>>236141 Dat changeling. Dat Gummy. Dat Sweetie Drops/Bon Bon secret identity + Celestia has secret government ageneies?! Dat Celestia/Luna bickering. Dat Steven Magnet callback to Rarity's generosity in episode 2. Dat everything.
>>236245 >>236246 Anybody else miss Luna's Ye Olde English jargon from Luna Eclipsed? It was kind of hokey, and it makes sense that she would mellow out after a while, but I thought it was fun.
>>236496 Twilight overworked due to princess duties during a summit and stayed awake for 3 days straight. She collapsed and he's been entrusted to make sure she gets some rest by keeping things quiet.
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2wmc8z_mlp-season-5-amending-fences-ep-12_animals They not only did a huge callback to the first episode, they made an entire episode around it! This is definitively one, if not, the best episode of this season so far.
I’m pretty sure Larson meant it as a rib at the expense of the animation crew vis-á-vis their reusing assets for shots featuring large groups of background ponies.
What was that one article that detailed how Hasbro is generally not happy with their audience not being consistent with their demographic? Something about the series having adult fans was seen as being a bad thing, at least as far as business goes.
>>237817 You don't need an article. It is no secret that executives want to be in complete control over who consumes their products. Only the creators themselves don't give a fuck and want everyone to love their work.
>>237824 Mostly great, but that one part when one participant decided that fullscreen effect is achieved by squishing a widescreen source, and NOT by cropping, was one colossal fail.
>>238160 Anyone know how to fix this Amazon Underground version of the game with BlueStacks? It's running fine except the top bit of the screen is cropped out so I can't see the bits/gems/level info.
>>238186 Dashie is annoyed by cute stuff while living in a friggin town named Cloudsdale where they brew friggin Rainbows and its full of ponies and the friggin ground is full of cute animals and don't get me started on the other villiagesAH! DAMNIT this show went full retard after season 2 and this is just another proof!
MLP episode criticizing focus group testing and mass marketing was unexpected. I like episodes like this one and Suited for Success that are about what professional creators need to deal with from clients/consumers.
And it helps that Rarity is cutest marshmallow pony.
And I almost thought there was no MLP thread here...
Yeah, great episode. I kinda get both Rarity and Sassy - frankly, Rarity should have expected what would happen, but she had no experience in selling to a large market in a big city, living in a small town she probably knows all the inhabitants of. And yeah, doing the same thing over and over again is also why I don't play MMOs, so I can relate. If my job was like that, I'd go crazy. On the other hand, Sassy (btw, love the character design... she looks a bit more horse-like and less pony) also did her best and could not have known or expected Rarity not to understand. I loved the background ponies, Goth Pony and Sunny were awesome.
>>238391 If the next two are going to be as solid as this one, then I'll welcome your new overpony. Specially since the third one will be rarijack fodder for the masses.
>>238400 I'm happy they didn't make Sassy an outright villain which would have been so easy to do in a story like this. She was genuinely trying to help Rarity and make her business succeed. They just disagreed with what sort of business they wanted.
Friendship Games isn't even out yet... and the soundtrack is on Amazon. Spoiler heavy, you can tell what the general plot will be from some of the songs.
>>238806 >Shy makes weeaboo art Ha! This show continues to be alright this season.
That crystal table doesn't seem to be getting much use though. They made such a big deal about it in the beginning, but so far there's only been like 2/3 episodes on it
In a matter of a week, we got the expected two episodes, a leaked episode, and the movie. So many ponies.
The rarijack episode was the weakest of the three Rarity episodes IMO. Kind of boring. The serenity prayer was a pretty good moral to teach kids. But man was there a dearth of good jokes. The play was too long. They laid the moral on THICK, even for MLP.
So according to Equestria Twilight, she couldn't make it on time because of a time travel loop, meaning that the season finale is pretty much as I imagined. I will enjoy Starlight Glimmer downfall, as much as I enjoyed Reverse Flash's downfall as well. And yeah, while it feels like an stretched regular episode, it was good. Too bad there wasn't too many focus on the rest of Crystal Prep, I'm pretty interested on knowing more about the other girls, this anti-Mane Six had a lot of possibilities. I still wonder if we're gonna get an EQG show after the main show ends.
Another one of those vlogs. You don't have to watch all of it (or like it), but you MUST see the intro, which is the first 30 seconds: //youtube.com/watch?v=8zShWaHVHxQ
>>239293 I would have preferred they didn't share the shield at all. It's a creepy implication that all three got basically the same cutie mark. Like Fate or Destiny determined they can never stop being friends, ever. Not even the mane6, the show's epitome of friendship, shares cutie mark designs.
>>239294 Well I don't much care for the implication that marks designate your fate for the rest of your life anyway. As if you couldn't develop a new talent and pursue new ventures later in life. Far as the designs go for the sake of the show as it stands, I think it works well enough that they share it.
>>239311 It's shark jumping (yeah... I know it's a cartoon) and putting slapstick in it ALL the time... and those wings on Twilight... no. I refuse.
>>239312 Most likely, I've seen that asshole in action. And Kayla. Their shit behaviour and their scum fanbases. Both terrible people. And all their fans should be ashamed.
>>239315 I can actually sympathize. When I first saw the Season 3 finale, I thought Twilight becoming an alicorn princess was really dumb. And if the show ended right then, I would still think that. But it didn't and, much to my surprise, Twilight being a princess actually lead into some really good stories, and the overall quality of the show has gone nowhere but up since she got her wings. Honestly, after hearing all these people praise Seasons 4 and 5, still refusing to watch the show and writing it off as trash is just stupid. You're not hating it because it's bad, you're hating it because it's different.
How retarded is it to be forced to like shit everyone likes, because the majority of mankind is stupid? That means I have to like Littlest Cash-in, Homesuck, Understory or how that garbage is called that floods Paheal with boring crap, Minecraft, ...
I'm too old to follow everything people want me to.
>>239351 Yeah, well maybe you can just stick to the stuff you like then. No one's forcing any of this on you. At best you're just overhearing conversations
Dude, you’re being kinda dumb here. Nobody is forcing you to like pones, Homestuck, Undertale, Twilight, Fury Road, the NFL, or whatever else is “mainstream” or “popular”. If you don’t like or don’t want to follow something, it isn’t really that hard to tell people you don’t like or don’t want to follow the thing. If they can’t respect that, that is their problem—and if they stop talking to you or whatever because of that lack of shared interest, you’ll probably be better off without them in your life.
>>239351 Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this not you?
>>239309 >Which brings me to the question why you still watch that trash? It ends after Season 2. Fact.
You specifically came into this thread to criticize others for watching the show and to make authoritative claims about how bad it is. Now here you are admitting you don't watch the show and playing the victim because apparently you are being "forced" to like the show by "people."
If you lost interest in the show after Season 2, fine. If you kept watching decided Seasons 3-5 weren't good, fine. But don't comment on the quality of something you've never seen, and don't get angry when someone recommends something to you because they think it's good.
Greetings, fellow restless specters of miniature pastel-coloured horse connoisseurs. With at least two months of hiatus looming over us, there appear to be no avenues to get my fix, and so I came seeking your aid.
On a more serious note: I usually avoided most non-cartoon stuff because either quality wasn't on par with FiM itself or because it just wasn't my cup of tea. From what I read about the comics, I'll have to continue to avoid them, unfortunately. Them contradicting the main source of canon is bad enough just by itself, and then there are things like political messages and other horrors I desire not to deal with. EqGs are out of question, as is anything else nohooves. No offense meant, just not my thing.
So what options does it leave me with? I remember Anthologies being pretty good, but to get many of the jokes from more recent ones I'd have to have been following sites like EqD and the like faithfully, which I never did. Any new universally praised fan works as of late?
Also, I've seen mentions of a movie here and there. Should I be worried?
>>236277 Yes, I do. RCV could still have uses for recreational purposes occasionally, and even for it's primary purpose should the need arise.
What's that, their kid? :D I do hope they are not gonna make a Rarity/Ember/Spike love triangle. But I did love the episode, great designs and finally we get to see more dragons, plus Ember had a nice story arc of proving herself to her father but also overcoming the racial bias of dragons against helping each other.
>>242694 >overcoming the racial bias of dragons against helping each other How is helping each other "racial bias"?? I know you are trying your best, but perhaps you should improve your English.
