It's great to see more of Invincible, and Battle Beast was one of the more interesting characters. Hopefully we'll see more of his daughter as well as Terra.
>>482666 We'll most likely see his daughter in later issues after he dies They could continue the story by calling her battle beast Like captain marvel or lady thor
>>482846 The Thragg fight was good but most of it was off screen Maybe the series ends with a full uncut version of the fight from battle beast's perspective with inner monologue about how he feels alive finally
>>482627 And here I thought it is gonna be about these guys. Isn't Battle Beast kinda dead now, anyway? And his daughter was succeeding him. He was also a rather one-note villain, basically Kraven in spaaaace, hunting heroes from planet to planet, trying to find the one enemy who could defeat him.
Boy this was just a lot of panels of him walking and then fighting. Pretty boring. And he remains a one-note character. Also, pretty sure Kirkman stole his design from Magic the Gathering. :P
>>482863 >Isn't Battle Beast kinda dead now, anyway? And his daughter was succeeding him. Yes, Thragg killed him, and in the epilogue of the story they showed that he had a daughter who inherited his thirst for battle.
>He was also a rather one-note villain, basically Kraven in spaaaace, hunting heroes from planet to planet, trying to find the one enemy who could defeat him. He didn't hunt heroes, he was just looking for whoever was strong enough to give him a proper fight to the death. He was so crazy about the idea that when Thragg was wounded by the ragnars, he cut his own stomach open so it would be a fair fight.
And yeah, Kirkman is a retard who can't come up with anything more complex than one note characters. Then again, he also wrote a full page defense about Rob Liefeld, calling him a modern comics prometheus.
>>482866 Do you not know what a storyline means? OP, please continue once the next issue comes out.
>>482868 I read both issues now, and must say it takes effort to make a character this unlikeable. And I say this after reading ALL of the Lobo comic. Lobo is entertaining while being an unrepentant brutal badass. More to the point he doesn't eat people, or kills anyone on a whim, not unless he gets paid for it, or they piss him off. As it is, I fully support the ship's AI to get Battle Beast killed.
>>482886 Yep, pretty much my problem with the character, and so many Image comics characters, they tend to be generic, or derivative of other better heroes from DC or Marvel.
Pretty much all characers in Invincible are unlikeable, the writing is just bad.
You can see how much its just another "Superheroes suck" series with how it treats all the other heroes, they aren't even allowed to have credability in their own comics that have nothing to do with viltrumites, always being shat on by evil characters and not allowed their own victories.
The bullshit Robot constantly gets away with is the worst, even dying and being reduced to a brain in a tube doesn't stop him from taking over the world again. Because Mark set him up foolishly to be able to take power again. Mark is a constant fuckup despite being the protagonist, and we're supposed to feel him becoming "benevolent all-powerful viltrumite space dictator" is a postive ending to the comic?
The problem with fight scenes in the invincible universe is its all just retarded grugs smacking each other in the face like a much less interesting dbz, while covered in strawberry jam.
This can even be seen in the fighting game they are bringing out, its worst than dragonballz fighting games where chunks of the roster are just goku to the point people make memes mocking it. In this case most of the roster is just made out of boring samey flying bricks (not even just the viltrumite fighters but more on top of them).
>>482978 >retarded grugs smacking each other in the face like a much less interesting dbz
I think you have a rather cherry colored memory of DBZ cause a lot of fight scenes make zero sense there either (basically anything not taken directly from the manga).
>>482979 The DBZ/S franchise is shit to be sure, but their fight scenes even at their dumbest were still more interesting than that seen in Invincible which is the problem.
>>482980 no, the problem is that you are a vegetarian at a butchers shop. DBZ is about magical martial art showdowns. Invincible is about pounding ketchup. They are about as similar as Solitaire and Poker.
>>482981 Invincible is more about Kirkman thinking he's better than superheroes with his ohso deep ideas. Like having Invincible diss Spider-Man, Batman and all the other companies heroes for their naming conventions in the crossover comic... despite his own peers being heroes named the likes of 'Monster Girl' and 'Robot'.
>>482982 >Like having Invincible diss Spider-Man, Batman and all the other companies heroes for their naming conventions in the crossover comic... despite his own peers being heroes named the likes of 'Monster Girl' and 'Robot'.
>>482982 Honestly, so far the only comic of his I liked was Astounding Wolf-Man, and mostly because that had a concrete plot and beginning and end. His superheroes I find just too generic in Invincible. Everyone feels like a knockoff of a well known DC or Marvel hero instead of them trying to do their own thing. They also do not elaborate the side characters well enough.
>>483067 He goes out of his way to piss on the side-characters, its like a more spiteful version of how the Z-fighters are treated. They aren't even allowed to have credability in their own spinoff comics that aren't related to the 'main' plot.
