It really cannot be said enough how tightly designed Guacamelee is as a game, and all this stuff they seem to have added in the STCE looks great too. I doubt they fixed the endgame stuff that ultimately stopped me from finishing the game but still, rad game, look forward to whatever else the devs make.
I kind of wish they'd take the Rule of Rose save they made for this years Shitstorm and do a full LP. Both the game and the commentary have been pretty interesting so far.
I hope, when Woolie is playing the Dark Souls II DLC and runs into the gang of invaders all in the mad warrior (ie Predator) set, they kill him and he yells out "I'm one of you!"
>>190969 The latest DS2 vid just makes both of them sound burned out on the game. I'd rather they switched off with Liam trying to guide Matt just to see what would happen.
Ahaha oh shit Pork Lift and Wateyad's The Last Story Frown Precure thread is back and it's just as amazing as ever. I remember naked Zale but totally forgot about all the ridiculous bullshit they put on everyone else, like that insane Ornstein set they stuck Dagran in.
Also Syrenne remains the absolute best girl of all JRPGs.
>>190970 Except that would be pretty fucking stupid since they would be basically starting the entire game again, and when they played it they missed the Maiden and never even got any Estus so they'd be doing far worse if thats any indication.
Woolie is just burned out on that segment of the DLC and Pat is commentating on the negative aspects of this one section, that its the worst particular part of the game. Woolie was also exhausted the last couple of videos from not sleeping which has loaded him with salt. You are overreacting.
>>190977 I suppose I should have elaborated; Matt would go through the DLC with Liam's character. They would botch everything spectacularly but in a new area - everyone wins! Unless you want gud gameplay. You might want to switch channels in that case.
This LP has convinced me that The Last Story is the game that should have gotten the attention that instead rained down on Xenoblade. Well maybe Pandora's Tower was also good. That was the other project Rainfall one I think? Well I guess I can't speak to the gameplay too much, like Xenoblade it has a lot of that MMO aggro-management shit that I hate JRPGs for picking up, but it seems like it makes up for it with dumb bullshit like the Prank Bananas.
In any case the real star of the LP is the absolute childlike wonder that Porklift and Apples derive from playing dressup.
>>191147 Xbone has had consistently better and more interesting games than PS4 so far. I still won't ever get one, because of Microsoft's business tactics. I know they've taken most of them back, but just the fact that they tried in the first place is enough for me to lose any goodwill towards them.
Damn, D4 has a really fucking good soundtrack. Not even in the DP sense of quirky songs that eventually grow on you, it's seriously way better than most AAA titles.
>>191162 Games like that should get a larger reception. I'm glad they are playing it in hopes of boosting its appeal. Maybe get some more of the madness that is SWERY.
//youtube.com/watch?v=R1nJIk86GEo Jesus christ this is the game that just keeps on giving. REALLY hope more people are gonna buy it after this. I just hope there's enough content in it that LPing it isn't going to ruin the surprise for people considering how minimal the player interaction seems to be.
As an actual Bostonian I just want to say a game produced by a Japanese company is the last place I thought I'd ever find a reference to the Dropkick Murphys. Also those accents are equally atrocious and hilarious.
>>191162 I'm surprised neither this or Deadly Premonition have gotten slammed with copyright infringement lawsuits over their music considering Metal Gear Solid got sued and lost over way less. Probably because these series are so niche that nobody cares.
>>191218 There's the fashion designer but he's in love with his female mannequin or something. I'm pretty sure he's just a joke about general campness and overly pretentious fashion designers in general, not gay.
>>191219 You'd really have to reach to find anything particularly offensive in D4. I mean Deadly Premonition was way worse about it because of that one guy and his plot twist, but even then a lot of the people who did have problems with it changed their opinions by the ending anyway and thought it canceled out or at least realized the circumstances were too complicated to just chalk up to SWERY being homophobic.
>>191290 Kinda. It's basically RE4 if they stayed with the Hooked Man incarnation and made the main character as boring as possible. At least Arthur-kun from Inception is kinda cool though.
>>191307 Second Gen Game Reviewers LPers are going to be interesting. Will it be cute to see James Spawn going on a rant when she's a kid like her daddy did at her age?
>>191379 Game looks pretty but really boring from an art design standpoint. Say what you will about RE4 being scary or not but it was way more memorable and tackled the atmosphere a lot better.
>>191214 While I've seen more than enough people who 100% legit think this way, pretty sure this one is a false flag. There were several posts on /v/ exactly about pulling this. If it ropes in morons extreme enough to agree with it, then that's another story.
I just started a new let's play. I'd really like to get some feedback on what I did/didn't do right, so if you're willing to give any it's appreciated.
>>191459 >Now, if you're offering to make some, then yeah I'd be very interested.
Well, sure. I can't imagine it'd be too time-consuming. Maybe I could do a proof of concept and from there we can see... How 'bout you shoot me an email?
>>191674 They mentioned this in the last podcast previously: even turning both of those setting to the default setting didn't make crashes less frequent.
>>191710 I'm so excited for the The Fall LP. It's a great game. And episode 2&3 have been funded at this point, so I hope the LP will make some people pick them up next year.
Skimming through the SBFP thread on SA, I learned that the incendiary bolts are a pre-order bonus. If Pat hadn't pre-ordered, that spider-woman fight would have been an entire episode.
Greg Kasavin, him of Supergiant Games and formerly Gamespot, has been playing DA:I. Apparently he's aiming for 3 hours or so every other night until he's done. You can see it over on the Giant Bomb Unarchived youtube channel.
>>191970 Wow, it's odd that they decide the boss can't be beat and that you get those goodies in some different way. They already remarked that she was more burnt than last time.
The second boss *is* pretty difficutl to beat with finesse though.
Metal Gear Scanlon is about to jump headfirst into the screaming void of madness that is the MGS2 endgame. I can't wait to see Drew react to that shit.
>>192251 Am I the only one who thinks The Evil Within still looks like a pretty decent game, despite all the glaring gameplay flaws that were on show and the surprises spoiled for me? There's a lot of really neat showpieces and some aspects of the game do seem fun if flawed. I still wouldn't buy it at full price though. But it seems like it had a lot of untapped promise and if they ever make a sequel I might actually be excited for it.
>>192275 I liked it. DLC might be the only thing close to a sequel we get. It that I mean that the DLC explains everything leaving no room for a sequel.
>>192275 It's definitely got some things going for it and the mid-game seems pretty pretty fun. The main reason I'm unlikely to buy it, even on sale, is because the PC version will probably still be bugged to hell even when they stop patching it.
>>192290 Pretty game but man do I hate a lot of the new character designs. BlazBlue was always too "anime" to me and I hate how with Overture onward they've incorporated more and more of that aesthetic.
>>192301 Angry Pat used to be funny, over time he's just kept taking it so over the top that it's now annoying as fuck. TWD Season 2 was ruined because of it, though I'm amazed he didn't pull it out for The Evil Within where he'd have more reason to be salty.
>Did you know oranges were originally green? They called them greens. BUT THEN THE PATRIOTS CHANGED IT! Metal Gear Scanlon has become one of my favorite things Giant Bomb has ever done. It has already surpassed the Deadly Premonition Endurance Run for me. Dan's child-like glee, Drew's baffling bouts of spontaneous incompetence and his refreshing outside view of the batshit insanity that is Metal Gear make for the perfect entertainment concoction.
Drew stares into the gaping maw of destruction, and Metal Gear Solid 2 stares back. http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/metal-gear-scanlon-2-part-13/2300-9817/
>>192347 Oh, this is seriously wonderful. I love this level of insight and personal experience out of the people who made this game, and talking in hindsight and such.
http://www.giantbomb.com/articles/the-end/1100-5160/ Patrick is leaving Giant Bomb. Pretty sudden. Not sure wether it was by his choice or because CBS weren't willing to employ him any longer, seeing how he was kind of an outlier, being the only one who was still working from home. I wouldn't say I'm gonna miss him or that I care for his content, but I do hope he'll do fine wherever he goes.
I loved the first 4 casts but just couldn't listen to the last when I got "Brad and Alex going for each other throats" and "Jeff backs Destiny because fuck you guys" spoiled for me.
>>192474 'tis been entertaining, but taking 34 episodes to remember that Amy had a triple-jump was annoying as fuck.
Still, it's a good argument as to why tutorial levels are counter-productive, you mash through them and don't pick up anything until the game literally forces you to remember.
>>192580 Up until recent Woolie and Liam still had jobs, plus previous obligations and planned trips afterwards for the whole crew and Matt finally having things in place for the wedding, now all four are working on projects both in separate groups and individually so just a guess but their editing ability effectively doubled.
My friend has never played a FF game, or indeed any JRPG really, so I thought this would be funny. None of us know understand video or audio, so we lost the first two episodes and had to rerecord them. The posted first two episodes still have audio issues, and 3 and 4 involve alcohol. We're learning to play guitar while onstage!
What's this I've been hearing about Markiplier advocating wifebeating in one of his videos? Chances are it was probably just a dead baby comedy joke, nothing to get upset over.
>>192614 Probably just Tumblr being retarded as usual. He said something about how men who are victims of domestic abuse committed by women should be allowed to hit back in self-defense, which I don't see a problem with from a feminist perspective. Recognizing women's agency means acknowledging they have as much capacity to do evil as men do.
>>192680 That's why the Grumps stick to the 10-20 minute format, any longer and you really see their foibles, heck even the 10 minutes is usually strained for at least one episode a day.
>>192722 Really? I always thought he looked kinda strange. Not to the extent of uggos like Hiddleston, Cumberbatch, Matt Smith, or the cast of Yowamushi Pedal, but still really odd. I think a lot of it is the hair's fault though.
>>192956 Yeah, kinda, huh? Like, he seems like a really okay guy. Pleasant to work with, nice to talk to, stuff like that... But as for his on-screen/online persona? Yeah, fuck that guy.
>>192959 I actually thing the VS's and Steam Trains with Ross (that aren't animu novels) are the okish episodes. The rest I just sort of watch out of habit and while doing something else.
>start a let's play series with openly gay friend >am technically bisexual myself but not flamboyant or open at all about it >spends the entire let's play making dick jokes and gay-themed sexual references >judges every single male character's appearance in a "he's fuckable" way
I keep telling him to stop doing what he's doing, but I don't want to seem homophobic or anything. It's just a bit uncomfortable. And that has nothing to do with me being in the closet, I'm not, it's just not very enjoyable to listen to.
>>192975 I knew that feel when I played Lara Croft and the temple of Osiris and all the EVIL gods were animals and the good ones are human. Horus dont even have his falcon head for fucks sake! Lets hope a DLC skin back will fix that. But the gamepress dont cares about what furries think when they go on about how great it is that it dont have a straight white man in it... *sigh* Aw well, atlest I got that of my chest, fell much better now.
You made an incredibly rude, completely uncalled for comment that has literally no context with what I said, for no reason other than to be an asshole and start shit.
Demo Derby Featuring Jeff had me seek this out. Jeff is a treasure of a human being. As is Dan's dad, who popped in for UPF and apparently also a few other videos.
>>192981 >literally no context with what I said No, it was pretty relevant. Consider the fact that you were pretty vague with the source of your uncomfort in the post, anyway.
>>193176 Do they talk about Spiderman in the MCU? I forget how long these things are recorded before they're put up though I doubt it since that only happened last night.
http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/demo-derby-official-playstation-magazine-issue-85/2300-9944/ The last 15 or so minutes of this are so fucking magical. I'm still in tears.
God, Orange Fluffy Sheep's LP of DQ8 reminds me of how much I loved that goddamn game (also Rocket Slime). Of course, it also brings back the pain of how utterly awful 9 was.
I hope 10's cool. I mean, I guess I could go check out 5 and 7 since everyone likes those but I can't imagine they hold up mechanically.
So I've been hearing rumors about a girl accusing Markiplier of raping her or something (which sounds exaggerated at the most). Anybody more involved in the Markiplier fandom able to sum that up for me?
>>193341 It's been long enough that I no longer remember the specifics of all my complaints but from what I remember: -I hated having a party of ciphers instead of defined characters. -HORRIBLE implementation of a class system (getting a better class? Fuck you, back to level 1) -Related to the above, a truly atrocious level of grind >>193354 I forgot all about that. Though looking it up, it seems they're planning to put it out again on WiiU, possibly for all territories? MMOs are bad though so oh well. An actual new game is being made though in DQ11.
http://icewind.rocks/ Dave Snider and Ian Kelly of former Giant Bomb fame doing a co-op playthrough of Icewind Dale and streaming it. It's the ultimate in nerdiness. Don't watch if you're not prepared for hours of D&D talk and number crunching.
It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't just cap off just how little of a shit Liam gives about playing this game. Even Matt gave a shit while playing a terrible game like Downpour.
>>193445 It's just the formula they use. Do something (stupid) to anger people on purpose = more views Do something (stupid) to anger co-player/watcher (in this case Pat) = comedic effect = views
I've stated my dislike of Liam. I dislike him more now since he keeps stating that Paper Mario is a sequel to Mario RPG. Or at least I keep hearing talk about it in the video and I would like him to stop.
>>193451 No, I get SMRPG leads to Paper Mario and M&L, but I wont accept that they are sequels to Mario RPG. Paper Mario feels way too different to me and plays like Thousand Arms without the date sim part. I've felt like this since Paper Mario came out. Don't get me wrong I like Paper Mario, comparing it Mario RPG is like comparing apples to oranges. Both are fruits but with different tastes.

>Woolie beats Bio F.R.E.A.K.S. (on Novice) and challenges Maximilian to do the same >Max tries to do it in a stream (and insists on using the highest difficulty level) >the stream peaks at over 7000 viewers, but Max's crew gets stuck on the last boss (which is nearly impossible because Woolie's strategy essentially doesn't work on this difficulty level) >Pat and Matt both donate $100 each to the stream
