>>475854 Cats are fun to draw, even if I'm not a big fan of them irl. >>475905 Cool robots, do keep it up. >>476053 Fancy seeing you here. I would thank you for the advice you gave me, but you wouldn't even know what I'm talking about. >>476142 >Need to get back to the grind. That's the spirit man, keep it up and we're gonna make it.
>>476581 It's just something to help with proportions. You know, you make the ribcage to measure the arms, the pelvis helps shape the hips and the skull... well that one I just draw because I think it looks better than leaving the face empty. I'm sure artists can make do with just boxes and spheres, but I'm not at that level.
>>476057 thanks! >>476171 well, for whatever it was worth, I hope it was useful. >>476520 right on! eh, I have been maintaining a thread on /pco/. I just don't use other boards as often.
>>476520 Remember when /co/ mods banned you for 30 days for posting a draw of Nicole Watterson? Do you think the new 4chan will have better moderation?
>>477217 Either way I will not be posting there on day 1 of the site coming back online. If it's true that they spent 10 years failing to update their own source code, then I do not have faith in their ability to properly patch things up.
>>477219 I know for sure I've pissed off at least one mod, because I got a 3-day recently for a catbox link to a simple naked Jack Frost drawing I made. A CATBOX!
I stopped drawing for like ten years since I didn't think I would ever get any good and I basically completely forgot the basics. I forced myself to start again a couple of weeks back and I feel like I am actually making progress. It is still embarrassingly childish compared to everything in the thread so I am not going to share it but I am getting somewhere at least.
>>477839 That's the spirit, I've also recently had to re-learn the basics and it made me realize I was being pretty stubborn before, just making lines and hoping the drawing would appear from them. Let's both try our best to improve.
>>477436 It's supposed to a teenager, I've posted the finished version on the AT thread. To be honest, drawing buff guys is damn difficult to me, I need to work on it.
>>478663 Thanks, anatomy is tough, but fun too, like a puzzle. >>479262 Well, so far only you and Magi showed up, and even on 4chan these threads struggled to stay alive anyways.
>>481054 This is overall pretty damn good. One thing I'd say to pay more attention to is hairlines. The girl's looks a bit too high around the parting.
I drew some Emmas for the drawthread https://files.catbox.moe/5zfhgs.jpg https://files.catbox.moe/txcix7.jpg https://files.catbox.moe/2v8w6n.jpg https://files.catbox.moe/vc6wo4.jpg https://files.catbox.moe/69pr6d.jpg https://files.catbox.moe/6tla8e.jpg
>>481809 well it's not even if someone posts really good professional art there's a high chance it'll get 0 replies because no one cares now that ai exists
>>481815 Are you completely blackpilled or something? It's nowhere near that bad. I know because I check 4chan Prime every single day (when it's not dead), and when okay to great art is posted, people DO care.
>>481815 If it's not draw for them of course they won't care, it's why the thread dies so fast. I don't know why ppl bother posting when they get nothing in return.
>>481820 I see it all the time on 4chan. Multiple times I found deliveries from splooge in the drawthread that had 0 replies buried 300 posts ago and I was the first to reply to him just to say "oh nice to see you splooge". It's just the reality of things.
>>481829 The problem isn't that anons don't want to praise deliveries. The problem is that deliveries get lost in an avalanche of notepad spam posted by a tiny number of greedy anons, so no one notices the deliveries to praise them.
>>482449 This is very nice. I especially like your colors and textures. Something I'd suggest though is that abstract/cartoony heads never look right on realistic bodies. It's a common mistake, and it creates a dissonant effect. Either both the face and body should be cartoony or both should be realistic. Only combine them if you're deliberately trying to create dissonance. Apart from that, you did a great job on this.
>>482451 >Don't listen to this guy, the piece is great I think the pic is very good in its parts. I complimented what I see as its best parts, but I also thought it worth pointing out that combining abstraction and realism in a cheesecake pic can work against the intended effect. My more critical comments were meant to help, not to discourage.
> don’t change your style. The problem isn't personal style. His other pics are overall very good. The problem (in this particular picture only!) is that the abstract face/realistic body combo is unsettling. Abstraction and realism lie at opposite poles of a scale with a bunch of gradations between, and bringing them sharply together is really only done to create a feeling of unease.
For an example of this being done deliberately and to good effect, picture Emiri from WataMote and think of how odd she looks next to her classmates. Then ask yourself why Nico Tanigawa made her look like that and not some other way. Having an awareness of this stuff is useful because it can help you make more informed decisions when you draw.
>>482450 >>482451 >>482452 >>482453 I appreciate the feedback and the compliments. While I am saddened that some would find the body too realistic, I did consciously avoid adding too much surface detail and tried to simplify the body curvature enough that it didn't feel out of place with the original style. Perhaps the shading with the highlights added too much depth that it made it out of sync with the face, and it felt more like the body type from a female character on Archer rather than Ongezellig. That being said it's hard to find a balance when Ongezellig uses realistic body shapes and proportions with the cartoony face, so naturally I leaned into it and felt the rendering was justifiable. I'll try to keep this in mind when drawing the next golden bikini pinup.
I'm working on developing a comic; it's a mecha setting in the far-future Southern US. Here's one of the main characters. I'm not the best artist though so I'd love constructive criticism.
Would it be alright to post art and doodles related to Moral Orel here? Back on original 4chan I'd get told to go to /tv/ but not only does /tv/ not have any art threads, if I do see a thread about the show it usually gets directed back to /co/. It's like a Schrodinger thing at this point
>>482722 Not that anon, but one of the most tedious /co/ Prime mods likes to nuke threads about stop-motion and puppetry or move them to /tv/ because to him those shows aren't "real" animation.
>>482716 Thank you! Well, I'll post some anyway and if a mod here sees these and it's againt any rules, feel free to delete >>482722 Pretty much what >>482723 said, Moral Orel is not the only show to suffer a fate like that there, all stopmotion threads get demolished with no further explanation except "it's not real animation" which is sad because there's not much places to talk about the show anymore or drawfag for it but it's pretty much all I've been drawing the past months
Also since this is the WOYA thread, I don't know how effective this method will be for others but it worked for me so I'd really recommend you try timer drawings. I use some Japanese site called Webnote where the canvas automatically clears itself in 6, 15 or more minutes depending on the room you're in, it helps me a lot when I doodle because the time crunch helps me draw without worrying about fixing things or detailing. It also taught me a lot of muscle memory for drawing certain characters and things quicker so I suggest you try this method out yourself. The toolset is very limited and you can only color with an airbrush or low opacity lasso tool but the limit makes it more fun to play with in my opinion
>>482729 Oops, replied before refreshing so I saw this late sorry I'll try that one day, last time I made a MO thread on Prime I got a 3 day ban lol it was probably that one mod anon mentioned. It was over a year and a half ago I think, haven't tried it since then And thank you! The show's style is super fun to convert into 2D. I mostly draw OC x Canon slop but I like drawing characters I haven't before, the show has too much good yet simple designs
>>482731 Wait I'm retarded you said "make a thread here and redirect" not "make a thread there" ESL moment I think there's one in the catalog from years ago here that I bumped but even that got redirected to somewhere else by someone lol
>>482711 Thanks! All the mech designs for this project are based on various models of locomotive. This one is in-universe an outdated model so it's a bit more retro than the others.
>>482770 Without description I would think Quartana from Halo but mouse. >>482810 The darker side of pulp stories. This /Co/nrad had to put down mafia members and drug dealers with only his fists.
