the strange thing about chinese culture is that new ideas are not exactly encouraged. it might be due to western decoumentaries I've seen about them but they are verry adamant about tradition, old values and sticking to what works. that is why they are more likely to copy stuff that works from other countires than come up with something new of their own. IT also showcases another big problem for the country, the lack of girls. I think it's a great place for networking. I've never found a better place for attracting a larger, wider, more eclectic audience, getting an instant response good or bad, interacting with the audience whether with comments or PMs. Honestly 99.9% of the people I interacted with were chill. Tumblr's strength is also its great weakness, since you only have to attract the notice of a single nazi pigfucker who wants to ruin the fun for everybody.

It'd be easy enough to start a new blog, but with tumblr's system I think they only give you so many strikes before they nuke your entire account. I don't want to sacrifice the webcomic project I'm starting just for a throwaway porn blog.

Pixiv's got its own host of problems. The site is unfriendly to casual consumers, I can't understand half the interface, the language barrier renders the tagging system fundamentally broken, and, being japanese, it's got its own ridiculous set of censorship rules. Most of the stuff flies under the radar, just like it does on tumblr, but it would only take one committed asshole a little time to figure out how to use the report system to ruin the fun.

Tumblr is useless, much like Twitter and the like. It only lets you share images without the ability to receive comments for them - all you get is "notes" on how many people viewed it. A dedicated image hosting site like FA or DA are so much better for this purpose. Not to mention the insane "load part of the page only" system of Tumblr, which makes scrolling tedious and if you ever push backspace, you are screwed.

I've noticed that the "Blue Cat Mom" tumblr is gone now too.
