This show is so good, man, why? it's just a dumb show about a girl teaching the meaning of words to toddlers it doesn't have nay right to be as good as it is.

Word Girl is a surprisingly good show. I wouldn't recommend it to people who don't generally like cartoons anyways but for cartoon lovers it has a certain adult wit to it that elevates it above other educational shows.

When the education part comes in, it's done tongue in cheek and enjoyable, so even if it's forced it's genuinely amusing to watch.

I particularly liked the kryptonite episode where Mr Big has her locked away and the lock can only be unlocked by her defining a certain word. The whole process is great for kids to understand how one can infer the meaning of a word from context, even if it's lame for an older person watching, but then highlights the silliness with the punchline of one of the prisoners having had a dictionary on him all this time!

i've rewatched one of its episodes recently, so i can tell that's it's still solid as it was years ago.

If she's Word Girl why are her superpowers being a superman?

Wouldn't powers related to the use of words make more sense.

Well, she is good at defining words, that could be considered a power.

It's what makes it funny, her knowing and defining words isn't that helpful on her actual fighting against evil. Wordgirl as a cartoon sounds like a preschool baby show but it's just a solid kids cartoon.
It's like if they wanted to make a funny super hero girl cartoon but the network wanted something educational so that was the compromise.
