>>420207 Plus4chan is a very sparsely populated imageboard, has been for years. Presumably not all of the gundam posters from 4chan classic migrated over with you guys at the same time.
I watched 0079 and Zeta only a couple of weeks ago so it's funny to hear all the same sound effects in GQuuuuuuX but also, Char having a different VA shocked me for a second
>>420304 If that's the case i wish i knew where to find it because i know some /a/fags and /m/fags would be happy that this ep is more "old school" and "real" Gundam
>>420312 >I guess they didn't want to use 2 episodes on the flashback. Why not? Bandai clearly don't want to do this show at all, so why wouldn't they ensure it to be padded to hell with recycled footage?
>>420320 This isn't even the first iteration of plus4chan, it was because of the turmoil we lost alot of our original population. Just drifted away in the time period.
>>420356 I don't know, isn't this show an attempt at both giving more fanservice to older fans while also trying to get a new audience? I guess they're trying to balance things out, if they are going to be sucessful we'll see
it sucks that this thread will probably never be as fast as the thread on 4chan. on the bright side there's no more 15 mins captchas, so there's that i guess
>>420361 lucky you. as a filthy phoneposter it happens to me basically every time, especially while commuting. i think my IP got reset everytime the stupid phone pings a new tower or something
>>420304 >>420307 This is like the most active /a/ related altchan board I've found in hours so if you're looking for speedy traffic, this is it I guess
>>420363 My modem just randomly changes IPs all the time and I can't figure out why. I've had to send dozens of moderator appeals saying stuff like "No, I'm NOT the guy who spams rainbow flag Shadow The Hedgehog porn on /sthg/, my modem is stupid." every time it happens. Thankfully they usually get approved, though sometimes I don't get an appeal option.
The episode was pretty cool I guess. Alt-history Gundam is pretty rad and the episode was full of fanservce. I guess I just kind of didn't expect a full entire episode that's nothing but backstory? >continues with episode 1 lol.
I mean. As I said, I think the episode was cool. I do enjoy the backstory and alt-history Gundam stuff. But I feel like I'm almost getting a bit of a whiplash hopping back and forth between the time periods. Especially since I'm assuming that the vast majority of the show won't be as deeply connected with this past story. Only indirectly. And well, with all the obvious consequences and remains from the backstory.
But I mean. Isn't this kind of like watching the original Star Wars trilogy. But in-between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back you just throw in Rogue One there? Kind of. I am ultimately more invested in trying to learn of and familiarize myself with the new world and setting that these past events supposedly brought forth. Than to dig into the details of where the past differed even though that's also interesting.
It's funny though. I feel like there'll be some whiplash yet again to go from this episode back to the future and with clan battles being introduced and everything. But I'm here for it.
I'm wondering if I should do something really autistic.
I really, really want to read Gundam Unicorn so I don't feel left out of people's conversations about that book (since clearly watching the anime isn't the actual intended experience), so I'm thinking about the feusibility of screenshotting the translations on Baka-Tsuki and posting it as I read them like a storytime thread.
It's nice how the music sounded retro, I'm not enough of a gundam nerd to tell if the tracks were just taken from the first show or if they're now ones made in that style.
>>420438 The joke is supposed to be that Anno (or whoever wrote the MSG parts) has read the interviews Tomino gave about hating the toyetic color scheme of the Gundam and White Base and/or the novel that says they're both gray.
Really I'm just shocked that they didn't rename the White Base "Pegasus" to jerk off even harder.
>>420445 Do you know what websites people used when Gundam Seed Destiny was airing? I want to read through the archives of when Kira first got his "Jesus" moniker and when people formulated those fake interviews about Cagalli schtupping the director.
I like how they kept the old UC character designs, but I have a feeling they're gonna clash if those characters are going to appear later in the series.
>>420462 I will anon, promise that said: >mass produced Big Zam taking Luna II >Solomon drop >DIVERTED Solomon drop by Char via Newtype wankery If we will ever return home Copy X will have a field day with this
Ok. I've spent over an hour looking through my folders and the thread archives. There was a an edit with Char and Challia of the ED. I was certain that I had saved it but somehow I can't find it. I was sure I saw it in multiple threads too so I am surprised that I can't find it, be it in the archives or in my folders.
>>420543 >a covering of nazi germany (what with Degwin calling his son the next Hitler) I feel that comment was mostly for the sake of saying "Gihren is the bad guy" than to associate all of Zeon with the Nazis. Not that Zeeks aren't using a mix of Axis Powers shorthand, but they're still predominantly the IJA/IJN.
>>420530 >>420535 No wonder I didn't find it. Be it on the archive or in my folders. I actually had downloaded it as I had initially thought. And it was in my GQ folder next to all my unsorted files.
Thing is. It's not a webm. It's not a gif. It's an mp4. And I still haven't gotten used to the fact that 4chan decided to whitelist mp4s recently. I always forget it.
If we only see what we see because Challia is reminiscing about the OYW, does that mean that the missing part from the movie will be told by Char at some point in the show?
>>420433 this is gonna sound very petty; I've very disappointed they didn't have that kind of slide landing. For whatever reason, I thought this was a pretty cool landing pose
>>420183 age has nothing to do with it. it's just human nature to be tribalistic and you're underestimating the length people are willing to go to see their side "win" example: /pol/ and any of the culture war threads on /v/ etc
>>420753 >GWSFan1989, paperback were the /m/ janitors which one is Duel? Shit aside, I hope that they either get sacked or changed. /m/ was still usable but G-witch together with ACVI really brought an influx of obnoxious people that wanted to discuss anything but mecha on the mecha board. I dunno if I can ask this here, but would you post on 8chan.moe if a /m/ board is set up there? I don't like the site but at least there we could have our own board...
>>420889 Not sure. 8chan's interface grates me. The flying shit on this site is even worse though. Seems like this site is the creator's vanity project and they actually do not want any traffic.
>>420900 if I have to guess this site was not that much used before yesterday. This Red Alert joke is probably running since a bit. >>420911 >>420915 eh dunno, my plan was to make it because it is a much popular imageboard, higher chance that other re/m/nants will find us. Hopefully some generals could go on but at the same time they would be possibly slow or not worth going if there is just three of us compared to before. I guess I am just a bit scared that we lost /m/ forever :( if anything it would be reassuring that the effort posters are with us (those curating the better generals) but I guess they will come back if 4chan reopens in a not too distant future
>>420911 >>420915 >>420919 Okay good news everyone, I asked for permission to manage the board and got access to it, if you guys want we can shape it however the fuck we want (banners, colors, ids, etc.) so I'll make a sticky for suggestions over there. Also it's not hidden anymore, turns out that's a feature you can toggle in the settings for the board.
>>420959 eh, worth a shot. 8chan is still in the internet culture the other imageboard after 4chan, I guess some will check there for sure. For sure the less we split the higher chances that /m/ doesn't fizzle out.
>>420962 >8chan is still in the internet culture the other imageboard after 4chan this current 8chan is not the original 8chan. in a way it was also an alt for the OG 8ch's refugees when the site died
