You gotta wonder about the Goebelins graduates sometimes. What their dreams are. If this is truly what they wanted to do when they did their student films.
That animation is really good. It does not try to be a clone of live action, and MOVES like animation should move, instead is copying real life by resorting to motion capture.
Will have to actually watch it to see if the writing is as good.
>>234673 lots of gobelin students ends up working for the big american companies. Or smaller studios that deliver stuff like Ernest and Celestine. Or work in the vidya. I don't think Gobelins students are unhappy, their diploma and school name sells.
The animation is okay, pretty jerky at some points. It also felt like it would have been better to linger on some scenes, like it was trying to do too many things too quickly.
All the characters are either idiotic or bland.
Nothing special, but not the worst thing ever, I suppose.
>>234683 Seeing some dubbed stuff on youtube, the writing is definitely more focused on marketing collectible doodads to les jeune-uns than storytelling, typical Beyblade/Slugterra stuff. The artstyle and animation quality is definitely endearing, though.
>>234673 Ehhh...it pays the bills, and if it's successful and moves lots of merchandise it gets Gobelins alumni one step closer to funding the dream projects they always wanted to work on.
>>234693 I know the girls characters are over sexualized, but they are sooooo sexy. I do "fistful of yen pics", and when I saw the first episode (especially the girl in blue that I do not remember the name) I knew I was going to take a lot of this show. I think that the creators saw the amount of R34 images and other cartoons have thought they are successful because of it, when in fact it is the opposite, they have much R34, because they are successful.
But I think when someone offers you sexy characters, there is no shame in making them R34

>>234696 >I know the girls characters are over sexualized, but they are sooooo sexy. I don't think they are - the character designs are sensible and consistent with the rest of the visual style of the show. It doesn't feel gratuitous, it feels like something a girl living in that world would wear.
>>234701 Agreed, I'm not really seeing how the designs themselves are all that sexualized. I haven't seen the show in motion beyond the bits in this thread so maybe it's more the situations, poses, or camera angles they get in?
