>>473747 Honestly? While 4chan has been hacked before this is bigger than any other time. Even if we do rebound the site will never be the same (then again it was always heading to become a rotting corpse made irrelevant in infamy)
>>473739 Welp, guess this is it then. Hopefully Hirohito rebuilds the site, but considering how he neglected to update it for 11 years, my hopes aren't high.

well fuck, I don't think anyone saw that coming. and right before one of the best days, too. so, what you guys think we should do? we can wait it out, but it's uncertain if or when it will be back. I could post in another site, but I understand many of them do their own thing and I wouldn't know if starting a storytime would be cool with all of them. it's also a given that some people would probably miss it, even with the warning on /ghost/. over on wapchan they set up a board for displaced generals, maybe we could use it. or stick around here too. >>473804 I'm here, at least. last I saw enma he was going to cut hiro's head and bury it in the mountains. >>473810 I heard the mods are trying to get it working again, but who knows. it's one hell of a shakeup. >>473839 ~44 probably
>>473902 I really don't know. I only know of this place and 8kun and I don't know if they allow strorytimes. Is there anyone here more versed in 4chan clones?
>>473920 I know a couple, but most are dedicated to more specific topics and don't even have a /co/ board, it would definitely be rude to barge in. 8chan dot moe is one that allows board creation and even to make them invisible. it went down because of the sudden influx but just came back. wapchan is another with the aforementioned general board plus4chan looks ok, but I don't know if storytimes are allowed.
>>473963 Looked around a little bit here but the only story time I noticed was sonic from a while ago Not sure if that might have been a one time thing
>>473902 I vote for waiting game. At least we should take time to figure out where we are gonna start hanging out, until 4chan comes back, if it comes back. >>473945 Came as a surprise to me too. >>473963 8chan is back? Last I heard it went down for good, got replaced by 16chan, until it went down too, then got replaced with 9chan, which went down too.
>>473902 Enmanon is a good samurai. I'm glad you made it, Murderanon. Quite frustrating, I hope we didn't lose the newcomers just before the most relaxing story.
Judging by the "Unofficial Sonic Storytime" threads in the catalog that have been active up to March, finishing the storytime here might be an option. It's a tough decision, it'd help if we had an estimate on when the site will be back up. I'm not against waiting a few days, it'll give me time to finish chapter 2, but we probably don't want to wait too long and lose all steam.
>>474009 8moe is different from the other 8chan. >>474016 I also think it's wise to wait a few days. after tomorrow I'll be away from home until sunday, so that could be our limit date.
Speaking of storytimes, I have to wonder about the storytimes of /co/. Wasn't a decent number of the regular ones using Passes to make things easier? I worry.
>>474388 thanks for letting us know. will it be activated in the future, if the situation continues like this? I guess we'll hold off from doing it here meanwhile. just for context, the UY storytime is an annual event we've been doing for 8 years now, so there's a lot of people including me invested in seeing it through. >>474391 I did it a couple times, I can do it again, though it may be slow.
It's nice to contribute to these again, I haven't posted on 4chan since it stopped letting 4chanx users post.
It was a shockingly good marathon this year considering the genuine curse on the board this year. Loved all the actual japan research and that poor guy spending two years researching currency to finally realize Stan didn't. What a hero.
Nice to see that the Usagi bros know of this place. I didn't jump into the story times because I have a bunch of the books to read through but I am glad you took the time to share the comics with people.
>>473739 >Site ends up getting closed for April Fools Day >Site actually gets closed in the same month
Hopefully it`ll just be a waiting game to see if they`ll get their shit together and get the site working. If not I`ll be sad if this is how this annual storytime ends up after such a long run.
>>474398 >will it be activated in the future, if the situation continues like this?
It will have to be, the problem is that the site currently doesn't even have that functionality at all. And if I add it, it will need several layers of protections to prevent spammers from nuking all content. So I'd need to brainstorm it out first, and I'm too tired lately to do that.
>>473902 I have buried Lord Hiro's head in the mountains, along with casks of sacred salt so that the shoyu-nen yokai will not trouble his rest in Yomi. The location of his final resting place is a secret I shall take with me to the grave.
>>474388 >>474650 Thank you for the refuge you have given us. Glory to Nod
I have uploaded all the OC from the final thread to our mega.nz archives. Editfag I've included links to your catboxes in the AI Sloppa Containment folder. https://mega.nz/folder/Dsd31LiR#grnO0n2INCHplEWo4nOCYQ

If this is our last year, then my final gift to the storytime is in the mega. A copy of "The Sakai Project," an artbook published by Dark Horse to raise money to help the Sakai's medical bills in 2014 when his first wife Sharon was battling sadly, terminal cancer. It can be found in the appropriately named zip drive.
Lastly, do not give in to despair, my friends. If this truly is the end of 4chan, then we too must exercise "the patience of the spider" as master Ikeda taught us, and wait for our time to rise again. Draw strength from one another, and from the vast world. We shall surely meet again some happy day.
>>474771 Well, at the very least we got to meet here and coordinate. If nothing else, I'm still writing Neko Ninja Mayumi so anons will have that to look forward to if the worst should happen.
>>474423 Speaking of research, I feel foolish for having thought it wouldn't take that long to research what I needed regarding Buddhism. I feel like I just leapt into a rabbit hole with no bottom, and now here I am reading sutras, treatises, attempting to hunt down debates of the era between sects, criticizing Joto Shin Buddhism, etc.
I'm hoping my writing Chapter 2 is passable and not too inaccurate, but it seems like a subject one could easily spend years on.
>>474763 holy shit you're alive. you know, next time you should make sure the lord you're beheading is actually dead or things get award fast >>474769 a few I recognize, most I had never seen. what insane collection, thanks for sharing. >>474771 I see only two options: either continue on 8.moe or wait until 4chan is restored. rumor has it it will take 1 month, but I honesty doubt it if it is true. lets decide this until this sunday. >>474799 I'm looking forward to that.
I was working on this already before 4chan went down, didn't say anything because I wanted it to be a surprise. Felt kinda happy I didn't mention this before, because there might have been some anons who would have been bummed out about me being unable to deliver. Anyhow, here's my latest cyberpunk sloppa, everyones favorite cinnamon bun.
>>474423 >Stopped letting 4chanx users post. What do you mean? I was using 4chanx and actively posting in the UY threads before the hack took down the site. I was even using Oneechan to rice the site.
Any clue what Mayumi uses to tie her hair? We can see it is fully circular since we see both sides of it, so it probably isn't a ribbon. It looks like an elastic hair tie but that's a very modern invention. Most other characters with tied hair more obvious use ribbons and whatnot and I couldn't find one that wears something similar to what Mayumi uses.
And what do you think is her hair length? She might just have a shoulder length ponytail, but the consistent sort of blob-like shape makes me think the hair loops back under her tie and is longer than shoulder length.
>>475771 That did, thanks. That lead me to Geisha hairstyles, which lead to me learning what a 'kanoko' is, which is a sort of fabric tube used for hair styling which existed at the time. On the left is a homemade kanoko which I imagine would resemble what Mayumi would have, and would likely not be dyed. Dyed kanoko shibori fabrics were apparently so expensive during the Edo period that the Shogunate actually intervened and put price controls on it, I doubt a commoner would have such a luxury. I haven't found Mayumi's specific hair style, but I found this image on the right that atleast looks similar to Mayumi's hairstyle, sort of a bunned ponytail but tied a little lower than in the image.
>>475896 >here's your Internet Hate Machine bro Boy am I glad all these early modern period Japanese Buddhism and women's hair fashion posters got their toxic forum removed.
>>475729 >>475896 >>476179 Even on a different site I`m glad that they`ll be someone asking for a specific detail about fedual japan and getting a somewhat lengthy but informative answer in that same thread.
