Neat, I wasn't expecting to see a Limbus thread here. Started playing about two weeks ago and finished the new manager gift streak. Just finished Hell's Chicken Intervallo and hit the free battle pass maximum (it says 120 but seems like you can still get one egoshard box in the EX) since I play the mirror dungeon often.
I think the mirror dungeon portion of the game is fun since I get to play around with the E.G.O. gift combinations as a newcomer. Running into enemies from later chapters is kinda funny though, especially the well-known Mr. Bones Claimer. The main story mode is really great though.
Currently making my way slowly through Canto 5 (Ishmael's). This is what I've been making do with thus far. I only have a few non-base E.G.O.s
>Yi Sang: Wishing Cairn UT2, Great Trichiliocosm UT2
>Faust: Fluid Sac UT3 (Naturally! Though I find in up to where I am now, healing is manageable if you have an eye on resistances)
>Don Quixote: Red Sheet UT2
>Heathcliff: Ya Sunyata Tad Rupam UT2
>Sinclair: Tears of the Tarnished Blood UT1
>Outis: I'll Go fer Scissors. How 'Bout You? UT3
I enjoy the character writing, the setting and voice acting. For the better part of Canto 3, I've had some disdain for Don Quixote for her recklessness. But after a while, I slowly accepted that it's part of the character's charm (plus Vergilius DID intervene...). What she did at the casino (granted Dante was a weak-willed amnesiac being pulled around by others) and K Corp really pissed me off, especially at K Corp since passing that place should've been a breeze. Once Vergilius made things clear, she kinda stopped being a nuisance/jeopardy and yeah, she's a funny, boisterous gremlin.
>BEEEACH VOLLEY-BRRR
I also appreciate Yi Sang's canto and development after. He's had some funny moments in Hell's Kitchen but his character really blossomed in Canto 4. So far, each of the Sinners have something going on for them that made me interested in how their stories will go.
Got to the next filter... From what I've gathered, I need to bring as many Blunt attack IDs who are also have high Blunt resistance. I get that the first two waves are just for you to raise sanity but the Middle thugs have annoying passives... Will see if this is passable (No I'm not bringing Ring Sang, just the blunt IDs).
Several things that helped make this fight manageable for me, given what I have:
>double slot maid Ish, evade and sinking
>Wei Don, sinking
>being able to fuel both Crow's Eye View on Liu Yi Sang (Haste) as well as Bodysack
Hindley CAN reset his negative SP though... Some moments scared me a bit, especially since I forgot to unequip Ya Sunyata on Heathcliff but managed to work it out. There was a turn where Tingtang Hong Lu whiffed his evade and got so close to stagger I thought I was going to distort. Couldn't do it in 10 turns but I'll just come back later. (Finding Bamboo-hatted Kim in the mirror dungeon way early on when I started playing really taught me to read and Ricardo pummeled the lesson further... As a side effect, I'm averse to sinking because Kim traumatized me) It really is important to offset guard and evade too. This fucker gets 4 Protection if his guard triggers and he has remaining shield HP. That played a factor in ruining several attempts before today.
Love that Wei Don, kind of a random pull from December but she's helped a ton. I've heard the Heishous are generally pretty good but you kinda need all members for the team like Blade Lineage? Which sucks since Wei Don's the only one I have. Been looking into getting either Mao Outis or Ryoshu since I'm lacking fun IDs on them (the others can't be dispensed til next season). I mean Gregor too, I haven't had the luck for even Rosespanner...
Late mirror dungeon run and trying to get a feel for how to play Nclair. I can understand why he's popular as well as some people's warning that you need to manage him a bit more than just abusing the winrate button. He's a bit harder to recommend when you're just starting out since his sanity mechanic does rely on getting kills, having a field team + bench team setup that can mitigate too much SP loss. His guard does recover some sanity. Having NFaust and a couple of IDs that has Lust skills to trigger Whistles and keeping Liu Yi Sang on the bench + enough Wrath skills for his passive felt like a good gameplan for now. I do like Liu Yi Sang too. That idle stance is just too funny.
I'm not progressing after Distorted Hindley's fight, need to toil in the EXP ticket mines for a while before the next story node (lvl 44 min)... Kinda wonder what I need to prepare for in Canto 7, in terms of damage types and stuff. Can't play Railway since I haven't cleared Don's canto and I'm kinda looking forward to it.
Spoiler for final boss of Canto 7.
Getting to this point was rough. There are definitely team comps that can make it less miserable but by nature of the gacha, you might not always have the IDs that can make the fight a bit more forgiving (can only bring 1 support ID from your friends list, I had to bring a G Corp Gregor since I've never had the luck to get him).
With this team, I got through Rose Hunter somewhat okay-ish. I had an attempt with fighting the boss after the trio that went somewhat smoothly a couple of days ago but today's attempt went a little rough.
-Fanghunt Hong Lu's passive, deletes 2 bleed Count on 1 sinner with highest Bleed Potency/Count sum
-G Corp Gregor's passive
-Meursault's Chains of Others (APPLY TURN 1, his debuffs are so, SO helpful, be mindful of when it wears off)
-Faust's Fluid Sac for HP/SP heal, it is a dungeon-style map so you can build up EGO resources. Given my paltry luck, I really had to pick party members around EGO skills.
-Yi Sang's Crow's Eye View can help control the fight by keeping your team's speed above the boss so you get to pick what clashes to take/redirect some clashes (AOE will still hit regardless and Papa Don has SO MUCH of it)
-Evade is helpful as well
-Since the boss has sanity, Sinking IDs might also be useful but I've been playing with NFaust for the longest time, it's hard to discard Whistles.
The ending though... I gotta say the lance-wielding dipshit annoyed me a couple of times throughout the story but the ending to her canto was just... too good. ; - ; Props to the voice actor too.
>Whether alone or with her Nursefather, the girl's attitude and conduct hardly change - she usually has her nose buried in illustrated books or watches motion pictures that emit noises that offend the eardrums.
>The only difference is that when in each other's company, they exchange idle chatter as they read and watch those books and videos together...
>Ah, come to think of it, she likes to pester the other children to read what she enjoys, begging them to give it a chance. Yet the contents of her favorite distractions are hardly worthy of consideration...
>... and when I voiced this outright, she swore she'd "feed ya till ya get what a masterpiece it is," and has since been relentless chasing after me, causing me quite an inconvenience.
>I must avert my gaze from her today, lest our eyes meet and she interprets it as an interest in her pastime.
The uptie stories are entertaining on their own, imo. Xichunmael's pretty funny too.
