe I'm a bit biased on that, but that's the direction I would have taken it.

Yeah, I always liked that unfocused gaze. I don't find it unnatural though for her eyes to make contact, as it does happen at times since she can still turn towards who she has her attention towards. I'd imagine that is a habit she would have tried to develop despite her blindness, being from a rich/famous family and all where it likely would have been considered poor manners to not at least try.

Yeah, that's the main reason I don't feel it overly important to do so. I post everything on Jab now, which sorts by latest updates, so it's not like it's difficult to follow. Just takes a second to hop into my gallery and see if there's anything new at the top. Plus it takes time to send out a notification, which while it isn't a lot of time, there are a lot of things I do that do not take a lot of time, but together turn into a lot of time, so adding new steps is not really something I am interested in at the moment.

Wow, I cannot believe how low the resolution on that was. Haven't gone back and looked at any of my images that old so I never realized. I remember I really liked how that one turned out back then. Yeah, I don't really consider that a comic. A) Anything under 5 pages will get a spread or two and just be put in the general gallery, and B) that wasn't really a comic to begin with. While there is not as much demand for Alice as some of the other girls she is very iconic as far as animated 2D Disney lolis go. Nah, just back to being stupid and cutting out too much eat/sleep time. I'll likely have a 1-2 day crash within a week or so but hopefully I'll try and stop that from happening.
As a final note, I remember someone recently asking me if there was a simple comic that I'd personally like to do that fit within the current $10 request criteria. While I still want to do a few from the current list before doing much new, I have suddenly had a desire to draw a 3-4 page quickie of Ben and Gwen. Pretty much just Gwen waiting outside of a public restroom door, when suddenly it cracks and Ben confirms it's safe to come in. The two then rush to a stall and lock it up. Gwen casually tells Ben to make it quick so that grandpa Max doesn't come looking for them as she pulls her pants down slightly. She then kneels onto the toilet with her butt exposed so that her feet are not visible under the stall. Ben then pounds away (anal or vaginal does not matter to me) until they're both done. You can't go on like this, Incog. It's not healthy. Let me tell you a personal anecdote. When I began writing fanfiction, I posted the chapter as soon as it was finished, so pretty much like your pictures it was a chapter every 1-2 days. Surely, that’s fun, very exciting and reviewers love the daily updates, but it is also exhausting and sometimes I forced myself to write instead of sleep, even though I knew that I had important stuff to do the next morning.
What I did was very simple: Instead of posting the chapter as soon as it was finished, I simply moved to weekly updates. In two weeks I had enough chapters written for a month and half, and that was awesome because later that month (which was this past march) I had to take care of a person who needs special attention and I truly couldn’t write back then, so the spare chapters allowed me to keep posting nonetheless. In addition, as the chapters were posted longer before an update, I had more feedback per chapter which allowed me to improve and edit what I had waiting for posting.
All in all, what I’m trying to say is that next time it’s 1 AM and you are debating between drawing the sketch or going to sleep, just go to sleep. I’m not saying that you draw less, but that you reorganize your priorities and move the posting from daily to something more comfortable, for example to Fridays and Mondays. Besides, if you think about it, you’ll have more time to consider the pictures and people will have more time to appreciate the last one posted.
Now regarding Patreon, I don’t know about the other pledgers but I myself don’t see Patreon as an “I support you, so draw my stuff.”

Your Patreon is only to give you a small amount of income as a donation with the sole purpose of keeping you drawing, because we love your style and the way you make fluids, penises, small breasts and whatever reason (to each pledger their own). Just know that no pledger is going to get mad because you’re taking long to draw their idea. I feel the calves were drawn thick less because she was intended to have Chun-Li's thunder thighs and more because they didn't want to make it look like she had chicken legs due to the contrast of her wide dress. This seems more possible due to the fact that Disney also likes to give female characters very tiny feet, unlike the larger hands/feet of a lot of modern animation companies, so if the calves were kept thin it would look like a stick. It seems more practical that they were trying to keep the legs looking feminine with as little as was exposed as opposed to making it look like she does a lot of leg presses. Also, I don't feel they intended to make her legs look stretched when she was enlarged since they didn't put any effort into making the rest of her look stretched. She was drawn normally from what I could tell.
What I meant by the animation inconsistency is abundantly clear in the scene where she talks to the doorknob. When she is still normal size and is sitting to talk to him, her lower legs stick out the side of her dress and are thin. When she is standing up and talking after being shrunk, her legs are still thin but a little thicker now that they are contrasted against her legs, but when her butt is pushing back slightly as she puts her hands together to beg that he let her in they get very thick again. You could likely take screens from any scene that has movement and get a variety of leg thickness. It seems more often than not when her legs are drawn without the contrast of the dress (from the little bit that I looked at), they are drawn much thinner than when drawn fully standing.

In that screenshot the legs are actually not thick. The knees do not look muscular but more bony/pointy. Knees are mostly defined by the bone after all. Just look at the thickness of the arm compared to the thickness of the legs; they are practically the same, which is about what I would expect from a loli with her upper body proportions. As I commented above, from what I've looked at this is more consistently how they do it when more of her legs are visible with less of her dress to contrast with them.

Nani Pelekai has very disproportionate anatomy for a loli. Aang is playing the role of Chewbacca, the evil vulcan telekinetic gladiator.
Toph therefore must logically be Dejah Thoris, the human woman who was taken to another planet and saved the world with her skills at football, before being assimilated by the dahleks into their servant.
Ben is most probably Colonel Jack O'Neil, the retired military general who travels to Chewbacca's Cylon base through a magic teleportation device built into a wardrobe, although there's an outside chance he's Kevin Sorbo.

Yeah, I'm definitely seeing why comic producers often have one person on pencils, one on lines and another on colors. Doing all 3 takes so long, and when you have a preference for steps, having to do the others in between (colors for me) gets excruciating. I have way too many comic ideas in mind that I personally want to get to, so while I may be open to occasionally doing some random requests that catch my fancy, doing a comic on a whim is a bit much right now. Also, not quite that many pages was necessary to get that concept across. Just a brief summary would have been sufficient. There are quite a few ways to play off of the Omnitrix in that manner.

Well first I pretty much just open up a Notepad document and type in a brief summary of the dialogue/character interactions. Any specific angles/backdrops/anatomy that I want visible I will likely note in this document. Lately I have begun adding in the dialogue/speech bubbles once I have paneling/poses in mind, just to be sure I leave enough space for them as I finish the sketch process. While it was fun, it was mostly to rest my hands. I primarily use my hands at work, and when I am not at work I am generally drawing, which also uses my hands. Since the lines are the stage that require the most precision of the hands my hands get quite sore if I do too much linework too rapidly so I had to take a break before doing the next page.

I feel it to be very helpful. I sometimes even maneuver myself around to give myself a better idea as to how the body moves in certain ways, such as whether or not the torso moves backwards, or my legs would be further back/forward, etc. If I can't find a reference for something I am unsure of I can generally use myself.

Alrighty, last update on this tonight. Added more of a tilt to Toph's head. The head is now sketchier since I just went through and slanted them all as opposed to redrawing them and didn't want to spend a lot of time doing so. It's deliberate. I don't like the toothpick necks that the characters have in Ben 10. It works fine when animated but I'm not as much a fan of it when still. If I were to keep it 100% on model with the show things would also be a lot flatter whereas I like to add a little more anatomy to the characters.

Well flatter color wouldn't be JUST the bucket tool. It would still have values, but I would leave everything flat and only add cast shadows and/or just shadows against one side, unless it was a closeup shot of a specific body part. For example, instead of adding values for every finger, just add a solid line of value where fingers may be pulled back and then just a shadow against the side opposite the light source. If it's a closeup of a hand though, or the hand is an overall important aspect of the panel, then I would maybe add more detail in the values of said hand, but otherwise just the simpler method.
As for tones, yeah. It's pretty much just sticking with monochrome values. It's kind of how hentai manga/doujins do it when not in color. You just add value to highlight areas like breasts/genitals, brushing in light greys to be able to add highlights to make things look wet, etc. It saves a lot of time because I don't need to add flats to every detail and/or color all of the backgrounds. It also gives better capacity to fill things in with blacks/hatching to skimp on background details while still making it work/look good.

Here are the colors for page 2 of the Star Wars parody. Missed getting it done before July by about an hour but close enough. I will start on the calendar girl next to start a new thread then either immediately get back to coloring or sketch something else in between. Also, I fixed minor mistakes in the Toph animation as well as page 1 of this Star Wars comic.
Sorry for being late on this one but I've had a hell of a few days. Sadly tomorrow will not be much better but I will put in as much work into my next piece as possible. I am in quite the financial pickle after attempting to help someone else out, now down to a single vehicle to help everyone with and being so broke I've been living off of peanut butter sandwiches since bread is pretty much all I can afford while paying everyone's expenses (biggest problem being the state just continues to rob us blind...). I just found out earlier today that my last spare vehicle that I was letting people use is going to require a substantial sum of money to repair, costing way more than the vehicle's worth so I just scrapped it. Now I am finding out my job security is dipping pretty low since the company that I have been with for years now is dropping the ball hard and now risks losing the contract with the factory I work at. I would still be able to work for my current employer, so I am not worried about abrupt unemployment, but odds are I would be moved way on the other side of town, which would be more trouble than the job is worth. It also does not help that moving that far up north is an even worse area than I am in now since it is where most of the drug/violence problems around here originate.
I will explain things more in detail when I have a chance tomorrow. For now I have to go to bed very soon since I have to be up first thing again tomorrow to drive people around before going to work.
Long story short, I am going to be putting more thought into a higher pledge tier. I've been avoiding doing so as long as possible but things are pretty desperate right now. I definitely would not do enough of these that they would get in the way of my ability to deliver what I have been trying to regularly push out, just enough of them that maybe I can afford to do things like eat actual food. For now I'd pretty much just like to ask some questions as this month goes on to get an idea of what people think is reasonable.
I'm thinking of just making a tier that has a few slots a month for a guaranteed single image of up to 3 characters with a background, fully lined and colored. As long as they are not full comic pages I should be able to knock out images like this in 1-2 days, even with my current job. If I were able to get enough of them that I could not worry about work (with potential pending assistance I may be able to do so at far less money than initially assumed), I could likely do one a day without even interfering with my current output. The only requirements would be that a girl be in the image, no scat/flatulence/peeing/pregnancy/gore, no extreme anatomy such as dicknipples/breasts the size of a person/Snorlax body type. Sorry for anyone with these fetishes, but they really are not enjoyable to me so I'd have to pass in that regard. Also, the image would not be exclusive since I would still like to post it to the community, but I could definitely make sure to email it to the patron at full resolution and/or send the original document.
What do you all think to be a fair asking price for such conditions? This is something that is still not guaranteed to happen, but I definitely need to consider all of my options if I receive any more bad news.

Well tones would be significantly quicker to do. With colors EVERYTHING has to be colored or else anything not colored sticks out. Just laying flats throughout an entire comic page takes quite a bit of time. With tones most things can be left to black and white, adding only values to specific areas/details or areas/details that need to be accentuated in a panel. Toning would require minimal use of flats, equal or less shadows, and only enough detail to accentuate things like blush/shine/nipples/etc.
The process would be very much the same, except much less to do but losing the benefit of being full color. This just leaves me torn between less color with more output, or less output but more color. I like when a set finally comes together in full color, but the process of making a new page/story is much more enjoyable than the coloring process.

Yeah, that was originally what I was hoping to do since I know Luke wears white at times, but as someone else stated, as far as I know, Luke only really has the green lightsaber when he is in the black outfit. Green is much more Ben's color than a blue lightsaber.

I agree. I never really did have a problem with flatter colors. I personally find the overall theme of 34 to be more important than a lot of details, but I tend to get caught wanting to add a lot of detail because I feel it adds to an overall drawing. Makes it difficult to find a middle ground that I am fully satisfied with.

With that said, let’s have a look at how much are you expending into food. A loaf of bread costs $1.99 and it usually comes with 17 slices. Assuming you’re having your three daily meals, that would last you three days so you need to spend $20 per month in bread. 40oz of creamy peanut butter costs $6 and let’s assume you buy one of those each week, summing it up to a total of $44 per month in food.
Dude Incog, considering the minimum wage in the USA is around $1000 plus the $300 from your Patreon, how much of your money are you using for paying everyone’s expenses so that you are left with only $44 for food? Of course there is also the rent, water, electricity, gas… but $44?

Fair? Honestly, like 50-100 bucks a month. Its hard to be fair when its a static price for a non static image. You get "more value" off three characters than you do off 1, for example. Without taking comms directly, where you can adjust the prices to be "fair", I think the only way to be fair would be having 3 different new tiers, each devoted to 1, 2, or 3 figures, at something like 50-75-100 a month. Don't know how successful that would be for you though. You could charge less, but really, full color with 3 figures and a background from just about ANY artist, especially one that can put out quality like yours, goes for around that much.
Also, the month just started, so payments are already out. Would take a full month before you could be "sure" people paid for their slots.
If you choose to go this route, I'll definitely take the highest tier. I want to make sure you can keep doing your thing, and I have no problem working a 100% sure thing into my monthly budget, but I still feel like it would be easier for you, if you need the money this month, to just take comms directly until you even things out. Or at least until next month when the next set of payments go out.

I don't have any doubt that you can probably find a few willing supporters at higher prices than you might expect. Western Loli R34 isn't a niche being filled by too many artists as prolific and uniquely talented as you are. If you set this tier at $75-$150, I imagine you'd be able to find a handful of supporters willing to provide that kind of support on a regular basis. Another option you can do is to raise your existing tiers by $2-5 each. You won't lose too many patrons while significantly increasing your revenue.

Exactly. It's like comissioning a Master to paint the walls of a chapel. People will pay whatever you charge just to get your interpretation on their visions. Have maybe a 3-correction limit while it's still in sketches though, ie: they can't ask for any more changes by the time it's inked.

Exactly incog there's way too much dead weight youre carrying you need to think letting go of. You're being drained bro. Extorted. Also coloring should logically be on a higher tier because it takes up extra time, time that could be used to work on other commissions. So you could maybe get back to coloring a finished line piece later down the line once the requestor coughs up the funds. Could offer more flexibility this way.
Incog, drop everything and spend your energy working on a new system you believe to be fair. Then throw it at us. Gauge our reactions. You'll know if it's fair or otherwise. If people abuse you and call you a cheat and a thief (which I highly, highly doubt), then you'll know the system needs modifying. The sooner you make your offer the better. I think everybody's patient enough to give it a try. If not, then they're either autistic or don't know who you are or your situation.

I do think there's a bit of room for compromise though. A small increase around the board, or maybe moving colored comics to a separate tier at $15 (but if you don't want to increase your pledge, you can always just choose "color a previous comic" as your monthly suggestion for your $10 pledge, so you still probably get colored comics, it just takes you twice as long and you get a discount for paying more up front), as well as a few high-priced "guaranteed drawing" slots could help Incog a lot without being too onerous on the fanbase.
Maybe grandfather in old suggestions at the $10 tier still being colored so they don't feel cheated.

Keep us posted incog. If for some reason you're overwhelmed by the idea of commission work then opt out. You're a one-page-a-day artist who's gotten better and faster with all the practice you've had so far, I think you could definitely handle the workload, especially for those more basic single-image requests. They'll probably form the majority of work alongside pages of comics. Either way, those who want their very own incog drawing will pay fairly for it. So no new drawing yet since I've been out from 8AM-11PM, leaving no time to draw yet. Just popping in to give an update/respond to comments, then I'll have to eat/shower and such then I'll try and start on a sketch if I don't pass out first.
Today took all day but actually went rather well. My situation isn't all that much better, but I got the extra person that's sleeping on the couch about 10 feet from me a full-time job today. Hopefully this means I do not have to help them much longer, but it is a temp job so we'll see in 90 days if they get hired. Sadly no good news yet concerning my own job and the odds of it getting renewed after this month but I'll worry about that when it gets there. For now I'll just keep on track with discussing my options. This may take 2 or more posts due to character restrictions but we'll see.

As mentioned before, lack of competition keeps prices high here. Car insurance is not local only so I have options there, but with my vehicles I was paying over $150/month just to be able to drive, not including gas/maintenance. Luckily it will only be about $50 a month due to other vehicles now being gone, but that does not kick in until end of this month. Due to the fact that I only have one option for gas/electric, and that we have crappy old meters, the place I am paying for right now charges ridiculous amounts. When I got this place for the initial person there was one person living in a one bedroom apartment with no TV, no computer/internet, nothing electronic at all really aside for their cell phone, and heat was never turned above 60, if used at all. Gas was supposed to be included in rent but the landlord still gets away with refusing to pay it. The bill in these conditions for gas/electric has been roughly $200/month, paying $150 a month just on a shutoff protection plan while continuing to build up the excess in debt. Since the new owner took over everybody has had their utilities increase significantly, but our only options are to pay or not have heat/power since there is nowhere else to turn to for these utilities.
As you can see, the extra money from Patreon is just about able to cover insuring my car and having heat/power. Then there is filling a tank and a half in gas each week, which is about 40 more dollars, meaning about $160 a month just in gas. This means just having a means to get around costs about 300 a month, not including oil changes and other maintenance. There is also practically no competition on internet where I live, so I have no choice but to spend like $50 a month for bad speed/bandwidth. The only competitor's only service offers 3MB down for $54 a month via contract, which goes up after a year. The only real good part about who I went with is that it is no contract, but the service/price ratio is still stupid. Since I am planning to be out of here before the internet contract would be up there really is no choice.
Outside of all of this there is still rent (which continues to go up to stupid amounts due to shady landlord), healthcare contributions (mandatory or else I take an even bigger hit come tax season), food, health/hygiene products, phone bills, and whatever else the month may call for. I make barely over minimum wage, so financing requires me to pinch every penny. These bills should not be nearly as high as they are and should hopefully go down drastically once I can free everyone of this lease from hell. Sadly all we can do is keep paying out for now since legal action takes so damn long and will raise costs even further; I can't really just let everyone end up homeless because the system thinks we can afford to wait for it to take its sweet time with everything.

Well the month just starting is why I wanted to bring it up. If I feel it necessary and can get something decided
within a week or two, that gives me time to set things up and open communication with anyone that pledges. I would want to verify requests/conditions before payments process, and then draw said images after payments process to prevent people from being able to bail out before the month ends, thus skipping out on payment. So pretty much payments taken out on the 1st of August would apply to the requests made in July. Patreon is working on making instant payments available for people that make new pledges/raise their pledge amount, but this is only available to certain creators, of which I am not one of.
I may consider doing the different tiers that you mentioned. It really does take quite a few hours to do an image from start>finish, especially with multiple characters. I don't like the idea of making prices too high, but since these pledges are not really mandatory anyway a 50/75/100 model may work. It's not like it will hurt if people feel it is too high, and I have been offered higher amounts before. I'd like to keep prices low but I really would like to be able to do enough that I could cut out my job out completely, thus allowing such a model to not interfere with my current normal workflow. Doing the guaranteed pledges would be like work and doing the other stuff would be my free time.
Of course any model will get in the way at first since I will still be maintaining a job so I will try and do just a few images a month. As such I may just stick with a single template at around $75-$100, that way I only need to do a few each month to make the impact I need and can spend more time continuing on with my usual flow.

I've done some pretty bad jobs. I've dealt with random people over the phone, worked factories, scrubbed public toilets, etc., all for minimal pay. With how much I am enjoying drawing now that I have some decent hardware I am sure I could handle drawing a few pictures a month that are a little outside of my preference zone. I can assure I do not get too far outside of this preference zone by discussing the request with these people prior to the month's end. As stated previously, I will definitely try and not do any more than a few each month, if any. I can control the amount of slots available for the pledge so I can choose how many I feel I can afford to do without messing up my ability to do other tiers. If it seems to work out well it can give me an idea on whether or not I feel I can get something going to free up more time in life to do more without cutting into other projects I have planned.

Well one of the problems I feel many people would have is that I use Clip Studio Paint, so they're actually .CLIP files. I could convert them to .PSD as well, but some layer information is often lost when converting from .CLIP>.PSD or vice versa. I pretty much just use Photoshop for dialogue/bubbles and Clip Studio Paint for everything else. Regardless, since many people seem to have interest in the topic, and given that my process is quite simple, I may make a tutorial image for people the next time I want to do something but am too worn out to concentrate on finishing a drawing. It really wouldn't be difficult at all since there are not many steps.

Well it's not like the tier is mandatory, the lower tiers will still be present, plus there would be very limited slots of the higher tier since I don't to risk too many people pledging for guaranteed images since time is limited. Also, pledges can also be reduced at any time, so if you got in one month but then felt that was all you wanted or couldn't do a second month you could just drop out or reduce your pledge amount. I myself could not afford to pledge to myself so I don't get upset if anyone has to drop out/reduce.

Well I definitely don't want to raise my currently existing tiers since I want to keep the lower tiers to offer chances of rewards for anyone that contributes, even if just a single dollar. I have been going a bit excessive with what I do for $10 tiers so I'll need to start keeping it within my originally anticipated guidelines of 2-4 pages maximum, which if I could drop my job one could easily be done in just a few or even a couple of days. The only way I would really do any changes to the current setup for the lower tiers is if I really just wanted to stick to larger projects more, focusing solely on longer comics, but this would be more of a personal decision that could maybe happen in the future and is not something I would do for financial reasons.

Well I feel that would be a bit much although it could admittedly still have the potential to work. Sure, there would be a hell of a lot less people pledging, but any people pledging would definitely have much better odds of having something done each month. I strongly feel though that people would feel a lot more regret and be a lot more likely to drop out if they pledged a $50 pledge and their request was not performed in a month or two. Regardless, not really an option I'd like to go. If I were to reach values that high I would rather just do more guaranteed images to hopefully leave less people dissatisfied with their decision.

Well, I do reference color selection off of screenshots, but I cannot just sample colors directly. It generally requires modification to get the colors to work since different sources tend to use color templates in vastly different ways, plus screenshots of from varying quality sources can result in some pretty poor results.

That is perhaps the only thing I have considered reducing for the $10 requests. Not really to just make them lines, but use blacks/tones like in a manga as opposed to full colors. I would likely do something like that if I did change anything. I definitely wouldn't want to just cut off old requests. The only other thing I could really think of if I wanted to remove colors would be to hold a vote each month on if patrons wanted me to color a previously made comic or if they would rather I start on a new project. This would give me an idea of what kinds of comics my patrons prefer overall as well as let me know if people would rather wait and have projects colored or to receive newer content instead.

Yeah, I definitely feel I could handle it which is why I am considering it more. Plus thinking about how many more projects I could get to faster if I could drop my job is a huge motivator. The end goal is primarily to really be able to do more and not to let this concept get in the way of current works. Luckily with me helping someone else get a job today I may not have to jump on the idea so soon after all since I really do want to save the idea for when I am more caught up just to prevent myself from falling further behind. I have considered though just picking up as many as there are weekends in the week since I know I could knock out a standalone image in a single weekend, even if with 3-4 figures and fully colored.

Probably the right call. Too many images he HAS to do might be a little overwhelming. I think he has the time for a lot every month, when he is on his one thing a day schedule, but because its not really a choice anymore, it would probably be a bit harder. And he has to balance it with the rest of his patrons. If he gets so filled up with the 100% sure thing tiers, then his other patrons will get nothing, or next to nothing, which wouldn't work either.

I would likely mention it to my current patrons first to reserve slots for anyone interested. I have some patrons that pledge a decent amount each month as it is, and if the new tiers are not too far from their pledge I would definitely want to give them the chance to bump up first. This would make the increase less since I would be technically losing their current pledge in the process but I wouldn't feel right not offering up to current contributors first.

The reason is because by having payments only taken at the start of the month after you pledge it was always a big problem that people would pledge, take advantage of the pledge benefits, but dip out at the end of the month before payments were processed on the 1st. I'm not sure but I think they have made it so that people cannot access patron pages until their first payment is processed, but that makes people that pledge early in the month wait a whole month before they can do anything. By having payments taken as soon as someone pledges for the first time, or by having them pay the difference when they increase their pledge, it allows people to take advantage of their pledge benefits immediately.
Since I do not have access to this feature yet all I can do is wait for payments to process before doing the work so that people cannot skip out after I finish.

Well as stated before I don't want to reduce the earlier tiers, especially the $1 and $5. Separating colors in the $10 tier has been something I mentioned as a consideration from the start, since they do take a while, but it's still not something I'd like to do yet. The only way I would want to change pledges around in the manner mentioned is if I get way too many pledges in each tier. If in the long run I feel doing a single request takes too long solely due to colors I feel that will also discourage people from pledging on a chance of having something done. Realistically odds will go down as more people pledge, especially if I just stick to a few requests a month. Doing only one or two $5 requests a month makes the pledge a lot less beneficial for patrons if they are making one of 100 requests. I don't like the idea of raising pledge amounts, but I also don't like the idea of having people pledge with very little chance of receiving anything in return. It's a balance I'll have to keep thinking about.
The guaranteed image will definitely be limited to only a few each month. I was already thinking about 3-4 of them to start since that wouldn't really require more than one a week so it seems a safe way to start. If I am able to make enough from Patreon that I feel I can take a break from working to really try and pick things up (seeming a lot more likely if someone here gets hired permanently after 90 days of their temp job), I'll be able to take on more drawing without interfering at all with how I already do things.

Oh, my bad. It is actually a feature they are just beginning to implement. From what I read they only have it available for a small selection of creators. Making a big change to payment processing is something they would have to take extreme caution with so they are likely still working out any bugs/problems it may cause before implementing it for everyone.

Well apparently I may need to take a better look at the balance between these. I will try and save doing so for after I am a bit more caught up, but I have noticed my patrons keep dropping every month. It may have to do with me focusing on past requests instead of focusing so much on new requests so I will not put too much thought into it at the moment, but there was a time I was up to 100 patrons about 2 months ago and am now down to 82. Payout during these months have only varied by give or take $5 so it doesn't seem to affect much but it still leaves me feeling people are perhaps dissatisfied with the current layout and I should maybe take a look at it.

In terms of making money amount per pledge can mean a heck of a lot more than number of overall pledgers. I'm sure if you create the new 50 dollar or whatever tiers, they will probably fill, and you will make way more than you do now.

The only thing I might suggest to increase your throughput is try not to go overboard on requests... I know sometimes you enjoy a request and decide to turn what's a $5 request into a multipage colored comic just because you like the idea, and that's great in theory, but... if there are lots of ideas you like, it's okay to just leave it at the tier they paid for and focus on another request you also like that. Then you can satisfy more people. Likewise if sometimes you have comics that turn out to be way longer than you request, I think it's okay to say something like "Hey, only the first 4 pages are going to count on this request, but I'd love to continue if you request it again next month!" Then more people's requests get done and less people feel upset because (for example, I'm not criticising the recent choice because it was a really fun comic) you spent half your month's working time on a 7 page colored comic.
And also, I don't know if you do this already, but, if you don't, don't be afraid to contact your supporters on patron to limit scope on their requests in this way or suggest compromises based on multi-month patronship. Personally, I'd be honored if you said to me, "I really like this idea but I can't do all of it... but if you'd like, I can either do half for this request cycle and you can make completing it your request next time and I'll probably choose it... or if you prefer I can do a very compressed version that probably won't be as satisfying but fits within the pledge amount" or "I like your idea and would love to expand this into a longer work but if we did it the way I want to it'd have to count as your request for multiple cycles in a row, so it's your call which we do")... and I'd probably choose to wait the extra couple months (all the while I'm still a patron) for the longer deluxe treatment, even if it means having to put off one of my many other ideas for that cycle (well, some ideas I might be happy to go with the compressed version too, I guess, depends on how into it I am).

A piece can be knocked out really fast when it's not a full comic page. A comic page takes significantly longer when you consider all of the steps that go into laying it out. I've recently seen someone mention it sort of like putting together a puzzle. You have to decide where to place the figures, what angles/poses to use, leave enough space for the dialogue, all while thinking of how to place the panels so that it does not flow in a confusing way. It still takes a bit of time, but fully sketching/lining/coloring a standalone image generally takes less time than sketching out and adding dialogue to a comic page before any lines or colors.

Happy loli is best loli. As far as requests, I don't plan to do everyone's request each month. Doing so is is simply not possible. Right now I am trying to plow through as many requests as I can to sort of make up for getting set back back so much on what I stated I would do. When I get caught back up I would like to host votes again for which ones I will do, but that will be after I finish getting $5 and $10 requests caught up. As stated before, I don't really want to increase pledge requirements, but that doesn't mean it may not happen in the future for reasons I stated prior. If I feel the quantity of requests start to become too cumbersome I may very well try and increase pledge amounts simply to give a better chance of people getting something in return for investment. I would, however, try and keep up posts for a while for previous requests to be grandfathered in as to hopefully not leave anyone feeling ripped off.

That is definitely true. I have acknowledged I need to keep it that way once I am done with these current ones I have started already. I really need to keep $10 requests at 4 or fewer pages, and stop doing comic pages for the other tiers. As much as I like doing more with them it is proving to be impractical, especially since the guidelines were not made with it in mind.

I tend to contact my patrons when I have some form of question/comment/concern about a request but there is not really time to respond to requests otherwise. Generally I will leave a comment on the request itself but for more extensive discussion I will send PMs.

Well that is how I have wanted to do it from the beginning. I kind of just wanted to do 3 line requests, 2 color requests and a single 2-4 page comic request. This was not set in stone but was what I was thinking initially. Sadly I went too big on requests I fulfilled and life kicked me in the ass while doing so. This caused me to land in the predicament I am in now as I try and catch up.
Keeping with this template I would have likely been able to knock out all requests in like 2 weeks tops, leaving the rest of the month for whatever. If I am able to get enough to cut out work I could knock all of these out in about a week, leaving the rest of the month available to do guaranteed requests as well as any other project(s) I wanted to get to.

I don't see any problems with it. Are you perhaps unaware that, despite each individual page being done in 2016, the calendar is actually a 2017 calendar (so that when it's done, you have a complete 2017 calendar all ready to go for 2017)
