New movie dropped last month and STILL no torrents. Not even raws. Does anyone even care about experimental animation anymore?

Experimental animation doesn't get much love nowadays sadly. The culture around it is niche. I would love to have this movie and similar ones torrented more instead of the usual bland otaku FOTM shows Japan television has nowadays.

The last movie Karakasa was yuribait with the medicine seller taking a step back from the front of the stage. Here's hoping Hinezumi shoves him back into the limelight, it seems we are both waiting for the bluray, that'll be a few months.

Yea, not sure how I feel about 2/3 of the screentime going to yuribait. I'm still willing to sit through it because the art style is so damn good.

The first movie was a disappointment due to bad pacing and not particularly interesting story

The graphical style was overwhelming, they might have took it too far in a few places.
I managed to relate to the story in a personal way since i too have thrown precious items down a well so those feels weren't lost on me. Maboi does show up in style at one point, i gave the film a passing grade.

Chan discussion about this anime has grown difficult to find. Once all 3 films are available then mark my words Anonymous will remember Mononoke.

- For me it's Umi-Bozu of course.

It’s 19 years old series, it’s only expected. My favourite was probably Noppera-bō.

No wonder /a/ lost interest in it.

I think Noppera-bō is the only truly esoteric short story requiring external knowledge of Nô to understand what's going on. Because it stands out and people don't get it then it might unfortunately feature at the bottom of a few lists.

Cursed, tokihanats- my shit up.

It was barely more than the original series. The episodes with the sea monster were easily just as wacky with their visual effects.

Bakeneko. The first one, from Ayakashi.
