I had meant to do a few more clips from Love, Death and Robots just because a lot of the shorts look really cool. Like Suits, it looks great on multiple levels to just the art style to the entire country farmer with mechs fighting an alien invasion aesthetic
A second season was announced and while the first set is kind of hit and miss, it's probably a good thing overall. Even though a good number of them are just the same photorealistic cg art direction, it is nice to see a good handful of different art styles.
>>421451 Another cartoon that will permeate the dumbness that dinosaurs coexisted with humans. As if USA education was t already down the drain. I could not finish watching the trailer alone. Is there some story at all here, or will this just be brutal violent killings and buckets of blood for 20 minutes? Tartakowsky proved with the final Samurai Jack season that he DOES need to be reined in by a channel...
>>421406 Second half of the season was pretty good too. Elfo is totally half-ogre. And tge steampunk nation was cool and unexpected! Only now after watching so much What We Do In The Shadows and Twelve Forever did I realize the pig prince was voiced by Matt Berry.
>>421434 Oddjob got younger... and more androgynous. Frankly not blown away by the new Carmen Sandiego show, for starters she is no longer a villain at all...
>>421450 Yeah, try stabbing a crocodile with a stone spear in the head... Typical unrealistic but badass Tartakowsky stuff. Am I right to assume there is no dialogue at all in this show? They must have saved a lot on VAs. All they need is Frank Welker to do the grunts and animal sounds.
>>421483 With enough speed and proper technique you can stab almost anything with a stone spear. How else do you think people break boards with their bare hands? Toughness has almost nothing to do with it.
>>421482 Pretty much everyone who dislikes the new show says that. It's a reboot, it can do whatever it wants, including but not limited to making Carmen a hero. Not saying you have to like it.
>>421485 Yeah but at this point it has nothing to do with the original concept anymore. They might as well have invented their own adventurer thief character and made the show about her. At this point it is all about name recognition.
>>421502 I remember that... I always found it strange, I watched a ton of Looney Tunes shows, as well as most Hanna Barbera shows, and later on I find out that they were made in the 1940s to 70s. Cartoon Network was doing mostly reruns when it first started up and hadn't started doing original shows until 2-3 years later (while still doing tons of old shows inbetween).
>>421544 Eh, it's a movie almost as old as I am. That's like spoiling who Kaiser Soze is. Or that Luke is Vader's son. ;) I frankly much preferred the TV show after I read the book. The movie is more graphic but there is plenty of blood and death on the show too, they do not shy away from character deaths. And while more cartoony, I like that the rabbits each have different designs and are easier to tell apart. In the movie Campion and Vervain are basically clones.
>>421587 It means I encoded the 1080p download from MEN IN BLACK SEASON 1 INTRO (HD) with as much bitrate as fits 16 MB. It doesn't look upscaled, but I've no idea how YouTube processes uploads. To my eyes it could do with more frames to make it smoother.
>>421798 I didn't get what you were talking about until I rewatched the scene. But no, the adults are outside in the next scene so maybe they found the back door?
>>422329 I absolutely love VA BTS footage. The Ed, Edd n Eddy Mis-Edventures BTS video has most of them along with stories about people who found out. The footage of Kevin's voice is great.
>422398 I know it's the point Sherlock Holmes, but this is making the kids feel like idiots, and it makes them impatient. I'd friggin kill myself as a parent if my kid would shout at the friggin TV like a future president of the US.
>>422702 I don't get some CG animation companies. I understand why using low framerate helps with costs and time IN 2D, but a computer can generate in-betweens automatically. It's not that time consuming, why make 3D CG choppy???
>Whether you’re animating background characters or hero characters make sure to tell a story. They are alive. Even though you can hardly see them I wanted to show the faculty members entertaining themselves since they’ve had to sit thru dozens of these graduations.
It seems like there probably isn't going to be more paws of destiny. It's kind of a shame because it was pretty good so far, but I guess the power creep is kind of wild and another season may have gone a little too far off the rails
>>423611 Yep this is Lion Guard summed up perfectly. What a complete waste of a franchise. Y'think we could have gotten a proper sequel series that dealt with important themes and would have grabbed the heart of millions - nope, we get a stupid kiddie show with weaksauce villains and lots of terrible songs. Did I mentioned Scar came back from the dead as a flame in a volcano, spent a season doing basically nothing but promise things to come, then got literally defeated by RAIN? At least we got some cute lionesses out of this.
>>423615 I mean, in the end of the day it's just a semi-educational preschooler cartoon. You can't really do anything too violent to the ancient evil summoned from lion hell other than offer him compassion and summoning the elder gods to completely eradicate his immortal soul forever with a cleansing water.
The Lion Guard did some things right. 22 minute episodes, for starters, which not even Adventure Time or Regular Show managed to have. Season 2 onward also had a lot of continuity, and while the premise was always flawed and Mufasa's ghost constantly showing up to chat was ridiculous, it wasn't the worst thing in the world. After season two they also let the characters actually use their claws and teeth when fighting, as pretty much all of the fights in season one were done with tackles and headbutts.
>>423621 Yeah, pretty much. Would not mind it if it was some spinoff that would be about characters in the background, like the third movie was, that did not really harm the story of the other movies. But this one basically makes us have to pretend that all this time Simba had a son, not to mention how it gives magical abilities to lions and makes Scar's turn to evil be caused by... a snakebite? UGH. >>423622 Yeah, I do wish the 22 minute format came back. I mean what's stopping kids from just leaving after a 10 minute one, and not seeing commercials? Y'd think the channels would want to go back to it too. But I guess kids are too ADHD these days for it. But seriously the last season made me bang my head against the wall, with the ridiculous nonsense geography. Like, they get to Asia and then the North Pole (they meet a friggin' polar bear!!!) in a few episodes from Africa??? Last I seen such terrible lack of geographical knowledge was 10.000 BC, but then again Emmerich is a known idiot.
>>423634 Well remember, it's still an educational show for baby preschoolers, they were still under contract to keep delivering fun facts about different species of animals so they turned the spirit quest into a world tour so they could have some more animals to deliver fun facts about.
>>423644 Yeah I guessed they had to. But in practice the whole "lions rule everyone and save the animals they are actually gonna eat later" stuff in this show made no sense. Made sense with Timon and Pumbaa in the movie where Simba learns to subsist on bugs, but here, the Lion Guard being composed of animals that are often the prey of lions, or competing predators (Fuli)... was just weird. But yeah I know, I expected too much from a kiddie show. Same reason why I was disappointed in Teen Titans Go, though that was a far far worse one.
>>424068 Lobo used the scorpion bugs to kill his own planet because it was faster than choking 6 billion czarnians to death one by one. But against a fighter of his own strength? He'd want to play punch punch, not use a magic ring to take them out.
>>424255 FUCK' OATH THAT DERRO MUST BE FUCKIN' MUNTED, AYE? LET'S BASH THE CUNT. That's a 'yeah nah' from me. From that clip it looks like a waste of good talent, unfortunately.
