One concept I always thought would be funny was the idea of Starscream being in charge of the Combaticons and realizing that being in charge of a large group of bizarre personalities like the decepticons isn't all its cracked up to be.
>>227471 You need to be more spesific about whats wrong with it. Atlest it better then the human main MAN with spacegun poster I saw in the cinima. Also: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/official-age-of-extinction-dinobots-slog-and-snarl-toy-images/30190/ Yes~ >>227466 Hell yeah it does! And what an issue, the "oh fuck me!'s" just kept coming.
>>227482 And due to them being robot dinosaurs there's more leeway with regards to accuracy to their source material, which hopefully results in better engineering. Like more poseability or limbs that are actually limbs Remember how the first Jazz figure looked like a thalidomide baby because of his officially licensed Pontiac headlight arms?
>>227482 To bad they will be faded and grey in the moive given some preview pics... Will still try to buy them all if I get the money. Then have them fighting the Beast Hunters Preadacons side by side all the cyberverse. It will looks so nice~!
Ohh I love the Trailer, how much will this run you think? I see Magnus in EVA-2 Bumblebee being 00 or Maybe Arcee in the Blue 00 Deco and maybe Grimlock in the EVA 3 Pinks.
>>227722 Personally I think he is better at review toys then making comics. http://www.shortpacked.com/blog.php Just read how hype he is over Dispensor.
>>227814 I hope you say that after watching said review and not just my word alone. Transformers 4: Age of Extinct… I mean they are not even out here in Sweden yet. Or atlest not the ones I want...

>>228072 Copypasta from /tfg/ about that: >The ironic thing about Costa is that the stuff he professed a hatred of was also the stuff he was best at. The highest points of his run were when he'd zoom in on one character and then analyzed them - Hot Rod in space, Thundercracker discovering humanity, Starscream musing on his fuckups, Ironhide wandering around Cybertron. The worst parts of his runs were his attempts to do GI Joe-ish plots - Spike, North Korea, the Megatron guns, and so on.
I only posted new Generations. There are no new-mold AoE Generations toys, just a Crosshairs repaints and a few cool looking Platinum sets. More simple toys too, but I neither mind them nor are interested in them.
It seems like damming with faint praise or outright sarcasm when I say the best looking toy is a retool of a 2012 deluxe, but Chromia looks really good to me. (If you look close she's a retool of Prime Arcee. Exact same chest and lower legs.)
I'm not BLOWN AWAY by anything, but there's enough here for me to enjoy. I think this is probably all the Generations stuff they have ready to show and if we see any new stuff at SDCC it'll be early protos of the new Robots in Disguise toys.
Oh, and [spoiler]2015's Generations theme will be Combiners, and they showed a blacked out silhouette of Superion[/spoilers]
>>228072 >>228083 Oh man, did I write that while asleep? Because that's exactly right. Ironhide's still my favorite IDW Transformers book and I scratch my head how the same guy wrote that and International Indecent at the same time.
Too many seekers, but aside from that nothing grabs me like Thrustinator did last year. They do use a lot of minicons though, so that's cool. This guy is the kind of nuts thing that a collecotrs club should probably do anyway. his tentative name is "Serpent O.R."
>>228165 I tried to wright the why but was too tired...(local time was 00:10) I just like how SF made it sound like KP was worse then RotF. Because really it is.
>>228284 I hope that doesn't come as a surprise. People hate to think and Bay provides the perfect outlet for the brainsoft public to soak up his spectacle. To put it bluntly, no one wants art and academia in their summer entertainment, they just want jingly keys.
>>228294 It's a joke regarding how whenever people seem to bring up feminism, reproductive rights, sexual assault statistics etc. there's always someone on tumblr or twitter or something that feels that they have to state the obvious by saying "No all men rape women/oppose birth control/etc etc etc".
The joke is that Optimus has legit reasons for leaving Earth, but the guy for some reason decides to point out that, rather than admitting they are legit concerns, that NOT all men are responsible, implying that Optimus is exaggerating/whining.
The fucked part is that the joke would have been funnier if he'd said "Not *all* humans."
Done like this, it weakens the joke both in terms of his response to Optimus making less sense (Optimus didn't say "man" or "mankind," he said "humans,") and in terms of the issue he's trying to make a point about by completely lacking any subtlety or finesse.
>>228411 I've been following the stratospheric growth of China's box office as a bit of a hobby. As I understand it, for an entire generation of kids who grew up in the '80s with no one to play with thanks to the One Child Policy, Transformers was pretty much the ONLY cartoon being shown on television (China's economy was only just starting to open up). Now these kids are all grown up and are stupidly loyal to the brand that saw them through many a lonesome Chinese night.
It's pretty incredible that it's grossing more in China than in the United States, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. Even Pacific Rim only just pipped it.
I liked it! Maybe better then Godzilla but I need to rewatch both to know for sure...
BUT thats may just be me being on the same wave as Bay when it come to "fuck pepole, blow it ALL up! ADHD FTW ROAR!". Masterbetory? I love doing that! And knowing who the Transformers are and wanting the toys helps. I got sad, not in a "B'AAWWW" way, more a "aww that sucks" way when they killed Ratchet and Leadfoot.
The human were less annoying and not as much stupid bullshit.(Robot dog > fucking dogs) Plus playing Bay-bingo is so much fun! http://chezapocalypse.com/michael-bay-bingo/
Thing I did not like... The "nano-parts-forming", could have been a fun gimmick for say Sting, but they over do it... They dont even use it to dough shit. And the Creators retcon fuck up my beloved movie comic but if they turn out to be Quintessons I MAY be okay with it. Also Prime should have turned into a Spaceship slash Movie 1 Protoform Pod at the end, now he just look silly. And Crosshairs calls Scorn for Spike, FOUR FUCKING MOVIE AND BAY STILL GETS THE NAMNS WRONG! Or it could just have been a joke but fuck...
And before I turn my PC off: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-age-of-extinction-concept-art-from-wesley-burt/30723/ http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-age-of-extinction-concept-art-from-ken-christiansen/30735/ Alest there was talen some where in the making of this movie! >>228444 Yeah but GEEWUNers whining about all the new stuff is something I dont have patience for in this day and age.
Like being pissy about Drift(a new fresh transformer who gets accurately portrayed, even if he is even more of a weeaboo) not being Springer or that Frank has gotten to old for the G1 Megatron voice and will never be a big star even with all the roles he has played...
>>228445 Yea I love Welker and his Prime Incarnation rivals all the others. But I understand he cannot do that high raspy Megatron anymore, since it shreds his freaking throat.
//youtube.com/watch?v=S58wgEVXDAQ Has that Transformers Cybertron feel. Hopefully the savings made in the animation will let us have more characters. And that the old humans has a role in the story.
Also more toy pics: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/sdcc-2014-coverage-official-images-of-generations-combiner-wars-aerialbots-and-stunticons/30904/ http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/sdcc-2014-coverage-official-hasbro-product-images-robots-in-disguise/30905/ So do any of you think that Bumblebee looks like the Prime RiD Vehicon?
I like the look. A bit more cel shady than Prime but the overall feel is there. Probably be a bit smoother without the web compression. It looks to be interesting like Bee is just settling into being an Elite Guard Beat Cop on Cybertron when this whole stuff starts going down. Heading to earth I can pretty much count on Team Prime showing up at some point. Maybe just Miko Raph and Jack but maybe Bulk and Arcee too as things get serious.

>>230300 I have a conspiracy theory that Bay dont want IDW to show him up again so no comic. But thats just me, and its not stopping the brits Titan comic.
>>230362 Well, the Dark of the Moon comic previews on amazon spoiled a lot of the plot from said movie, so maybe Bay decided to make sure that didn't happened again. Also, the comics tend to give him the finger.
>>230391 Its not like they don't play their stuff on Cartoon Network Internationally, Brace for Pony. Also the king putz that messed them over last time isn't around anymore.
>>230392 Pony will apparently stay where it is. The reason for the Transformers move is that the Hub/Discovery Family/Whatever has become too girl-oriented.
they needed that one channel back so badly for some reason doubt they were getting any less from any other Discovery "name" pay channel. Ah well their loss on Transformers. Especially since ratings were going up per year although slowly.
>>230567 I like it, Great name on Lobster bot. Overall looks good still has some of the Prime Flavor but not as gloomy. I've heard they may bring some Team Prime cameos in for the second season. I expect Ratchet to show up at some point since he's still kicking around on earth.
>I'm not going to cover the comics books and such Understandable, since how messy the comics tend to be and that would take some time to... >So I don't have to talk about Kiss Players you silly pedo boys, I am so clever!
Careful there Ms. Ellis, your smugness and self-righteousness is showing.
Any TF fans still here? So, we have Combiner Wars, Victory guys coming in to the comics, the new RiD cartoon and its FCBD issue, and Optimus making his debut in Transformers vs GI Joe. Am I all caught up with TF comics/cartoon news?
>>232717 Depends on where you are. It's out digitally in China. France gets it in February. Someone confirmed Cartoon Network in other countries announced it in March. I couldn't find word on the US release, but if it's the same debut for all Cartoon Network, my guess is March this year, at latest.
Got any good pirate comic download sites, lost my link when my laptop died... So that I can keep up.
Also did I rant about how non of the cool movie toy got released here in sweden. Just the fucking kids stuff, and that would be okay if I got my deluxe and voyagers. But nooo~
And me moving have messed up my paypal so forget importing.
*sigh*
Well hopefull RiD will get me some good Cyberverse-like toy. At a desent price, ofcourse.

>>233441 >You can only vote by using that adware for mobiles >it isn't even compatible with mine Dammit Hasbro, I just want my female combiner named Victorious with an independent personality and with a fierce rivalry with Galvatronus.
>>233599 I can never get those because I never get enough of the whole story with them. I mean its a good start but my local turned into a gaming cafe, a damn fine one but it no longer has comics.

So I guess they would have called the bad guys in the new cartoon the Predacons, but it's in continuity with Prime which used that named for a different group.
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25793523 So, RiD2k15 just premiered in Japan and as usual, we got an animesque OP and ED sequences. OP show us a shadowy figure on the 'cons side that looks like Galvatron?, and the ED just went full Super Sentai with Bumble-team dancing. Hopefully, they'll gonna be a youtube version of this soon.
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/paramount-looks-to-expand-transformers-film-franchise-with-spinoffs-and-more-sequels/32544/ Hope this means we can get atlest one movie thats good for real now.
>>234599 I don't know why he's there either. The implication is that that he joined up with them at some point, but who knows if there's an episode where we see it. Steeljaw might've recruited him immediately when he saw the badge, though.
>>234964 We've always known Optimus had some kind of mystical mission and was still around somehow in ghostly form. This is only now just being introduced. This also isn't the first time they're showing stuff that suggests stuff has been happening off screen.
>>235075 Still dont make his introduction any less confusing... But you know who is going to get a good introduction? http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/female-autobot-windblade-to-debut-in-transformers-robots-in-disguise-cartoon/32749/
Anyway, thanks to a deal on the dvds, I'm watching Prime again. And I most say that in the 14 eps RiD has it have done alot more, is doing what its trying to do very well and more robots per episode. But MAN does Prime looks better, has that more adult tone I like more then the kiddy stuff RiD is doing(same why I like 200x TMNT better then nicks) and I do miss crazy punk ass Miko. That batshit bitch could get the plot rolling everytime.
Hope what they said about Prime character showing up for season 2 turn out to be true. And that GENERAL Fowler show Steeljaw why you dont fuck with earth. Then the Autobots need to save the cons from the humans. That could be a fun twist before whatever Micronus is going on about happens. Bet is unicron related somehow.
Also STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMEN STANDING ON EACH OTHER'S SHOULDERS! http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/fan-built-combiner-victorion-to-be-comprised-of-6-female-transformers/32748/
>>235094 I think one of the problems with the writing so far seems to be these big jumps that don't happen on screen. I may have to eat my words if they are just airing things out of order.
Also, yeah, one of the advantages to the the limited cast and locations of Prime was the nice quality of the aesthetics and the quality of the animation shows in later episodes, Some people harp on the story, but it is just a matter of tastes, and season 3 had Hasbro interference to blame. Personally, I think it's better after watching it a second time, and Miko's a far better character in episodes where she gets more focus.
I wouldn't hold my breath on Prime characters showing up in season 2, especially if they still want to keep what year it is as ambiguous as possible. Then again, I could be wrong. They wanted to keep the show as separate as they can from Prime due to a new audience, but I think they've put a decent foundation right now. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Steeljaw's master plan does involve something outrageous like trying to release Unicron somehow.
>>235463 I'd be excited to see something like that, partially because I like the idea, partially because I want to see fan backlash from people upset their headcanon got contradicted. Then again, we already have the IDW Bayverse spinoff stuff that covered that.
>>235686 If it really is a spinoff and the rumors are true that it will be animated, it has a chance. Without Bay, there's less a chance to fuck it up. Of course, there's always the chance it's going to be bad, it just would take extra effort to be as bad as the main movies.
Good or bad, I doubt the fanbase would be happy with it.
http://www.allspark.com/content/2015/06/sdcc-2015-transformers-exclusives-from-hasbro-officially-revealed/ Even if I already have Arcee, I really want that black redeco. Plus, I don't have neither Chromia or Windblade, even if most of reviews consider it as a "meh" figure the latter.
>>235906 That Blackarachnia reminds me of the animated one.
>>236112 It was hilarious and kind of sad at the same time.
>>236123 The next issue is going to be interesting. I'm glad they're dealing with the fallout of the event separately. The end to the action was pretty abrupt.
All the RiD episode are up at http://steeljaw.co.vu/post/112286180340/rid-episodes-masterpost (know the link has already been posted but I wanna save you time) Better get watching so we can talk spoilers later~
http://transformers.hasbro.com/en-us/videos Not sure if anyone saw, but new shorts are up on the Hasbro site where the other shorts were. Additionally, someone put up some scrapped shorts that couldn't get finished, which got shown during Botcon
>>237241 Wish I could find some HD version of the show. Those late season team members seem rather enjoyable. Also Windblade and her Sailor Scout Transformation is very nice.
>>237241 Even if she was strong enough a character to hold her own series, it's was an odd title. There isn't really a precedent for a TF ongoing to have a character name for a title, especially a new one like hers. Even if it weren't the case, I have read comics where the book really wasn't about the title character. Windblade having her own ongoing came out of left field, though.
My main problem is with her appearance, really. Why does she look like a geisha mixed with a kabuki actress? And the katana and the hair-like helmet? She was fan-created, but nowhere did anyone vote for that part. And then they went and introduced her by giving her a mini-series... It's sheer writing talent on the author's part that it did not all end like Drift's introduction. Sadly, she seems to have fallen on the other side of the horse - and made Windblade unremarkable. I hope the various new planets they will visit will introduce new and interesting characters, like they already did with Moonracer and Knockout.
>>237235 Oh wow, really? And just when the books was starting to get better, don't get me wrong, vol. 01 was fine except by the fact that Windblade was a compelte pushover, and everyone else shined IN HER OWN TITLE. It's funny how different Scott writes her (naive and optimistic), as compared to Barber.
>>237282 The first mini series was always planned for the fan created character, no matter how they turned out. When I first read it, I did get the feeling they were trying to steer away from the Drift approach and maybe went in the opposite direction. Personally, I think it works since she was planned to stick around and show she was in for more development down the line.
>>237291 Considering that there's been back and forth about whether Windblade vol. 2 would be an ongoing or not, I wonder if vol. 2 was only meant to be a mini for Combiner Wars and then became a placeholder for the actual planned ongoing coming out. I might be in the minority for this, but for all the ways Scott and Barber handled the character, I do think there's good and bad to both of them.

>>239805 It all because of this webcomic. http://tf.takaratomy.co.jp/toy/event/2014/06/web.html
Ummm... Better check the wiki too for the full story. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Legends_(comic) >As is to be expected, the characterizations for the cast are derived from the Japanese version of Beast Wars and Beast Machines. In most instances, these characterizations were extremely different from their Western counterparts. As such, some of the "gags" might fly over the heads of those unacquainted with the radically different Japanese version of the show. Okay then. >Nightscream is portrayed this way because in the dub of Beast Machines he was played as a flaming homosexual with a highly effeminate manner of speaking. Wut... No really and its worries then you think.
>>239808 Yeah, that is typical japanese messed up stuff... And yes, I know BW in Japan was a joke, especially Rattrap, but still... I am guessing they at least got over the fact that Airrazor is a girl, right? And they did not even make the Slipstream comic about her and the other Starscream clones? Missed opportunity. Nightbird seems to have a pentchant for ending up in suggestive poses. Are these really the comics they give out with the toys? Y'know, for kids?!?
>I am guessing they at least got over the fact that Airrazor is a girl, right? In a manga after she got a toy with titts, yes. Was she useless eye candy that need saving all the time? Yes. Thats why the Legend comic keeps make the "the ambiguously gender duo" joke with her and Nightscream.(who was basicly hardgay in the BM dub)
Also is not OG Dragonball a kids manga? Just sayian.

LG-15 Nightbird Shadow Sequel" (LG-15ナイトバードシャドウ後日談) Part 1 Having read up on Nightbird Shadow's creation at the hands of a Japanese scientist, Rattrap asks the ninja why she turns into a car now. She explains (through writing, being mute) that she learned to transform by training under the Six Clan, ninjas able to transform into six different modes, on their planet. However, they didn't actually teach her to turn into a car, but rather an unimpressive "swan" mode that Rattrap points out anyone can position themselves into. Continuing her story, Nightbird Shadow claims to have had two disciples, Road Rocket and Road Pig, who became enemies because of a dispute over their master. Rattrap grows unsure if he can believe anything Nightbird says, to which she responds that ninjas are always mysterious. Part 2 The male employees of Tera-Kura Co. are swooning over Slipstream and Blackarachnia, not paying any attention to the hard-working Nightbird Shadow until she takes off her mask for a breather, revealing a cute face underneath. Taken by her cuteness, they immediately begin producing mask-less versions of Tera-Kura's Nightbird clones.

>>241429 To be honest, the way MTMTE #48 was paced and written, I'm really scared that it's gonna sound more like fan fiction. JR said he had his reasons to write #48 the way it was but still....That transition from #47 to #48 is the worst payoff I've read in a good while.
Seriously, what was the point in making this new character, Sunder, and making him have the power to pretty much telepathically mind rape people? Just for Skids to magically remember his lost memories? Ugh. I feel like there could've been a better way to do that.
And bringing back Froid? Really?! Of all the characters....JR wanted to use Froid? I'm predicting he's going to be dead in the next issue. Because that whole subplot came out of nowhere and it's going to be resolved as quickly as it came.
I know it's been weeks since MTMTE #48 but I'm still hung up on this.
