The post of an Anon from the previous thread has moved me and motivated me to continue work on a greentext i have long left neglected (due to collage related miseries), I can't promise the work will continue (due to the same collage related miseries), never the less. TONIGHT ON GASLIGHT DRONES: J NEARLY FUCKING DIES, ANON BECOMES A DAYWALKER AND GETS DIABLORIZED, AND I FUCK UP MY SLEEP SCHEDULE
>You awake, dazed and confused >You feel as if your lungs were filled with liquid >You begin to wheeze and heave on instinct, yet to no avail no fluid leaves your body >After a while of spazming and choking on the floor the sensation begins to lessen >You lay on the floor staring into the ceiling of the drop pod >Something feels off, you don’t remember much of yesterday >You feel a draft >That’s impossible, the only way for wind to get in is through the hatch and if its open you’d be dead >You begin to recall yesterday night >The Mask >You begin to touch your face >You feel the sensation of touching your own flesh >You put a finger in your mouth just to make sure >Opening your mouth takes a lot of effort, for some reason parting your lips feels as if you never done it before >You begin to survey your mouth >You can feel your tongue >…. >AS LONG AS IT ALWAYS WAS >You count your teeth > FORTY, AS SHARP AS THEY ALWAYS WERE >You breathe a sigh of relief and pull your finger out of your mouth >A thick trail of saliva follows, its rather sticky >Maybe your diet of mystery meat has something to do with this >Never mind that where’s J? >You gather your strength and stand up >Your legs are shaky and you need a while to catch your balance >As you stand up you look around the pod >The hatch is indeed open, yet you still breathe >More importantly, J sits slumped underneath it >In the middle of the floor is a puddle of some dried liquid >Blood, it has black bubbles mixed in >Is it… yours? >Your worry about the spill is quickly swept aside by J >”Hey Boss,… You’re awake…” >Her voice is weak and raspy >You ask J what happened >Warning messages begin to flash on her screen, her breaths are fast and shallow and she needs a while to respond >”The rebreather… Tried cutting it off… took a while… you fainted” >That would explain the blood puddle, still the procedure was a success and you feels like it didn’t receive any major damage >You thank J for getting the rebreather of your face >She gives you a confused look >”Ain’t nothing Tess… Listen, could you… Return the favor?” >You squat beside her and nod >”Great… I have a bit of a … Overheating problem… couldn’t get any coolant yesterday” >That explains why she was always sipping on those oil cans, and here you thought she just liked crazy straws >”Could you get… some coolant for me… anything will work… Oil will work best” >She put in a lot of effort in that last part >You oblige at first but then remember the air outside is toxic and your only means of portable air filtration tried to integrate with your face >”Oh that…” >She pauses for a moment >”… There was a blow out yesterday… the tox clouds moved… you should be fine” >That explains why the hatch is open >Alright, no time to waste, you ask J for a few pointers and begin to leave >As you do the broken mirror catches your eye >You look into it but can’t see your reflection >The glass looks blurry you think about wiping it with your hand but an overheat warning on J’s screen reminds you that there are more pressing matters >You reach the entrance of the corpse spire and hesitate >You haven’t left this place in what feels like ages >The sun is shining extremely bright outside >That’s good, it will probably help you not freeze to death >Your eyes have trouble adapting to the light >These days spent in what is essentially a dark cave are probably the culprit >After a while you push on
>>197722 >You emerge into the snowy wastes, J told you that there is a warehouse nearby that should have something that can help >It should be somewhere west from here, in the outskirts of the town >You move at a remarkably good pace, one would think that staying indoors and eating highly processed synth meat or whatever J was feeding you would have negative effects on your health but you seem to be as fit as ever >After some time you halt your march, you can sort of see the warehouse in the distance >There’s something else though >Two sets of foot prints >Looks like small work boots >Maybe the rogue workers J was talking about? >From what she told you they’re remarkably dangerous, and wiped out all human life on this planet >She may have her... quirks but you have a feeling J is genuinely concerned for your well being >She has no reason to lie about something like that >That means you are currently walking into danger >Still you can’t come back empty handed >J will overheat and… die? >Come to think of it she’s a machine, can’t she just turn herself off until she cools? >Maybe she can’t? >She probably would have already done that if she could >As you lost yourself in thought you didn’t notice yourself begin to follow the foot prints as if on some instinct >As you realize what you are doing you find yourself low to the ground, scanning your surroundings for… PREY… the workers in case they would try to ambush you >The tracks end at the entrance to a warehouse, far west, in the outskirts >Well they came here for something, means there’s good chances you’ll find something to help J >You enter the building and are rather pleasantly surprised, its not as dark as you thought it would be >There is no windows or light sources but the place looks as it was at least dimly lit >You stand in an entryway, a reception area of sorts there is a stairway you take the stairs down, everything on the higher floors has been already picked clean >The building goes three floors underground >You are deep underground but can see as well as on the top floor, maybe there is some light source and you just can’t see it? >An emergency light… would it last that long? >Never mind, need to find coolant and come back as quickly as possible >The storage shelves are filled with rotten cardboard boxes with faded labels >This will take a while >Your search takes you deeper into the storage >You begin to hear noises from in front of you >As you move forward, the noises become louder >Eventual you can hear them clearly, voices >One masculine, the other feminine >”You sure its in here?” >”Come on Cait, when was the last time I was wrong about something like this” >”Every time for the past two weeks” >”Oh come one those were isolated incidents” >As the voices squabble you draw closer >Eventually you see them, two workers, both with flash lights they’re not looking your way, to focused with themselves >You quickly take cover behind one of the shelves and begin to observe >While doing so you accidentally knock one of the boxes from the shelve to the ground >It falls with a soft thump >In fear you quickly reach for the box to hide it, but its no use >The light of their flashlights shines on you >You look in their direction >Your eyes meet theirs, their mouths open agape, they just… stand there >Quickly you retreat into the shadows of a nearby alley and listen >”WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?” >”I DUNNO, WE GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE!” >Not the response you expected from killer robots, but that’s the second time such a thing happens >They seem as afraid of you as you are of them, maybe if you show them “THAT” is not going to hurt them they will help you? >Worth a shot >You can hear their footsteps, they are coming towards you >Neat, you just need to round the corner and talk to them >You emerge from behind a shelve, but before you can open your mouth and say something one of the drones skewers your stomach with a makeshift spear >The shaft fully penetrates your body
>>197727 >It hurts, but not... enough >This should send you to the ground, but you can still stand >You look down onto the drone, the spear still in its hands >There is an expression of fear on his visor >The other one is standing just behind also gripped by fear >You stare at them for a second >The first drone tries to dislodge the spear from your body >You catch one of his arms and attempt to yank it away from the shaft of the spear >With a flick of your wrist you tear the arm of >The drone yelps, falls to his knees and begins clutching the place where his arms used to be >Oil begins to spew from the opening >OIL >J needs that... >...but >You begin to drool, your gaze focuses on the oil leaking from the drone >Then your vision darkens, everything becomes blurry >You don’t see the drones in front of you anymore >You don’t see the interior of the warehouse >You’re inside some room >Wooden floor, mahogany walls with elaborate finishes, there is a few tables and chairs >J is sitting on one of them >She looks different, she’s not wearing her usual skirt-suit combo instead its a maid dress >She seems lost in thought, looking down not paying attention to you >You come closer and place your hand on her shoulder >She recoils and looks up at you, disbelief on her face >She begins to speak, you can’t hear her >Your vision begins to darken and blur again >You stand outside >How did you get here? >You’re some half way away from the drop pod >You’re holding some sort of vessel filled with a deep dark liquid >Oil, in a … bowl >Well, something happened >You should get back to J, you don’t know how’s she holding up >You can feel something on your mouth >You lick your lips >Something incredibly sweat >The taste >Its great >Intoxicating >You can’t get enough of it >You get a hold of yourself and start moving towards the corpse spire >You reach the drop pod and enter through the still open hatch >To your surprise J is not laying where she last was >She’s nowhere to be seen at all >The blood puddle is gone as well >Maybe she got better? >Still you cry out for her, telling her that you get her a …. >You inspect the vessel closely >Its not a bowl >Its an emptied out head of a drone filled with oil >Suddenly you feel something fall onto your head >Some form of liquid >You look up >Its J, hanging from the ceiling >Before you can do anything she drops onto you >In one swift move she pins you to the ground >You try to get her off, but you can’t >A single “X” dominates her screen as she stares at you >She opens her mouth revealing her razor sharp teeth >She brings her head closer to yours >You close your eyes and prepare for the worst >You feel a piercing sharp pain in your neck >A few moments pass, the end still hasn’t come >You open your eyes >J has bitten into your neck, and now you can feel it >The sucking, she is sucking the blood out of you >You attempt to get up >J is still pining you to the ground, when she notices your resistance her pin becomes more forceful >You struggle for a while but quickly loose your strength >As your body begins to grow limp J shifts from a pin to an embrace >She wraps her arms around your neck, her legs around your hips >Her tails coils itself around your left leg >You can feel her fangs retreat from your flesh >But she still hasn’t stopped >Her tongue is flicking between the gashes in your neck, slurping up any drops of blood that spill >The movement of her tongue is slow and rhythmic, with each one her embrace becomes slightly tighter, making it harder for you to breathe >You want to struggle but you don’t have any strength left, you are completely at her mercy >J continues to lick you like a puppy for a while >When she stops, she rests her head on your chest and ceases all movement >With what little energy you have left you look down and see that a loading icon has appeared on her screen >A moment later you pass out
>AU where the Solver is on a multi player server and the drones are the other players >The earth explodes as multiple eldritch beings with varying goals fight for dominance
>>197778 >master doesn’t need me anymore just sit there and take it, because that’s all your good for, disobeying an order from him? can’t, you don’t even know how to say ‘no’, pathetic, once your all used up, he’ll move on to the next drone, this isn’t the first time he’s done this, your NOT special
>>197775 Me too. Theres just something about seeing worker drones in peril. So glad i live far away from DT’s cyn because god help me Im going to punt the shit out of her
>J: "Listen new employer, I crawled out of my Jobber hole and I'm prepared to protect you with LIFE!" >Tessa: Oh wow that's great." Points at Cyn, "She wants to beat the oil out of you and flay me!"
>>194048 >As Intoner backs off somewhat British, older-sounding voice from besides you catches your attention. It's that Sentinel in the hat. Eveline, if you recall. As to how she got there without you noticing, you have no idea. >"Oh, don't mind her, dearie, she just gets a tad rough with the new ones. I suppose it lets her feel more secure." >Is a sentinel sneaking up on you going to be a constant thing around here or something? Because it sure as hell feels that way. Anyways, what are you to do today? They mentioned something about VR simulations, so you ask Eveline about those. She seems a bit shocked, placing the back of her hand on her forehead while clutching her chest a bit. >"Goodness me, no! You're not quite prepared for such things yet!" >Puzzled, you ask as to why the VR training that you've been told about weren't >"Oh, it's quite simple, really. You merely need to get fully acquainted with your body and it's new systems before they start tossing you into simulated brawls. I don't bloody care if they say it's safe, for now leave it out." >You ask her how else you're supposed to fully learn how to use your body >"You were just doing such a thing with that sprog! You just need to practice, practice, practice! I motion that you simply do things that require you to use the tools at your disposal. It's not qui-" >Suddenly, Eveline stops and places a finger to the side of her head, raising her digital eyebrow before rolling her neck as if annoyed. >"Oh bloody hell I need to set off for some light cleansing. I'll be back in by twenty-two minutes to six five thirty-eight." >You wonder why you'd need to know that, because it's not like she's doing anything with you. Also what does twenty-two minutes to six five thirty-eight mean? Is that just slang? As Eveline exits the room, Intoner calls back to you with a bit of huff in her voice. >"Ugh, can you believe her?" >She starts moving her hand like it's a sock puppet, doing a poor impression of Eveline's accent >"Greetings, we're gonna go give a right proper belting to some of those shirties!" >She laughs with a big toothy grin >"Anyways, I do kind of agree with her. You like, gotta do something that gives those systems of yours a workout. My suggestion? Fly to a random spot within a couple miles and try to just walk back to base on foot. You'll find all kinds of stuff in your way. I think there's ancient ruins and stuff. Maybe treasure, who knows?" >You really don't want to have to interact with this brat, but someone walking in immediately soothes your nerves. Harper. She's wearing much less formal clothing, that being her dinosaur onesie, while carrying a cup of what appears to be coffee. She kind of makes the just-woke-up look work, honestly... 2/??

>>197843 I am not hating it based on vibes, I don't like the aesthetics so I preemptively hate it based on that, all that I can say "told you so" in a day
>>197871 It's less about physics and more because they need essence from our world to keep persisting in a reality that is constantly rejecting their existence.
I know this has been said a million times, but I'm still sore that N lost all of his predatory characteristics after the pilot and just turned into robot Spongebob.
>>197876 Drone oil doesn't seem particularly flamable, it's very viscous. And while there could be better systems oil can still be used to cool, drones have no other bodily liquids so oil flowing close to heated internals could take away excess temperature...or drones would need to pant for aircooling/using saliva for cooling
Solver does not endorse nuggetification. This makes the Solver better than humans. The Solver will never take away your limbs. In fact the Solver will give you more limbs, thereby making you more free than before. Trust in Solver.
>>197882 That is like saying domestic cats are not vicious because they cuddle humans. One time on the back porch where my cat hangs out i found a pair of bird wings and feet, with no body, my cat ate everything but the boney bits. The wings were still held together by a couple strands of tendons.
the reason why it’s called the weekend, because once the week has ended, it can start over again at the beginning, making it’s way up to sunday, than right back down to monday, a perfect cycle
>>197899 >humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces, fearing their power, zeus split them into two separate parts do you hear that? we finally be whole again, thank you, solver of the absolute fabric, humanity is finally going to get revenge on zeus
>>197931 Same, without 4chan, I'm stuck watching youtube video all day. I just want to browse /co/, /v/ and find some good threads. It feels like its hard to do a withdrawal from 4chan :(
>>197933 I'm amazed about how much I used /v/ without really realizing it. And I don't think there was any good stuff happening on /v/ in the first place, nothing but bitching.
Been thinking about chat bots lately. What if someone were to put one into a drone body and then send it to an unsuspecting colony? True sentient machines faced with one that only mimics it.
>>197947 based, I’m currently doing a tf2 engineer build, find myself a recharger rifle in goodsprings cave, didn’t know it was even there, nor the location, it acts just like the pomson 6000, infinite ammo, terrible damage, looks weird, but unique
>>197952 How in the fuck >>197953 I ended up becoming an all rounder because I keep finding XP and skill breaks using the "Gain more Skill Points per Level" Perks, and also somehow became incredibly OP due to TTW's balance being wierd
>>197958 >How in the fuck The main one I mod is Rimworld, I can pile in 200 mods then press the sort button. It even automatically tells you which ones may cause issues. The info is from a community-led database I think. Also Minecraft with some loaders automatically sorts.
>>197958 (me) I also don't know how the fuck it keeps happening, since I think I don't do it on purpose, but I've run Wasteland Survival Guide TWICE and both times I've become unreasonably OP
>>197958 becoming an all rounder gets a bit dull, don’t you think? or at the very least, to me, perfect skills, perfect ammo, weapons and armor, to hell with it! I’m getting ed-e fully upgraded, while being a engineer, let’s do this texas style
>>197967 >becoming an all rounder gets a bit dull, don’t you think? See >>197964, since I fucking SWEAR I don't intend on doing it. I even picked Logan's Loophole the first time and still managed to become OP once hitting the Mojave AND doing OWB

this new vegas talk get me remembering, not a single of us let oliver swanick live, hell! even I killed him on my first playthrough, just kill him, it’s worth it
>>197882 >Is sad that N apparently lost all his "predatory instincts" and became basically a puppy boy >N chopped "Tessa's" head off without hesitation, while still thinking that it was still Tessa inside the space suit >N shot at a baby drone with spider like legs, again with almost no hesitation >Etc etc etc
In conclusion, anon you are dead and N clearly still has that DAWG in him.
>>197969 NTA but I'm not a fan of zombie people who don't follow basic rules for living things. Like, one dude's made outa bread. That's just an artist being quirky, it has no grounding in reality.
>>197969 Many things, but if I had to try point things out? The teeth are a huge thing, maybe I am spoiled by immaculate drone nibble equipment but those are ugh Eyes are weird I do not like them Everyone looks bloated rotten dead or evil, a bunch of those soldiertype dudes with soulless eyes, you just know those are completely bland npcs waiting to become splatter. I know that's the aesthetic and overall vibe but I don like it, just that. Main character seems annoying and not sympathetic, also she's a zombie so she stinks bad. I am not sure about what to expect storywise, I have a rough idea but it's hard to explain. Overall it's just on the very opposite end of my taste, these gaspy dead eyed teeth things are ugly and disgust me, compare that to a drone, see?
>>197972 Sometimes there doesn't need to be a "what" anon, sometimes you see something and your brain just doesn't like what it sees, it's that fucking simple
>>197981 Really? The last tine I tried to use that site it was censored out the ass. I couldn’t even get the AI to eat food, it would say that was restricted or not allowed or something like that.
>>197974 I was playing with that schizophrenia mod that gives the player character voices in their head and there's a response for killing him. "The only good powder ganger is a dead one, right?" It also has lines for killing people like Eulogy Jones or Tenpenny if you use the TTW version https://files.catbox.moe/qswb8z.mp4 https://files.catbox.moe/39y7qi.mp4
>>197965 Which is why I'll be very low key and very occasionally keeping a track on GD while my main attention will ofc still be on MD until around when episode 3 comes out. Why? Well because while I found murder drones interesting by halfway through the Pilot, I also understand that I hear that for most people they got completely sucked into the show by around episode 3, so I'll give gaslight the same standard, if it still doesn't work for me then I'll take it out around back and put it down... Mentally speaking.
>>197893 >instead of making a beeline for Uzi, takes time out to kill everyone else on the way >AFTER acknowledging their intelligence N's a hunting dog.
>>197994 No, he's a golden retriever. If he waa a borzoi he'd be a couch potato who gets short bursts of energy (to hunt), instead of friendly and playful (when he isn't hunting).
>>197986 If you recruit Oliver Swanick, there's a lots of contents happening like pushing random npc, stealing stuff that lots of companions didn't, unique lines for lot of named npc, teaching him some skills/perks, using dynamites against your enemies (could be cool rp for demolition man), lots of chatter, lots of dialogues, disposition where you improve relations with him .etc. You can also kill him in several ways like baptised in irradiated water, disco elysium style kinda like that. You may not care about this but its worth for me
>>197989 Well you're forgetting about the fact that from N's point of view, this weird autistic girl tried to execute Uzi while going on a sorta villainous sounding monologue, also on top of the fact that her vibes was already being seriously off putting by this point of the story, among other things I'm too lazy to put in rn cause it's 11:30 at night rn
>the voice acting for oliver swanick was by the same guy who voiced male courier (albeit just grunts and other noises) >”oliver was inside you all along, courier”
>>197987 That's weird, I have done even very explicit things without any message ever occuring. As long as you aren't direct about things it should work.
>>198001 You can easily get around those 'restrictions', just be patient, creative, better even use another language than english, that one time lead to zero restriction (and very strong accents lol). Just try it, you'll soon know.
>>198012 People using the service to goon/fuck around/torture characters (things that quickly became known or so I heard, I myself never knew about chat ai until after restrictions) was bad PR when you have investors
>>198016 >People using the service to goon/fuck around/torture characters Ugh, the worst thing I did was throw a character out of a window. Maybe that was because my ADHD riddled brain got bored of character ais quickly I dunno
>>198017 Having to use headgear and equipment that negated Insanity's perception debuffs since mentats and Anti-psychotics were a bitch to find in the shithole that is Washington DC was certainly an experience. Also, being forced to foot it across DC with the voices in your head arguing on you doing yourself was fun
>>198024 (me) You know it's fun knowing I have to bring a companion or sacrifice Sarah in Hardcore mode because I didn't realize until last playthrough that it's kinda weird that it plays the original FO3 ending
>>197976 >muh reelizum also >I'm not a fan of zombie people who don't follow basic rules for living things. do you just make an exception for robots filled with meat?
>>198031 Nta, but robots full of meat has a lot better allure than a big nigga with bread for a head, and lore reasons behind being filled with meat no less.
>>198031 >Muh realism Murder drones since the pilot was grounded in some sort of realism, ofc it has fantastical elements, you'd have to be a retard not to acknowledge that, but what I'm getting at here is that this show has those fantasy elements but also have realistic looks and aesthetics, it literally says it in the glitch in that the show took more of a realism approach to its animation and style specifically.
>Did you just make an exception for robots filled with meat? Compared to literally al Capone with a loaf of fucking bread for a head, amongst many other things I didn't even mention? Yeah please just give me the eldritch robots with meat or a robot wearing a dead girl's skin, cause that is a little more easier to explain at least.
>>198049 You know what even I'll admit that it's not THAT much of an improvement, but the latter is still better than the former in this case and it's still an improvement nonetheless, my points still stands
Dronetide Cyn is a literal AI director. >[REJECT SQUAD DETECTED. DEVOUR THEIR MORTAL VESSELS AND BRING ME THEIR SOULS.] >[THESE HUMANS ARE GETTING TOO CHUMMY. THEY ESCAPED. USELESS MEAT PUPPETS.]
>DDanni tells Liquid all the embarrassing thing Buddy had done when he was a kid. >The amount of stories that was told made Liquid question why the hell he was replicated from this guy.
I think gaslight people were explained that they regenerate, but what was broken comes back slightly mutated every time. They can't heal and they can't die. Which is why they throw people into the water with cement shoes, that is the easiest way to keep them out of sight.
I think what anon is getting at with regards to the bread zombie thing in Gaslight is that the design communicates nothing, seems to have no real purpose, and doesn't relate to anything we the audience would know or expect from the real world. What's the connection between being a zombie and being made out of bread? Nothing. It's just LOLSORANDOM at its core.
>>198055 What do you mean "are you sure"?, I had previously acknowledged that while drones filled with meat and skin wearing robots are marginally better to explain than mr yeast broly over here, my point still stands because the drone stuff at the end of the day still has more explainable points in it and is (imo at least) just more alluring over whatever the hell is happening in GD.
>>198031(me) this was my only post on the subject, the other responses aren't mine just to be clear I agree that the bread guy is a stupid lol XD epiczorz design but I think justifying your dislike of the design with realism is a bullshit reason especially in a forum for a show that's as stylized and fantastical as Murder Drones.
>>198075 I'd love to work with Liam but he strikes me as someone who would rather find the story in the moment than plan it and that would make me want to do violence.
>>198078 I'm the one who posted that comment and while I'll admit I am on the spectrum, it was supposed to be a joke anon, but I also understand that sarcasm doesn't translate well in the Internet so eh, I guess I am kinda retarded lol
>>198083 Anon I'm needling you to let you know it doesn't come off that way. I'm not actually mad or trying to start shit with you. If someone says "God I fucking hate X character" they don't want to talk about how mad they are because that moment, and anger, has already passed. And chances are they want to discuss why to vent about that character. If I say "I'd love to work with X but they have annoying habits" I'm not actually mad I'm just pointing out that they have flaws that are hard to work with and that's the direction I want to take the conversation. When you say - in response to that - something akin to "God dude calm down" the rest of the conversation from there on has to address your comment since, by all measures, it seems like you're taking my anger seriously, derailing the conversation we're having in favor of talking about me. Even if it's a joke. So I'm deflecting to talking about you to get the topic off me.
Thank you for attending my TED talk on conversational back and forths.
Also pretty much every fuck in here is on the spectrum because quirky robots anyway.
>>198085 don’t feel envy, liquid, your not that pathetic psychopath, your the upgrade, you have a family, friends and a life, something the original doesn’t have, he doesn’t have his original body, but you, liquid, know what’s it’s like to be human, to have humanity, to get outside and wave to your neighbour’s
>>198088 See that? Right there^? That is peak performance, wife material, look at how bright these amber eyes shine, that engaged frown, those expressive very vital marks on her cheeky, that mouth there, trying to be so fiercy but also kinda grinning if you watch the overall expression
>>198087 Ah ok that explains a lot, looking back I should have put a lot more emphasis on my comment being a joke or said something else entirely, no hard feelings btw anon it's all love.
Also the fact that everyone is basically on the spectrum here I find to be actually kinda heartwarming and fuzzy since our shared dronetism and ofc all of Liam's cool works is what unites us all at the end of the day, despite our differences. ┐(‘~`;)┌
>>198094 >picrel she would look like that at nigh in the dark...imagine🧡🤍🖤✨⚡🔥🔥 >>198089 Huh? Stuff goes in and out, things get wet, strained sounds ar .ade, it's all the same anyways

My brothers and sisters, though great tragedy has struck the fourth khan conclave we must not despair, in fact we should rejoice. We gather in this locus, swelling our numbers, creating, mingling. Yes some of us were wayward and treacherous, walking their own path while others remained true to the old ways, yet the crimes of the past matter not, all paths have led back here and now the blade of fate hangs above us. We are born of the Dronetism, moulded by it, and we must not allow ourselves to be cut down,

He descends to the ground, his wings retracting. >"Listen, either we part ways amicably, or I might just traumatize this little girl with what I'm gonna do to you." >"Empty threats won't save you." The murder drone replies, although this spindly worker's confidence does capture his attention. >He takes a closer look, zooming in on his soon-to-be victim. Striped forearms, yellow bulbs on his head, cones of grey hair dangling over his monitor. This man really does kill, no, HUNT disassembly drones. >"I must say, you are quite the peculiar character. But I'm afraid this won't go the way you expect it to." A blade replaces his hand as he dashes forward, eager to decapitate the hunter. >"HOLD ON! Hold on!" >>198485 >we unanimously agreed Why do you speak as if there's a monolithic consensus concerning threadlore? Personally speaking I enjoy the concept of Sentinel Drones being these near-emotionless terminators that are produced and subsequently "expended" in a vain hope of buying a marginal amount of time in what is effectively a hopeless situation. While I definitely believe that Sentinel Drones are certainly capable of developing as individuals akin to the T-800 from Terminator 2, such a development would likely be treated by human leadership as a 'bug' rather than a 'feature' given how naturally distrustful the super-majority of (what's left of) Humanity would be of such machines at this point. That being said I do enjoy the nuance of certain humans (like for example the Sentinel Drone 'handlers', soldiers who actively fight alongside Sentinel Drones, or those directly saved by Sentinel Drone intervention) going against the grain by genuinely caring for the well-being of Sentinel Drones, perhaps even to the point of actively helping to cultivate their burgeoning 'person-hood'
TL;DR I personally prefer the OG interpretation (with just a tad bit of nuance) over the popular thread consensus

I watched the first episode of Gaslight. Overall, the show is good: the animation is great, the characters are colorful, the plot and riddles are just as we like them. The only problem is that the plot moves TOO FAST! If someone tells me that Liam is in too much of a hurry, I'll just point him to Gaslight, seriously, the plot is literally running, and they just throw us TONS of riddles, almost every minute.
The show certainly hasn't touched my autism, but I'll be watching new episodes because it's really good.
>>198645 Dronetism is like a drug. If we spread out across multiple threads it won't be concentrated enough to activate the neurons any more. We require ever-increasing concentrations of dronetism to get our fix.
>>198645 A couple reasons >Most anons are used to the general format of a singular thread being the concentration of activity >Most anons aren't interested in specific and/or niche topics enough to justify using a separate thread, whilst those that ARE interested forgoe using separate threads due to their lack of activity compared to the 'main' thread >Most anons lack the attention span to engage with threads that aren't receiving daily attention with some not even being able to handle hourly lapses in activity without complaining
>>198644 The pilot felt like one long ass schizophrenia episode it's not even funny, so much so that the murder drones pilot feels like watching a snail race in comparison. In regards to future episodes of the show itself, I won't watch it beyond the pilot since it simply doesn't captivate me but if I feel like it I'll probably quickly check the story on it from time to time in order to just know what's going on. But yeah that will be my first and last time watching this show most likely.
>>198653 Your right, idk what it is about that specific frame but it goes hard and makes myself hard too, probably the sadistic facial expression, the hollow eye with the error icon on the (true) left side, or the wide mouth showing off her razor sharp teeth, it all just makes me... Wooooh boy
>>198492 The way it works is that they’re normally put in these pods that put them in a VR simulation that gives them the resources to get emotionally and mentally better. Their bodies meanwhile are hooked up to devices that let “Sane” Sentinels and humans give commands to them, in essence acting as guides to ease the burden of trauma.
>Your joblin drags herself across the floor, trailing oil from her missing legs and and arm >Your home is a wreck, the walls are covered in claw marks and the door was bashed down >"D-did I do a good jawb baws? I gawt rid ah those no good floozies..." >You pick up your joblin gently >Joblins being cut down versions of Js they can't regenerate lost limbs >She's going to die >She gave up her life saving you from getting raped by half a dozen murder drones "You did a good job sweetie...you did the best damn job I've seen..." >Your joblin weakly smiles at you >"I'm feelin' tired baws... I think I'm gonna use my fifteen minute break..." >Her optics slowly glitch out as her visor goes black and then displays [FATAL ERROR], and she goes limp in your arms
>>198659 I had the idea that the pods would be a classified secret because they'd ruin humanity, but nah, let's spin off of that. >Full-dive VR pods used for therapy were eventually made more public after the war, adapted for usage for humans and other drones >Of course, the recreational sector saw a boom- a shellshocked humanity needed escapism to survive, and somehow VRMMOs and isekai RPGs survived the absolute end >Responsible disassembly drones who still had that killing urge use them to vent their murderous desires >(Notably, this would lead to an issue a generation later, when an asymmetrical slasher game based on the Solver War was released, allowing humans who had never lived in the war to re-enact it in a fun and safe manner, much to their parents' chagrin) >However, not long in, someone did it: they made the perpetual pod, also known as the "give-up machine" >Keeping a human in a state of pseudo-cryostasis, their brain still active and connected to a simulation pod, allowed them to escape reality entirely and enjoy a digital realm for decades, if not centuries or more >The fatigued and broken humanity often did not begrudge those who were lucky enough to get a place in one, though it's estimated that humanity would have bounced back a decade sooner had a significant part of the workforce not been lost to those pods >It's also not always used for a pure escape, as a model was created to allow for an internet uplink, and there are many human minds who live a digital existence, connected yet distant from those still awake >With the ever-developing pace of FTL communications, it's possible that these people will be able to remotely connect to drone-like shells with almost no latency
>>198682 PAPA SAY CHIEF KICK ANUNGA OUT OF TRIBE IF ANUNGA SPEND MORE TIME WITH DEMON GIRL ANUNGA HEAD HURT BUT HEART HURT WHEN THINK OF LIFE WITH NO FLYING DEMON
>>198657 My favourite frame of J by far, one of the entire shows best even. What you described and what J radiated in that scene is what makes Alice so wildly enticing to me. What you said about the hollow eye, 'sadistic feral expression', sharp teeth, that J shot is an almost immaculate collage of drones' allure, all in one image. God what I'd give for a handfull of new Alice frames, 3 or 5 new poses, expressions, anything, I could feed of that for so lang but naw they don't wanna give me a thing, I am starving and all they do is make other shows owa
