>>473617 Co is victim of most cartoons and comics being shit to begin with. Also people that just cant let go and still repost general for shit only them care about.
>>473632 >>473638 So....... 8kun was the last iteration of 8chan before it was killed for good, right? Because what passes for 8chan today is an "unaffiliated project".
>>473665 It seems really fucking bad this time. Every mod and janitor on 4chan had their email and IP leaked seemingly. I really hope it's not 4chan's definitive death because it's like the only way I truly socialize. Hopefully it gets all fixed up...
>>473663 >you're not migrating here I mean, why not? It seems pretty comfy in here, I like the layout and everything, so if it truly was the end, I could see myself slowly but surely settle here. But >>473665 >Nothing ever happens, it'll be back soon and then we can all go back to wasting our time there. This anon is putting it very well.
That bad, huh? I don't know exactly what's going on since I'm late to the party.
If it's still down by the end of today I'll need to make a thread on another board here and see if anyone ever read the memo I kept up for the past decade for this occasion.
>>473672 Seemingly some people were able to hack into 4chan's backend and just ravage it. It was up for a couple hours in that state until it was completely brought down. I guess it's just a matter of time until we see if 4chan comes back up like normal or not now.
>>473670 Yeah I'm in the same boat. Mostly kept to /co/ and /vg/ with /coopg/, /mhg/ and /tesg/. Seemingly the only thing that was really leaked was old outdated stuff along with source code so while its not that bad it does mean extended downtime.
>>473663 >you're not migrating here This is the last corner of the Internet where the spirit of Old /co/ is still alive. I was here already and will still be here when the lights go out.
>>473663 For /co/ shit I may very well migrate here. The only other boards I regularly browse(d) are /k/ and /tg/, which I'm sure have enclaves on altchans as well.
>>473722 This place has always been the /co/ back up board for moments like this Never really made to be super active, just like many altchans The only time it was is when the tournaments got banned for a bit and the mod made /tnt/ to contain it all Even got around to adding the reload button as well during that time
>>473728 I remember you from like ten years ago, showing up both in /co/ threads and in animator blog comments. Thought you stopped posting or something, but nice to know you're still around.
>>473733 Interesting point actually. Since we can actually talk about the horses in peace, allow me to say Season 4 was the best one, G5 is rancid dogshit, Rarity is the best of the M6, G15 was a stupid fucking rule, getting up to watch the new episode on Saturday morning was the last time I genuinely watche Saturday morning cartoons and never has filled that hole in my heart, and I still think about Celestia even though I haven't watched the show in years.
>>473738 Plus also has actual moderation from what I've seen. I imagine all the annoying 'personalities' would get the boot proper if they tried to continue their bullshit here. >>473744 Hopefully kill themselves from the lack of attention
>>473756 I disagree hard Past april fools never made it so you couldn't post on the board you wanted to If you were using a smaller board then you got fucked and had no reason to post for the rest of the day Even then the bigger ones got blocked And it was lame parody of modern politics
I wasn't surprised in the slightest when I found out that the entire website got hacked and won't be up for quite some time (assuming it'll ever go back up). If anything, they sure had it coming.
>>473758 >If you were using a smaller board then you got fucked Eh it wasn’t that big a deal since most people don’t post daily on those boards anyways. It was mainly fun seeing different boards become refugees and post their autism, especially ponyfags.
>>473807 4chan has been hacked over a dozen times now and they usually take it down for a few days to a week or 2. Whether this is the end only time can tell.
blackhand you cunt, why is there no auto update here and why doesn't the thread snap back to the post with the image when you close an expanded image??? This is fucking basic shit even 4chans inline has. Credit where it's due, the various floating info balloons on mouseover is a nice touch.
>>473807 This isn't even remotely close to being the first time 4chan is down for undisclosed reasons. If it was truly kill you wouldn't get the cloudflare error box when you try to refresh the catalog on a board, for example.
>No manatee spammer in the Drawthread >No Death Battle threads >No annoying recurring Anons (i.e. Sharktalefag) There's one silver lining at least I guess
>>473847 It's only a matter of time. Toplessbot has been shitting up drawthreads on every board for over a decade. If you think he's never heard of +4, you're naive. But if the tourney shit is anything to go by, blackhand will actually deal with him if he starts shitting up the drawthread here.
That aside, why are you entitled niggers even trying to set up a thread here when there's no evidence this isn't like all the other downtimes meaning 4chan will be back in a few days at most. That's a rhethorical question, because I already answered it when I called you faggots entitled niggers.

I don't know if this site will thrive, but in the off chance that this is the one comic book death that actually is permanent, I'll be lingering around here on plus4chan and doing my part to make it worthwhile for all other /co/ntributors.
>>473794 >>473809 There's no point to yell about cartoons and comics if there's only 7 max people reading it. Can't go to xitter or discord without making a new account to be safe. Shit sucks now that I think about it.
>>473868 Ah yes, I figured it had to do with Faust not being involved. My standards are pretty low anyway since I've actively avoided anything pony-related during its prime. (I was one of those people who used to think it was fucking weird grown men were watching MLP, but nowadays I can sorta see why.)
>>473866 Tldr is that g4 was so genuinely good that anything after was gonna be a disappointment, and that wasn’t helped by the fact that g5 genuinely was disappointing and not very good
Image:174474746485.png(401kB, 910x1260)is it selfcest is she's your past life.png
Here's a drawing I was making when shit went down, it's unfinished, but I figure it's best to post it somewhere rather than leaving it to rot on my pc. >>473865 Swain? Is that you?
>>473871 Worst case scenario, there's a pinned feedback thread on /baw/. Give it a week or something. Blackhand dealt with the schizo trying to rig one of the first tourneys with a gorillion proxy votes and borderline doxxed him.
Threads doesn't have the 500/300 limit here, so toplessbot doesn't get to spam new threads ad nauseam every time he spams a thread to death.
>Standard 4MB limit on IMAGE board for fucking decades >No sound on most boards cause muh screamers or some other retarded, outdated reasoning >Allowed AI generals on every board >/co/ was outright dead or filled shipping faggotry >Biased, newfag staff Eat shit Hiro. Next time purge the moderation
>>473782 It’s all good, nothing user-based leaked. Not even possible to leak it Most likely /co/ will be back up tomorrow, in worst case scenario a week tops (if Hiro finally wants to update and remake 4chan, which he won’t)
>>473899 They're gonna need to update something to patch the security holes. If these fags have spent time researching the site then there's probably more weaknesses than you'd think. I think the shartyfags said that the FreeBSD software hasn't been updated since 2014
>>473901 To be honest, /co/ golden age was when zutara was considered the Deviantart mental illness it was. Shipping always brings off topic discussing, be it by porn begging, or fanfiction writers loyalty
My biggest problem with 4chan in general is the endless ritual posting. Every thread across the site is recycled content. My favorite threads are ones where people discuss topics you never see. For example, there was a thread about the trend of Saturday morning cartoons dying out, and someone posted an investor presentation for kids wb, which was wonderfully edited like the kids wb bumpers, complete with music and editing cartoons to be looking at demographic data on their computer and shit. I want more obscure content like that where you learn things you would otherwise never hear about.
>>473899 Why the fuck would a glownigger use a .gov mail for anything but internal communication. Using it for anything else would just be begging to get exposed.
>>473897 >>Allowed AI generals on every board I didn't like that either but you know those types will just post it in other threads so its better to just contain it.
>>473915 I have seen a lot of zombie threads with people resurecting 10+ year old subjects (sari sumdac, littlest petshop, etc), it really tells how uninteresting most of the modern stuff is imo. Autopilot threads are definitely a problem too. Like, ladybugs threads always feel like it's one guy repeating a thread from memory.
>>473919 AI should just have a containment board already Those fuckers killed /trash/, Early 2023 and earlier that board was amazing and then a dozen or so constant slop generals fucked it hard
>>473865 Oh hey, sup Swain. Lucky seeing you i promised to show you a comic of the full scene from the Anissa thread w/ Tails and Rouge https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/148039292/#148045838
>>473936 The deathbattle faggots have already arrived, and with the way they spam through threads multiple pages on /co/ are gonna be taken up with their garbage before long.
>>473924 >people resurecting 10+ year old subjects Cause old shit is good. Have you seen how all the new shows rely on ritual posting and shameless necrobumps just to stay on catalog? New shit has no staying power whatsoever
>>473915 4chan Prime is the way it is now because it stopped being a content creator and became a content aggregator circa 2016, seemingly with the approval and encouragement of staff.
Encouraging creativity on the site is apparently eschewed now in favor of finding ways to generate traffic and hence exposure to ads, which explains the proliferation of social media/news headline outrage bait threads and AI spamming.
>>473915 the other day i posted a thread on /mu/ about Sue Thompson (literallyhew singer who had several early '60s hits). it only got a couple replies while you can post the same Beatles or Taylor Shit spam threads ad infintium and they will always get 100+ replies.
>>473915 I've tried storytiming obscure comics under a set criteria to mixed results (though admittedly traction was surprisingly better than expected). Sometimes I wished Anons found out about said comics years earlier so they could've actually formed a cult following on /co/.
>>473954 content creation disminished as more and more people used their phone to post. You need a pc to make the slightest meme. AI became popular especially because you can do it on a phone browser.
>>473965 I fucking hate phonesposters, not only has it allowed the local lowest common denominator interact with boards in the worst way but increasingly easy access to them has brought more of the 3rd world into the digital world.
>>473858 I was wondering if I should make a /beg/ and /int/ refugee thread there, but I don't know how many other /ic/ anons are here, if any, and it's also a bit intimidating making threads.
>>473961 >Sometimes I wished Anons found out about said comics years earlier so they could've actually formed a cult following on /co/. So many obscure comics used to be storytimed on /co/ before CAPTCHA fucked everything.
Like if I hacked the site I would have gotten rid of the 900 sec post times, liberated some banned IPs/countries, deleted /pol/, /r9k/ and /mlp/...actually helpful stuff.
>>473999 >I would have gotten rid of the 900 sec post times, liberated some banned IPs/countries, deleted /pol/, /r9k/ and /mlp/...actually helpful stuff. That just sounds like 4chan.gay
>>473999 I would have made a /fur/ board. It needs to happen already, /co/ and /v/ have been filled with "She looks like she fucks human men" posting for years now, /trash/ is one of the fastest boards on the site from all of the furries.
>>473971 Literally every drawthread spammer is either a phoneposter (Toplessbot used to be even easier to spot because of his filenames), someone who writes in broken English, or both.
>>473997 storytimes are nice but take a lot of space. I don't really like coming into a board and see 5 threads in a row being just page dumps with dead links to other dumps. /a/ is like that now and it blows. It used to be a requirement to assume people read the classics. you aren't special if you repost 20 years old chapters of yotsuba
>>473895 Emails that belonged to the jannies were leaked as well as the entire janny board The emails seem to be personal ones (2 of them had the .edu domain) and Sharty users are now going after them and doxxing the jannies I speculate that by the time the site is back up and running, the (doxxed) jannies will be abandoning their positions en masse
at least the site didn't die while I was posting my series on /his/ about US presidential elections. i did have some problems because of various bans for unrelated reasons but i always managed to get the threads up all the way to 2000 the most recent election allowed on /his/.
You know what somebody needs to make on here? A reaction image thread. As long as we're going to be here might as well collect some new reaction images. Especially if ponies are allowed here, I haven't had ponies in my reaction image folder in many moons.
>>474008 This, people who say this don’t realize that they’re basically saying “ugh, this big concrete wall’s so ugly, let’s knock it down!” not comprehending that it’s a dam
i'm surprised at how the janitors have given up on stopping (SFW) loli threads on /co/ because in olden days Redwood would have deleted them instantly and banned you for pedophile trolling garbage.
>>473954 that's basically what happened. rapeape was practically on his knees trying to get advertisers back and letting funposts slide to drive up user engagement and views was it.
>>473975 yeah, the "Susan Storm actress is woke for saying her arc will talk about gender politics" as if it wasn't a constant complaint from female fans that villains focused her first for being the weakest link of the team.
>>473999 would've simply perma'd anyone that ever posted on /pol/ for the last 5yrs
>>473997 It's not just the captcha but also traction or rather lack off. It's demoralizing to try and get discussion going only for hardly anyone at all to show up and bump the thread let alone actually talk/commentate on said comic. I'll be honest, I don't like storytiming. At best it's just tedious and at worst it's a waste of time. There are a few comics I considered storytiming but felt they had problems outside of not being blue board material i.e. length. That said it does feel nice seeing an Anon actually enjoy whatever comic that does get storytimed.
>>473998 I will never for the life of me understand what the hell happened with dragonball threads on 4chan and /dbs/. It felt like one day, Dragonball was just a normal anime subject matter people talked about, then I woke up one day it was all "hallowed halls" and "scholars" and YABBA DABBA DOO! posting, on EVERY board. Seeing Sissy Freiza comic panels out in the wild of the internet. Like, how did things in that fandom even get to that point, it's like everyone collectively went insane while I wasn't looking.
>>474040 They probably realized that both mediums are so dead that a loliless /co/ would be about 5 posts long. but I agree, I'm sick of everything turning into lolithreads. And people pretending to like template kindergarten garbage just for this.
>>474057 > And people pretending to like template kindergarten garbage just for this. what about the people who waifu Lisa Simpson? they should all just be killed tbqh.
>>474059 Oh, this Maddie, I have no idea how this white woman could have anything to do with the black women threads but okay. Goo seems to be their favorite black girl anyway.
>>474056 Beating out /a/'s jannies caused an ego boost The real question is why the fuck did nobody on /co/'s moderation noticed a colony was forming and amputate it right away
>>474064 The basic vibe I'm getting is that Jap Moot is lazy, corrupt, and inept. I mean I think I knew all of that already, but I didn't realize it was this bad.
>>474056 It's weird as fuck. DragonBall super threads on /a/ are what got me to actually check out 4chan. I thought they were some scary hacker website and it turned out to be a really funny nerd forum, arguing over whether Freeza being in the tournament of power was some baseless rumor, or would really happen. I still remember that one guy's MSpaint drawings making fun of DragonBall super, those were great.
>>473994 >A few months ago a mod accidentally wiped all threads from all boards. This is what kills me, that we've been getting warnings and bans from people who are so incompetent that they nuked whole boards by mistake... and now we find out that they were also too stupid to update the software of the busiest imageboard site on the planet. You couldn't make this shit up!
>>474064 I am told it was some global "kill all threads" button they had in case of multi-board CP spamming or something and a mod accidentally clicked on it and wiped the entire site.
>>474056 It was ALL Jirenfag. A lot of people will never know or appreciate how he reinvented the landscape of funposting. They probably thought he was done for when they exposed him as a brony with that fucking selfie image but that just made him stronger. He was so funnily retarded and retardedly funny that everyone on /DBS/ decided they wanted to post like him from now on, forever
>>474079 Given that they recovered /po/ when it was wiped by spam once they probably have a backup but /f/'s posters can easily fill up /f/ again later in comparison.
>>474073 I got a ban for posting a lewd art delivery as a catbox link. Not being able to appeal 3-day bans is the most bullshit rule they have, because every ban I've ever gotten was a 3 day and almost half of them were completely unjustified
>>474077 Oh yeah, that one lady that used to self-insert as Spinel but self-inserts as Goo now. I mean, as long as there's OC made, I don't really care, let them have their fun.
>>474063 I'm pretty sure I actually saw him in a /vr/ thread where the subject of an alternate reality where Pokemon didn't exist was brought up. The "TMS" filename was a dead giveaway.
>>474083 Don't worry, appeal is always rejected anyway. They'd rather edit the rules to add a new number than admit you were doing legal things according to said rules.
>>474056 I was in DBS threads during the airing of Super from the Black Arc until slightly after the end of DBS in 2018, and it was with the Tournament of Power that the FUNNY levels really hit critical levels and you got the Jiren funposting. Strangely enough I recall a similar kind of posting preceding it in the form of Hunterscholars (for HxH), but applying the same shit to DB which is not as high brow made a more comical version of that. From there it kind of spiraled out of control. DBS memes before the ToP were basically constrained to Black, ZAMAS and NINGEN
>>474091 Tell them you were on a dynamic IP and caught someone else's ban. It often works; the mods have no way of knowing if you're bamboozling them with that.
>>474092 Also I swear it was the Gohan Blanco and spicposting that really brought every funposter's eye to DBS, cause after that the show's threads never recovered. The only normal DB thread since that were pretty much around Toriyama's passing and a few of the storytime threads afterward.
>>474019 Yeah one of my personal rules to storytiming is that I won't do >Marvel/DC superhero comics >Licensed comics >Anything that the board is already largely familiar with >Anything that was already storytimed within 5 years or more There might be some exceptions but my point was more to try and introduce to /co/ rather than remind
>>473866 >completely overwrites G4's happy ending with "actually everything fell apart because another villain tried the exact same scheme as the finale's villains and it worked this time somehow" >tries to be a follow-up to G4, but the questions and inconsistencies pile up to insane levels >the 3D series and 2d shorts couldn't even be consistent with each other >there's only three towns in all of Equestria >also the Easter Bunny exists because why not It was a colossal step backwards at pretty much every level.
Are we doing storytimes here tomorrow? It is a semen slurping week, so I wouldn't mind passing it.
>>474056 The short of it is Super broke everyone. People kept waiting for the anime to pick up because it's fucking DB but it wouldn't, by Zamasu most people became disheartened and the series became a punching bag, then came the multiverse tourney arc with Jiren as a thing and the thread digging up spic fanfic lore like Gohan Blanco, Grande Padre, etc, and it all spiraled out of control from there.
>>474057 >I'm sick of everything turning into lolithreads Same here. I'm aware that its a moot notion to have, especially considering where we are, but lolicons/pedocons truly are a cancerous bane to all of creative media. Anything they touch turns to shit instantly and they attract annoying faggots and third worlders like flies; it just ruins everyone elses time that isn't a dullard pervert.
If your IP was banned for proxy/VPN I think I know what happened.
>verify email >you have to wait 6 hours before you can verify that same email account again >if you don't you'll get a message saying you have to wait X hours before you can do this again >next time you post it will autoban any IPs that used that email account for 90 days
>>474083 3days are unappealable because otherwise they'd be swamped with appeals from whiny shitters that never bothered reading the faq and think being able to post at all times is a right and not a privilege. No one has died of a 3day vacation yet.
>>474091 >always rejected Technically not true. You just have to do it via mIRC. I once caught a 30day for a post sandwitched inbetween lee's spam. I got the ban lifted after a mIRC visit. Of course it probably helped that I can express myself in a manner that doesn't make me seem like a frothing 12 year old.
>>474126 I've known some cool and chill people/artists who are into lolicon/shotacon, but the people who make it their entire personality and do UUUOOOUUU posting are the most annoying people alive outside of furries.
>>474159 and they always do. And when one guy think he's being nice by drawing some fanart, the thread dies in infinite "what it that loli was the real mc and also a slut lol"
>>474126 >Anything they touch turns to shit instantly and they attract annoying faggots and third worlders like flies This is why I never bothered with Hilda threads, hardly any discussion about the actual show itself.
>>474083 Unrelated, but they also reduced the number of times you can submit questions via the feedback form per day from 3 to 1... I guess because they got tired of is asking them to actually do their fucking jobs.
>>474251 That's why I think it's funny to respond to those posts with running gags of Terri being destroyed, that's probably the most based thing about Gumball.
>>473722 I prefer it this way, it's interesting to see threads from far back as 2015. So i do hope the 4chan goes back up again because the longer it's down, the higher the chance some schizos find this place and ruins it.
>>474294 you could do "anime style" on public generator but you can't actually get any interesting characters by name unlike /co/ or /v/ for some reason. Always baffled me because dalle-mini could definitely recognize many popular anime, but not 3.
>>474295 It’s really funny that a bunch of xitterfags seem to think we’re going to migrate to xitter like the tumblroids did, I think they genuinely don’t know that there’s an entire ecosystem of altchans
>4chan was fucked because of an exploit to do with arbitrary code from PDF uploads on certain boards What a silly for it to be, though at least the person who set it up didn't seem to be too malicious about it? Here's hoping that the mods just patch up all the security holes over the next couple days and can bring it back online, cause they seem to have a lot of holes to fill.
To the anons complaining that 4chan being down is stopping them posting on an anonymous imageboard dedicated to comics & cartoons... What do you think you're doing right now?
>>474465 >The problem is simply that furries quickly get out of control and start unleashing sexual images and real degenerate trash. I don't know, experience says this is not a furry exclusive phenomenon.
>>473628 >>473665 Will all the jannies/mods effectively doxxed, I dread we are in for a long wait while Hiroshima removes the bodies and picks a new team.
>>474270 Because /a/'s the one board that actually gets active protection. Why do you think /co/ was infested with EvW spam threads and "honorary /co/" crap?
>>474663 Tech brainlet here. How do I save a page with this effect going on? I just downloaded the htm file, but there are no blimps or bombs in sight.
