Amagi Briliiant Park - Not expecting a whole lot, though I actually kinda like the MC. Mostly watching for the animation quality, as always with KyoAni. Hitsugi no Chaika: Avenging Battle - It's Chaika. Shocking truth! Inou Battle yadda yadda - Trigger's new thing. Seems fun so far, but it's missing a real hook. Mushishi - I walked ten thousand miles, ten thousand miles to see this. Nanatsu no Taizai - I actually told myself to stop watching anime adaptions of manga I already read because it's a bit of a waste of time, but I've been hearing so many good things and people weren't lying. Pretty good adaption. I'm still probably going to lose interest along the way and just stick to the manga. Psycho Pass 2 - Wondering where it could even go from this point on. Season 1 was already pretty crazy.
Overall watching a whole lot more than previous seasons. It's a good'n. Also as I typed this I noticed RONJA BY FUCKING GHIBLI on the chart!!! HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS!?!? HNNNNNNGGHHHH MY CHILDHOOD!!!
Akame ga Kill - generic shounen continues being generic shounen
Amagami Brilliant Park - I like the MC. If the show concentrates more on the "economics and management of a theme park" and "office politics" possibilities rather than harem or romance, then it might actually be really good.
Cross Ange - Only seen one episode so far, but... yea... Sunrise mecha with racism/xenophobia and rapey subtext.
Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken - Otaku husband and normal wife, series of super short comedy shorts. It's ok. Kind of feels like a ripoff of Spotted Flower, the Genshiken alternate universe story.
Gundam Build Fighters Try - More Gundam Build Fighters goodness. That episode 1 reveal, FUCK YEEEEEAAAAA
Gundam: G no Reconguista - ohhi Tomino. Looks like King Gainer, feels like Gundam, it's Tomino's spastic and weird pacing and plodding dialogue and weird comedy and wild tonal shifts maxed to 11/10. I guess I like it so far, although I can't say why.
Hitsugi no Chaika: Avenging Battle - It's Chaika. Shocking truth!
Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu - I actually had low expectations of Parasyte. Even if everything else was great, I expected overbearing censorship to ruin it like Pupa, Tokyo Ghoul or Terraformars. But what little censorship there was was very understated and acceptable.
Nanatsu no Taizai/Shingeki no Bahamut - For generic shounen these two are surprisingly entertaining so far.
>89952 I don't think there's anything "sub"textual about Cross Ange really. It's pretty much all there up front.
I wish Sunrise would just make a good reboot of Geass and then just fucking disappear at this point, I'm pretty done with their shit.
Unlimited Blade Works: Dat Taiga
Chaika S2: Not there yet but I've been convinced to watch S1 and am enjoying it so far. I'm not sure that I've ever actually seen a fantasy series that uses Post-Napoleonic Europe as the setting.
Log Horizon S2: It's more Log Horizon and that is a good thing. Also they've confirmed the inclusion of the Western side stories which feature a fake Ninja Turtle and a Chinese gold farming bot that gained sentience and I am SO ON BOARD WITH EVERY PART OF THAT.
Seha Girls: I'm not sure why I'm doing this to myself. It's... oddly fascinating to watch though. I've never owned a Sega console but I'm pretty familiar with the assorted insanity they got up over the years and there's something transfixing about watching a bunch of animes go to school to argue over which Gold Axe character they're lusting over and then have lessons which consist of straight up Virtual Fighter footage.
Parasyte: I should probably watch Parasyte.
SM Crystal is still on too but I think the novelty has worn off for me.
>>89951 Dude, the animation is GOD TIER and the story is fun shenanigans with world building mysteries in the backdrop, what more could anyone ask for?
First episode of Psycho-Pass S2 was kind of weak. Dunno if I'll watch it this time around.
May check out the Ghibli thing or Amagi Park when I have the time. Terra Formars might be accidentally hilarious if what I've seen of the manga is anything to go by.
Should probably get around to watching the first season of Mushishi.
>>89977 Am I the only one who doesn't really dig the art style of the anime? Not that the art was particularly good in the original manga, but it had a sort of 90's Hojo-esque charm to it.
Watch Shirobako. It's a humorous but also very sincere anime about animators making anime. Some of the characters are straight up self-inserts. The director character is basically Girl und Panzer's director Mizushima Tsutomu who is also directing Shirobako... the director character even "apologizes" for the two Girl und Panzer recap episodes.
>>90291 Wow. I make more money than anyone under the Series Director. And Series Director wouldn't be THAT much of a step up in pay. I know the economy's different in Japan since no one's saving up for real estate, but still, it's surprising how little they make.
>>90292 >Does that take into account the korean animators too? You mean when they outsource work to korean studios? Thats a series-by-series basis. But if its a studio job in japan, its in-house.
That said, no, korean animators don't make much either.
