The more I learn about Black Hat, the more he comes off as the creator’s overpowered edgy Gary Stu OC. Anyone else feel the same way?

Being overpowered unironically works for some villains. It makes them more intimidating, and if I remember rightly Black Hat isn't an antagonist so he's not getting into any blatantly unfair fights so it's easier to overlook.

Eh, I seen this once years ago and forgot it immediately. Same style of "aren't villains cool and quirky?" fan animation as Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. In fact, would not be surprised if they were from the same creator. Also had a lot of singing, if I recall right.

My problem is that I was expecting Blackhat to have a more prominent roll in the series but actually he's more like a support character while Demencia and Flug are the protagonists in reality.
