The Devil's Layer mission is much shorter now in the beta. I guess I should have seen this coming with the earlier bits in the mission were implemented into different missions in the story campaign. Not really a negative, but I don't like how The Devil's Layer now starts off with a Devil Walker; preferred the buildup in the alpha.

Anyway, I'm impressed with the beta so far. (Thank you colleague in the UK who had an U.S. PS4 code).

Are there only two MP maps in the beta? Played Moon and Venus so far.

The game had massive amounts of hype preceding it, ended up ultimately mediocre and came out at a point in time where reviewers were particularly on edge and irritable, so it was a prime target for taking out some of that frustration.

Plus Sony/MS put Bungie on a pedestal and said "gaem plz". Even if they defined FPS on consoles, they've just repeated the schtick since then, so expecting anything beyond "solid but forgettable" doomed them in the reviews.

Hearing about the ten year deal for the game makes me feel something similar happened with StarCraft 2, so when is part 3 due out for that anyway? or does anyone still care or remember it's in three parts to get the whole story equal time.
