Hello thread. I have found a torrent on a Russian website that has several of the episodes with a different dub. It is not Engilsh and not German. I believe it is probably Italian, but I am not good with identifying it.

The torrent has 52 episodes available (which covers Season 1 and 2 I think). I've downloaded one to share with this thread as a sample. If we had any Italian speaking anons that wanted to help with the subtitle translation, I will do my part by contributing these video/audio sources.

If no one is intereseted I won't bother. I personally prefer the German but from my cursor listening, the dub seems pretty good in Italian as well.

Speaking of subtitles, I have been having trouble playing some of the files on my tablet. Font size or font position seems to be the problem. I've been converting the files to SRT and adjusting them. I don't know if I'm the only one having problems.

Thanks for notifying me on that. I believe one way to fix that would be the hardsub the videos unfortunately. I'll have to get to that after the translations.

Soft subbing is nicer when possible. I easily mux subtitle files onto the mp4's and mkv's without hardsubbing.

I'm still planning to do quality-assurance on all the subtitles. When the project is done, we can release a final version of everything, with consistent subtitle sizes and positions.

Quick heads up to the anon whose helping out on season 1 translations, a redditor is working at translating season 1 from front to back. I have just finished uploading season 1 episode 26 and reserved for him season 1 episode 25.

Just work on the translations at the beginning of the season to the end, to avoid clashing.

I am also helping out on the translations but it is a whole different hurdle for me as I have to learn a new language, on top of that I may not have much practice with German after the subbing project since I live in south east asia. I decided to leave a READ ME .txt file stating that the episodes I translate should NOT be used as a serious translation and used as a learning tool for German. Hell you would probably learn MORE German by fixing up my inaccuracies in the episode. I am deciding to add this to all of my translations for the future

Thanks I already updated the megalink sites for the new episodes we have already three new episodes up, two episodes for Season 4 and your episode for season 1. It was fine the idioms were no problem to be grammatically shortened.

I'm still proof-checking some of the English grammer in the subtitle files. When / if the series ever gets completely translated, I want to release a bulk download pack with soft-subtitles embedded on each episode.

I have access to the Italian dub raws (no subs) if that matters for anyone. I prefer the German dub though....

I don't know it there is still anyone on this, but I found a YouTube channel with pretty much all the episodes in the German dub in good quality.

Here is a site with all the episodes with the best quality I've seen so far. It's apparently the website of the channel that broadcasts the show. I haven't a clue how to rip videos though.

I figured out how to Rip them. It will take a while but can be done in about 9-steps.

1) Use Firefox
2) Install the Add-Ons "Video DownloadHelper": https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper . An icon will appear on your button-bar to access this plugin's features. It will look like a few circles.
3) Go to the website: http://www.kika.de/die-schule-der-kleinen-vampire/buendelgruppe1176.html
4) If you are using a javascript blocking add-on (like NoScript) enable scripts on that target website.
5) Click on one of the episode links. When it opens, click the video"Play" triangle icon.
6) Once the video starts playing, the button bar icon for Video DownloadHelper will change to have a "1" on it.
7) Stop/Pause the video from playing now by clicking again on the video-area. This will help the downloading for saving the file go faster.
8) Click on the Video DownloadHelper icon and you will see an item listed which matches the current episode title. Just click on the Download Arrow and the file will start downloading.
9) The Video DownloadHelper will blink again when the download is complete.


Optional: Once Video DownloadHelper has been installed, you can set the download location by clicking on the Gear-Icon. I believe the default is your user home folder in a subfolder called "Downloads".

I need to get back to proof-editing the subtitles for timing so we don't have overlapping lines. I haven't forgotten about this project. I've just been concentrating on restoring the Pepper Ann cartoon series. Almost done (which itself is pretty amazing).

I should add the file which is saved will probably be in an .FLV container. We probably should repackage them into a better container like MKV or MP4. But that's for later. First we need to get all the episodes downloaded, which will take a lot of clicks. Then we can handle the subtiles and everything, including attaching them to MKV files without needing separate files.

damn that’s really unfortunate. i tried to do it last year but the files screwed up and the subs didn’t work out. now that i finally decided to do it again (or at least look for s4 subbed) they’re all deleted 😅. i’m just glad we have season 1-3 subbed in english found on internet archive. there’s a few episodes on youtube too that are dubbed english, but i feel like some have either been deleted or removed.

I pray that SOMEONE saved the files and will reupload them someday.
