The real problem is that they change their appearance once every two or so years. So whenever a hot as hell design comes up, there's an extremely slim chance of it getting any porn, unless the artist also follows the books closely. The only exceptions seem to be the cartoon designs.

You can't do much about that when we are talking about a medium that has no fix "models" beyond certain features a character must have (hair color for example). Every artist draws her face differently. There was a time when comics drew Wolverine almost the same height as Cyclops despite Logan always having been over a head shorter, or Humberto Ramos who draws everyone with a gigantic neck, etc...
