- The Dofus movie has been delayed to February 2016
Physical release pushed back to December/January, digital rewards to start going out in October, along with free streaming of the 3 new special episodes for backers. Additional special episode to be released at a later date on DVD with the making-of video (it's still in writing phase).
More updates to come around twice per month as needed (we'll see)
>>51265 Scratch that, they just posted an update. Physical rewards are delayed until December or later, but read on for details: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1836563008/wakfu-the-animated-series/posts/969516
Hi Seth, this topic is just for the series? Can I post comics here? Because I'm working with Les Kamas de la Soif 2/2 and be soon finish. Or I post in: http://boards.plus4chan.org/co/t227776.html or Do I make other topic?
>>51317 Normally I'd say make a separate thread, but considering there isn't much activity left in either fansubbing or scanlating, I think here is fine, unless others disagree.
Is anyone other than you still active in the team?
>>51321 I see. So are you just releasing the drafts or are there complete translations that hadn't been released yet and you're finishing those before you quit?
Dudes I love Wakfu and all the hard work you have done subbing it, unfortunately I find that all direct download links at the brotherhoodoftofu sites are down, where could I find the season 2 episodes for direct download? are there new linkls at other site? Thanks!!

Sorry for intruding, guys, but since this +4chan Wakfu community has talented translators, I figured it's better to ask for help here. If anyone is willing to lend a hand with translating The Long Long Holiday, your assistance will be much appreciated: http://boards.plus4chan.org/coc/t51775.html
>>51894 French lurker here, I wouldn't mind lending a hand. Never been in a subbing team before but I've already translated a Debil Starz short (produced by Ankama) last year, "The Good Father" : https://mega.nz/#!aoQRTI5Y!Cm9_peFp3oQeDI-ggwh7pbb-ynhkrDnMgAMyBOtO-bU. The translation is far from being perfect, but if I can help in one way or another, that would be a pleasure.
to people willing to help (translating, proofreading, timing, encoding, or even willing to make subs in other languages than english), contact me at : frenchyanon@gmail.com
I thought about making a lighter version than those 3+ Gb for people who are stuck with shitty connection (some have already mentioned it in the current /co/ thread)
>>51904 The issue is people with bandwidth caps and/or slow speeds from their ISP, not the file host.
Those people will have trouble downloading a larger HD file. The solution here is not to make a smaller "HD" encode, but to provide an SD one, because an excessively compressed 720p encode will look worse than a 480p encode of the same size.
I will gladly admit my total lack of knowledge regarding video encoding wizardry, and will leave the technical details to someone who knows what they're talking about. All I know is the demand exists for filesizes that are less of a strain on low-end or limited internet connexions, and I'd like to offer these people an alternative on top of a regular high quality release. An average quality solution is still better than no solution.
- Transcription is done, barring aesthetic changes for release. - English translation will begin in earnest tomorrow but is already under way. - Russian and Spanish have already progressed nicely - I believe the other languages are waiting on the English translation.
And since no one has said it here as of yet, thank you very much Bernd for the rip!
>>51909 Frenchy Anon is in charge, Seth is helping. We'll have Ebony Sable, Chojiki, RD and Doc for review. The latter are mostly from the comics team if memory serves, but most did at least a bit of both anyway.
- Korean translation has begun with a new translator replacing the original Koreanon. - Russian and Spanish drafts are about halfway through. - English draft is progressing nicely and reviewers should start looking at it today. - Kenny has provided low-res and very-low res encodes for us so we should be able to release smaller downloads and hardsubs down the line for those who prefer them.
Okay, made progress on the english version, currently arond 72% and Seth will be taking on where I stopped for a while. Keep in mind though that these percentages only show progress on the rough draft and don't take into account the long and painstaking process of proofreading.
Aaaand draft complete for the English subs. That machine translation sure is speeding things up. Props to our other translators who can't rely on it and are still trucking along nicely!
>>51922 >Implying we didn't even read what we were putting down
You know us better than this, guys. MT is just a small step of the process that saves us typing obvious words.
1. Paste machine translation into translation field if not completely off the mark. 2. Fix/improve translation. 3. Reviewers go over the draft and suggest improvements. 4. Vote on final changes.
Just a suggestion: it might be better to make final corrections in subtitler program itself - it's far easier too see where pauses and stuff are. I've been commercially translating stuff for the last year already, and I never use Winword scripts - all is done straight within subtitler
>>51927 You're right that that's more efficient, but you don't have 5 different people suggesting changes that you have to keep track of... We need something we can all edit in real time.
The series used to take a long time because there's a lot of in-game trivia and puns that translators needed researching. Does the movie also delve deeply into the Dofus lore?
>>51929 I would say it relies a lot less on puns, even though there are a few, and most of them aren't as critical to the movie's humor. They also went easy on the lore references in order to be accessible to a general audience, so there is also less specific terminology. Other than Dofus, Gobbowl, Ecaflip and Huppermage, it's very tame. You can also see it in the background characters: mostly classless, with the occasional catgirl or Eniripsa, and a couple Sadidas and Osamodas for good measure, and very few anthros compared to the series.
All in all, the movie will be much faster to sub than the equivalent runtime in Wakfu or Dofus episodes. I remember some Wakfu episodes released up to 4 or 5 days after airing; we might just make it under 7 days for the movie even though it's four times as long, if review goes smoothly. The delays are almost always due to scheduling review anyway. Once we actually manage to sit down and do it, it's just a few hours' work.
>>51931 Do these russian guys work in collab with you? As in: do they intend to post translation when they're done? Can you link where you take picrelated from?
>>51932 It's only one Russian, and I assume he's not subbing it for his own benefit, so I'm sure he'll link it here when he's done, or at least give us the link so we can pass it along. We're collaborating insofar as he can ask questions about the source there so we can help, and he did the timing for us.
You won't be able to see the chart without joining the localization team (I'm not even sure the other people on the team can see it), but don't worry, I'll keep posting updates at least once a day.
>>51949 Yes, and by god, it's garbage. Actually, all netflix comedy series i've translated so far are kinda... not well. They all feel like a bunch of unrelated gags that creators tried to tie together.
Well, back to topic - can't wait to watch the movie. From fast-forwarding, it take it that it explains how Joris came to be
Ok, then what he is exactly (what species or whatever). btw, it seems he has no genitalia (going off those shots when he is naked in the movie). Actually, he looks like a puppet
We've reviewed 23 minutes of film (with a couple things to get back to later). In seven goddamn hours. This is even worse than I remembered. Will continue tomorrow and be at it probably longer. And then probably the next day.
>>51983 You can preorder the Blu-ray on Amazon too: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B01BX1VFJY/ (The DVD is there as well) It's really easy to import from Amazon. I think you can even login with your .com account if you have one. Total comes out to like 30 ameribucks with the cheap shipping for me. Though I should note that I've never actually ordered anything from Amazon.fr (only Amazon.co.jp, which is a bit different) so it might be less painless than it appears. Guess I'll find out.
Also I'm fairly certain that this Blu-ray will be region locked like the DVD. Blu-ray region lock is a little different but France is Region B, North America is Region A.
>>51991 Yes, I plan to release hardsubbed versions of the two incoming lower resolution softsubbed versions that I already encoded. No HD though, at least not from me. My internet connection can't handle the upload of very big size files.
Yes! YES! It's downloading! It's muxing! It's updating! It's ready! Aaaand... I have to go out for two hours. What timing... :P --- Still. It's great it's here. Btw, dat dazzling army, tho. So fabulous.
A little note to people who will distribute this on other supports : we would appreciate if you included the readme.txt file in your distribution/archive/torrent . Not that we can force you to, but it'd still be nice. Thanks
Anywhere where i can find the other missing subs (spanish, Portuguese and Korean)? Last time I've seen them was on the Google Drive stream, but didn't get them. Just wanted to have everything on my mega backup.
>>52022 Portuguese and Korean aren't done as far as I know. The Spanish guys don't want to release the standalone subs because apparently other people have been stealing credit for their subs/scanlations.
>>52026 It's not confirmed that they will be able to make more movies, and it will take a while before we hear anything on that front. As for a movie adaptation of their comics, they insist on never telling the same story twice, so don't hold your breath (but I'd kill for a Tangomango cartoon).
>>52027 I know they're expanding with studios in the South East Asia just for animation, a sign they're gathering more people power. They're making more of something, just not certain if it's movie #2 or another animated series.
Still sitting on my scan of 'Les Dessous de Dofus' because of this last joke that doesn't translate. I had some ideas but wondered if anybody here can think of something.
No spoilers but for context, the original graffiti should be something pro-drinking like that. What Kerub changes it to could be anything but probably involves the King to get a crowd like that.
>>52066 à poil isn't only for nude. It's also means "without money". In some cases it can means "awesome" or something, but definite article should be there (au poil). Anyway, I'm not native speaker too.
Do we have someone recording it? I'm outside france so I can't receive the DVB-T signal which is the easiest way to record France 4. If not, does someone know when it's going to be on iTunes or so on?
>>52292 France 4 is broadcasting from 5W satellite (Eutelsat 5 West A) without any encryption, but in multistream format. So anybody can record it if you have satellite receiver that can understand multistream. Unfortunately, I have receiver without this feature.
>>52294 There is two France 4 on 5W. https://www.lyngsat.com/tvchannels/fr/France-4.html First one you're talking about in Fransat package, the second one on 11509 H and it's totally free. I used to watch it when it was classic MPEG2 stream. Then it goes to MPEG4, I bought new reciever, and now it goes to multistream. And I need new receiver again.
I'll stay out of this one, but if you need a hand to set something up like we did for Julith, or an extra pair of ears for parts of the transcript, same e-mail as always.
(Crossposting and piggybacking on Seth's answer...!)
So with the full release this Saturday, some of the official sub team are going to be working on S3, but we could use some more volunteers. More native French speakers, another English speaker for proofing, and anyone who's interested in receiving the French transcripts from us (to translate to a language apart from English) are welcome to contact the attached e-mail for more info. We also welcome anyone who has experience doing subtitle timing/video encoding.
Unless my email is holding out on me (which I wouldn't put past it), I haven't gotten any email. I would be overjoyed to join the subs team again, if you're willing to have me.
That's why you can resize the player and make the video bigger without having to reencode the whole episode for literally zero gain, but you're the guy who did Dofus in the same way so you are beyond help anyway.
Also forgot to mention: the MEGA folder is being updated with 1080p rips, since I've finally found a reliable source (all the others seemed to have A/V distortions, bad encoding, etc...)
The next 3 releases, at the very least, will be in 1080p. Phew!
>>52329 By the way, Sable, didn't see this earlier. Frenchy told me you wanted to help? Shoot me a line at wakfu.subteam(at)gmail if you still do, we could use at least one more English proofer if you're able to do that.
I did timing on episode 15 of season one, I know that it is the easiest thing to do in the whole process but if you guys need help I am around.
Which as a side note, it is funny to think about because I started taking French in college the year after that episode to help with subs but I ended up not following the project anymore because college was kicking my ass.
Thanks for the hard work as usual guys. Just wondering, but is there a higher quality rip of of the AUTHORITY Dofus episode rips? I remember way back when it was airing there were a few random episodes I downloaded from here that were noticeably higher quality than the standard 720p upscales.
>higher quality rip of of the AUTHORITY Dofus episode rips
A higher quality rip of a rip? The AUTHORITY one is from a France 4 rerun and the channel aired it in terrible quality or it was the SD channel they recorded from. The only good ones we have are the polish ones 1-26 from Teletoon+ and the old France 3 ones 1-25,27-30 or so.
Yeah, my bad. I meant higher quality rip THAN the AUTHORITY rips. Well I was just wondering but it seems that AUTHORITY is the only one with consistent quality and a full rip? I'm looking at my old Dofus folder and its labeled "Kerub Complete" and I think its the one with the Teletoon+/France3 rips. Is there any news on a Bluray release for Dofus?
Nothing as of yet, though Ankama doesn't have the rights to the show for a few more years and the DVD sales were so shit that France tv didnt bother with the second part of it.
>>52356 Friday night and saturday were slow because most people weren't on during the same time periods. however we made very good progress saturday night and we are touching the last lines of dialogues that are a bit tricky right now
Alright, sorry this one took a bit longer than usual, but we're finally there. .ass subtitles for all 4 languages are now aviable on the Megas folder, along with the raw video.
>>52361 Yeah? Well you get what you pay for, and I'm just glad they're subbing this at all. It's not their fault that Ankama is dumping the eps, most of the time a sub group only has one ep a week at most to work on.
>>52361 Well, golly, it's not like these people live lives separate from subbing episodes of a French cartoon. Nope, this is all they do, all day long, everyday of the week. And when it takes longer than a day, that's just them teasing us for kicks n giggles. -_-
>>52365 The /co/ threads have been pretty terrible in general this season, between the bickering, forced memes and constant sex talk, although they seemed to get better late last week. It's a shame, I'd been looking forward to renewed discussion. Now I'm not sure it's even worth staying in the thread.
>>52368 Really what do you expect from /co/ after they forced made wakfu a general and had avatarfags and bloody fanfiction writing. The only good to come from /co/ let alone 4chan are the amazing guys working on the subs here.
another oldtimer here and another case of "get off my lawn" man aka I'm getting to old for that shit on /co/. while I'm no longer involved in here I really appropriate the hard work you guys put into proper 1080p rips and well done subs. all the ADHD kiddies that can't wait more then 5 min on /co/ give me a headache.
I'm here long enough to remember the first version of the bread episode, so I can appreciate how much better the current version has it. The Wakfu sub team is the only /co/ related project which ever took off and actually did a good job.
Just to keep up the tradition: updates on submarine status when?
Except it's more than two weeks after last episodes aired... Yeah, it would be great if you guys actually finished the work. Also the pastebin "from /co/ to /co/" needs updating at the very least with the mega.
>>52396 I know. But... you are supposed to be the official unofficial subbers. And people made quicksubs ON THE SAME DAY. Some near perfect. You can just take them, mix them into raws and just put them into one, nice, mega.
So, Dofus is available on a streaming service called VRV now, albeit in English dub only. I noticed that the quality is a lot better than the one in the MEGA link. Would it be possible to rip it from the siet or is there a better option coming out soon (like Blurays or something)?
>>52545 Someone already ripped them but so far he didn't shared them, only streamed the episodes. VRV is weakly protected you may be able to easily access and rip them. Also the series and the Dofus movie will be available on Netflix this April.
>>52554 That sounds reassuring. Not sure how they were doing before with Fly'n and the Wakfu MMO considering how the sub model drove about 70% of beta players off/Dofus still has more players. Having just finished watching Dofus Book 1, I hope that they can continue the entire storyline because that movie was so fuggen good.
I've always had the impression the animations are vanity projects and the money from the games are funding it. Has the series elevated the lore so much that they're crucially concurrent to the game and a must have?
>>419331 Yeah, we got a lot of shit done, all told. It was pretty great to see how much the community grew from what was originally a few strangers putting together some subs haphazardly and a bunch of shitposts about hips. And it was fun to uncover parts of the lore together with each new release and theorize about the rest.
The newest Ankama movie Princesse Dragon (2021) is available as a VOD now after 10 months. Does someone here have a french CANAL+ subscription? Pretty sure they use DRM, but one could screen record it with a lossless capture card and the HDCP fix.
>>419475 Here are the raw french subtitles of the movie if someone wants to start translating it.
It's some dumb ttml format that should be converted to srt (remove the font color tags and get rid of all the hearing impaired lines + useless ... dots): https://files.catbox.moe/y7tera.xml
>>50963 Ok it works. Last time I tried to post there was a server error.
I've got the first 2 Seasons here: https://nyaa.si/view/1024005 and https://nyaa.si/view/1024049
However they are indeed for some reason at 24fps, despite the cartoon being intended to be played at 25fps.
Normally I'd just use an mpv config file and solve this problem. However, I want to use my Nvidia Shield because I want to make use of the upscaling it provides which is actually good. In which case, I'm limited to something like PLEX, which does not allow me to change the FPS.
Is there instead, another torrent somewhere or could someone share any 1080p rips of this cartoon which were done at the intended 25fps framerate? Surely there has to be something. I just cannot find it no matter where I look.
>>419556 The VOD 1080p rips have 25 fps, but they are much lower quality. The bluray rips have like 3x the bitrate and 5.1 audio.
I remember someone mentioning the framerate problem but I don't recall the specifics. Honestly I'd just watch the bluray version, that 1 fps makes little difference unless they specifically fucked up the encoding.
>Ok it works. Last time I tried to post there was a server error. When was that?
>>419557 The problem with the bluray mastering is that they included lossy audio (only DTS and actually the same track twice for each language) and the FPS on the Bluray is 23.976 and not 25 how it was in the original. Which means you couldn't encode it back to 25 fps since you would have to speed up the audio slightly and by thus reencode an already lossy audio track again.
Just download the Bluray and tell your player to play it back with 25 fps and you will have it how it was supposed to sound.
>>419558 Can't you just do something like set the MKV to play back faster? It has been a while since I toyed around with MKVToolnix but it has a lot of options for delaying and even resyncing playback framerate.
>>419572 Please let us know if you find a way or a different source. I would like to add a bit of information about him to the wiki seeing how he’s involved in season 4.

> Video and audio is from ADN since that has less banding and no watermarks. > English dub, English, Spanish, Portuguese subtitles from the Ankama Launcher. > French subs from France.tv
Are there any raws around for Abraca? It seems it's the only ankama series with no available sources outside france where I also can't locate a mega link for.
