Discuss about the instances and uses of transformation in storytelling by comics and cartoons.

The Werewolf is a timeless classic, but feel free to discuss and post images of other kinds of transformations

Feels like Claremont's X-books should be replete with this stuff, but I'm drawing a blank on examples. The Brood Saga, maybe?

Excalibur was absolutely riddled with it. Aside from the Warwolves and Technet listed above, Brian's brother Jamie was revealed as a low-level reality warper.

We both forgot the most obvious example (And fuck me, it shouldn't have been this hard to find a picture of her changing)
Been so long since I've collected I didn't even recognize Masque.

Then there's random stuff like the X-men's encounters with Mojo and that other alien dude from the annuals.
I suppose Magiik counts too when she goes demon. Wolfsbane definitely. I see they brought back Catseye.

Claremont is a fetish festival. Kitty is not even 14 and wants to bang Colossus nonstop, they all get impregnated by the Brood and almost transform into them, Illyana gets turned into a rape slave, and that's just from the top of my head.

Magik and Kitty get corrupted into Black Magik and Firecat in X-Men Forever, and Wolverine dies and gets replaced by an evil Wolverine clone, which I guess you could say is corruption by proxy.

Also the weird shipping with Betsy and Doug Ramsey. Callisto getting tentacle arms. The entire Shadow King saga and the BDSM corruption schtick that he was doing. Repetition of mind control and slavery with female characters. Every female character is borderline lesbian if they spend enough time with another woman.

The annual where that first started was chuck full. Upaging, (with corruption) downaging, Mojofication. All of which set the stage later for the first iteration of the X-babies.

Were Doug/Betsy actually shipped, though? I know Doug had a teenage crush on Betsy, but I only remember her trying to think up ways to tell him she didn't feel the same way and couldn't return his feelings even if she did.

Wasn't the Kitty/Piotr stuff the same at the start too?

It was teased a bit and not much else. He helped her break free of Mojo's control so they may have shared a brief raport. Otherwise it's mostly built up around the whole holyshitnakedlady scene.

One ate Kitty whole but that was a weird reaction with her powers, mostly they (magically) eat the insides and leave their skin which they can use to transform into them.

Fetish fuel is to cape comics what fanservice is to manga. If you find it offputting, then capes probably aren't for you.

No, fanservice is to cape comics as what fanservice is to manga, you retard.
What this stuff is would be the dude hired to write a comic inserting his own fetish into his work because he's braindamaged and can't stay professional.

It was one of those things that did not show up on the comics due to the low quality printing and the small size of the pages. When you view it in digital format you blow it up 5x in size and use whatever digital coloring they applied to the book (sometimes they completely recolor things for the worse in digital releases).

Filling up every page with absurd amount of detail is something that started later on (first it was a trend by the artists who later formed Image Comics, then with Image they used higher quality printing to further improve on things, then the industry moved on to digital coloring which was terrible at first but matured by the 00s).

Recolors in general are for the worse, I find. I've seen high-quality scans of old comics pages that are genuinely more appealing to look at than digital recolors.

The arbitrariness is what gets me. It's completely nonsensical. Why did this brown monster suddenly need to be bright magenta? Why did that red monster need to be green and the other brown monster orange?

Most of the people who do digital recolors get paid peanuts, so they put in only as much effort as corresponds to their wages.
