>>90089 There's smilarities (especially in how this is one of the few series where people actually have different noses) but overall the art here is less similar to DBZ than most shonen. I gave this series up a while ago, but reading up on it again the storytelling's really improved lately. The character introductions have been so dumb, but seeing Diane actually get over Meliodas (something usually impossible for an anime girl) and the interactions between characters like Ban and Hawk, or Gowther and everybody, or the complicated tertiary cast, really make up for Mel and Elizabeth being so bland. There seems to be a ton of Celtic-based worldbuilding which doesn't happen nearly enough, and it's moving past "everybody gets a random superpower" which is great.
The anime really trimmed the boring fat off Gowther's intro too, until I saw the episode I didn't realize what a drag point it was for the series, the anime instead gave the time to Zeal and Guila to establish him and her motivation rather than dropping it in the minute it become relevant in the Kingdom rescue arc.
Goddamn this anime is anti-filler, this anime is the original cut of the star wars films editing, taking sloppy and generic stuff and really tightening it up.
>>90848 Talking about numbered power levels in the middle of a fight is so awkward... Not knocking this manga particularly since I just happened to browse at the page in passing, fights in shonen are generally awkwardly wordy.
>>90882 Those clothes imply he gets big and buff, but Seven Deadly Sins ascribes to the same rule as most anime where big and buff just means jobber. I wonder what his actual power is supposed to be.
