>>200626 And for those who complained about the penalties and most of the casual mode: http://store.steampowered.com/news/22800 https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/July_8,_2016_Patch
>Short version: We hear you. Later today, we will be shipping a patch to Casual Mode that will remove the penalties for abandoning a game, and allow you to narrow your game mode selections from two modes to a single mode before queuing. Additionally, in the very near future, we will be shipping a more comprehensive Casual Mode patch that will let you select the maps you will be matched into.
This update is a big opportunity for those community servers to bring back more people again, since casual mode is still jerky and people are still complaining.
>>200702 Not really had many of those problems. Guess my bias comes from many of the community servers I frequently used all died a while ago.
Haven't run into, any hackers, maybe one or two in about 13 matches. And overall I like the player cross section of levels. Keeps the games from being utter waste of newbs and not a clean sweep of veterans.
>>200707 This update has became very divisive. A loud mayority (le reddit being one of the most voal about it) are basically pissbabies whose valid points get lost on their outrage against valve and rage aginst who don't agree with them.
Only thing I will agree on is Match Balance would be a nice addition. Running into a few matches of just a few High levels outclassing everyone on the map. Which in turn leads to that mass disconnected problem leaving your side 3-4 down on players.
What if the flamethrower just got a bit of a range increase in general and a more refined flame physics. Instead of just hitting a wall you can curve it along a wall.
Blowing the cobwebs off this thread to ask a question: any of you guys think Valve will do something for TF2's 15th anniversary in a couple weeks? I'm not holding my breath personally but who knows.
>>423514 It's still regularly in the top ten most played games on Steam and the fans are still passionate about it as shown by the whole SaveTF2 thing a couple months back. The reason I have my doubts is due to their not being a major update in five years and Valve basically going silent about the game outside of the annual Halloween and Christmas events.
TF2 keeps getting updates but I don't hear anyone talk about it anymore. Its just shuffling along in the background appearing in the What's New bar in my steam library occasionally.
