>>241025 It was made so that everyone loves it, not just us furfag creeps. That's why it feels boring, without edge and already got a shitty fanbase. Typical Disney nowadays. It's Tangled and Frozen all over again and looks, despite they are animals, exactly the same (except here it's more confortable, on humans those faces look disturbing).
Harmless, no controversy. Maybe at the end GASP sisters will kissing! Or GASP the fox is the villian all along and the sloth scene already spoils how he wants to sabotage her police work! SO new! SO unexpected! No wonder they keep having more success than Dreamworks, with their stupid trailers which don't actually lie what movies are about.
>>241032 No, I mean "with ANYTHING interesting making it stand out from the others". And I'm not talking about "OH SHIT the princess has to be kissed by a woman! YES that will show you, men! This will be all over my tumblr!"
Bit odd though that it seems Shakira-gazelle lady is the only animal female in this universe who has boobs (as evident in the scenes where the animals go "naturelle"...
>>241418 My point is that updating their toolset could make them stand up against the CGI crowd. Titmouse made some awesome tools for working in flash. Seen plenty that use Digital Animation to make some great animations. And that is why needs to be showcased to the executives that are still decades behind in their thinking on what traditional animation would take.
If Walt was around and knew he could condense some of the animation procedure to just on just one instrument (table with digitizer) I think he'd be all for it.
>>241423 Between kids and their moms, I'll be sitting there with a pokerface and a boner hidden under my popcorn bag, winking at the other perverted fucks sitting in the audience.
Just saw the trailers for the first time (I missed the hype train) and this show is baiting every audience. And that is not a bad thing at all.
>personal struggles vs "you can accomplish anything" disney feel >legitimate feminism >good cop bad cop form a deep relationship >mafia family plays a role >simple slapstick/fun comedy (for the kids) >lots of anthro animals (great for kids and furries. you know they know it)
and that's just from first glance. Honestly, I will be surprised if they fit all the stuff I've seen into one 2hr movie. It seems a little bit of everything. I completely understand the hype. It's the next Frozen for sure still haven't seen frozen lol, but i went to a general on /trash/ once and they were cool.
>>241930 Actually that also makes me wonder if Birds have their own society too, since Zootopia is made up of mammals. Maybe it's called Buenos Aves or something.
Wow, I knew animals was a metaphor for racism, but It's shockingly up front about it. Literally; I could hear actual shock from the adults in the theater.
>>242057 It's kind of hard to discuss the symbolism and/or message of a movie without discussing the real world problems that one suspects it is commenting on. You pretty much have to put your fingers in your ears and shout "THIS MOVIE WASN'T WRITTEN BY HUMANS LIVING IN THE HUMAN WORLD AND REACTING TO THE REALITY THEY LIVE IN, IT IS A DOCUMENTARY FROM AN ALTERNATE REALITY AND EVERYTHING IN IT IS COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO THE REAL WORLD."
It's also a movie about how great smart phones are and how useful it is that Apple added a built in feature to iOS to turn on the camera flash so you always have a flashlight on you.
>>242164 Ugh, the two on the right are way too stereotypical donut steels compared to Gazelle. At least the types of furries that show up in Zootopia showed some restraint with the designs instead of being dolled up like scenesters.
Well, I finally saw it in cinema. It lived up to the hype.
Brilliant animation, well-written, funny jokes both advanced and for kids without much reliance on slapstick or Ice-Age cheesy humour, and not too in-your-face with messages while still being good for the children.
I knew it would be somewhat dark in places due to the trailer, but the bright cynicism right off the bat was right down my alley. Some bits were predictable but likewise some predictions were averted. Overall, 9/10, will show to my children if I ever have any. Maybe I'll even buy this movie, who knows?
>>242481 >LEGALLY Did you pirate it before? Where from? I could only find ones that commenters all said were shitty visuals and audio. It's half the reason I actually went out and saw it in cinema.
>I still wanted to [x] the [y]. Good, it wasn't just me. Go kids, and whatever, but it wasn't great.
He's taking the characters seriously and writing new, in-character dialogue for them as they discuss a subject in a mature manner.
If he wanted to make porn of them he could sign it with "Tigerskunk", like he does when he makes porn of other copyrighted characters. He's not playing coy or beating around the bush, he wants to try to create some quality fan material based on a movie he loves.
Yes, God forbid he draw clean fanart of a movie he liked. He should do porn just so you’ll be happy. He should cater exclusively to you. Why isn’t he doing what you want him to do, huh? What makes his desire to draw clean Zootopia fanart more important than your desire to see him draw smutty Zootopia fanart?
Go sit on a giant ice cube for ten hours and think about how much of an entitled ass you’ve been.
>>242658 This is, I kid you not, the first non-sappy, non-vomit inducing SFW fanart of Zootopia I've ever seen. And I see that shit every 5 seconds, literally.
Is Officer Judy Hopps unlawful good? >insubordinate to ranking officer >tells other officers she 'has dibs' on a criminal >commits blackmail twice (ice cream parlour, Nick Wilde) >commits entrapment (Nick's trespass on Tundra Town Limo Service) >commits criminal trespass to a vehicle (entering limousine sans warrant, admits she needs probable cause to enter property but has none for the limo) >trespass to Cliffside might be a search with probable cause? >entrapment (kidnap and torture of Duke Weaselton) >vehicle theft (train) >assault and/or manslaughter (kicking a ram off a moving train) >trespass (the museum was clearly closed for renovations)
