>>227307 Yea and Likely that won't be a while since they've still got the ghost in the valley to deal with and then Robocult coming out of the Kissing. Or he might just dick about with side plots for a year before going back to that. One of the things that makes it hard to me to really stick with to for long.
While Poppy on the other hand. Pretty stoked and eager for next Wed. Really digging the Black and White as much as the Color. If he ever gets to the point of a collected Kickstarter with full art pluses. I'm on board from word go.
>>227336 I would say that some humor could help break the pace a bit. But as we just saw all the humor possible characters are getting ousted. Unless Paz comes in and has turned into a Mako parody.
>>227494 Yeah, and the best part is that while she clearly KNOWS all this stuff, she's not giving in to the self-indulgent urge to just dump the info on us. It's all alluded to naturally by the characters, as though it were part of their world.
http://www.awkwardzombie.com/index.php?comic=060214 >Now that I have my degree in mechanical engineering, I'm starting a new job building spaceship parts (I AM INCREDIBLY SERIOUS), and have just finished moving from New York to Wisconsin to do that! Our little Katie is all grown up, +/co/. ;_;
Yes because a thrice-weekly comic that isn't action-packed at the moment is the same as a comic that updates with a page every few months if you're lucky.
Bunker, how are you always the most grating type of Gunnerkrigg Court fan? it's a talent, I swear.
>>227853 >Although it's more like "Oh hey I completely forgot about that let's see how it's doing." This is why I like it when slow sites, like Lackadaisy, have RSS feeds. Then I can just add it to my reader and have a pleasant surprise every few months when it updates.
Lottie didn't like how the blonde girl was bullying her French friend, so she basically insulted her in front of all of her friends. Camille responded to this the only sane way possible: dating the new King of the Mods, and using his minions to burn down their Mystery Shed as part of her plan to ruin Lottie's life out of spite...
...Really when you're making that Selkie girl look emotionally balanced in contrast, you've probably got some issues.
>>227984 this is the weirdest opinion to give an artist when it comes to someone who creates and is attempting to make a living off original content. "dont go on this website you might get actually feed back on it" >>227972 tumblrs entire purpose is to share content rapidly to a multitude of diverse audiences. if you want to start up a webcomic with a real chance of roping in people who are actively looking for new webcomics to read instead of people who accidentally stumble across it, tumblr is the better bet. i usually tag my updates with #webcomic #webcomics and #comciname deviantart is getting increasingly overtly evil with its user policies and paywalls tbh. tumblr at least recognizes that the majority of its users are high profile content creators and has changed their policies to reflect that and protect them. hope that helps.
>>228006 Some are saying its a Wedding Ceremony, I think its more the official passing of the torch since the last time he showed up it was without approval.
>>228129 well, she's smoking near explosives there, so her awesomeness is probably why she died. I just hope it ended up being a huge firework and not shit like slipping on dog shit or shocking on a piece of meat.
>>228181 We know there is some kinda coming storm. Likely something they aren't really thinking about. Consequences of retrieving the Arrow, The Forest Army getting restless again, Robot and his growing Cult. Possible action from other Courts even.
That would be a wild shift say bridge gets Bombed stranding the Guardian and the Mediums in the Forest to form a defense to an invasion on that front. Likewise breaches in city proper and attacks springing up there. Everyone freaking for a couple of chapters not knowing who is dead or alive.
Paranatural is a special kind of webcomic that makes me like every single character in it, even when they've only been in the comic for one page and their faces are obscured.
>>228299 Mildred's taking some sort of special tests this week. There was a blurb at the bottom of the comic explaining it, but apparently it was alluded to earlier in the comic as well.
>>228324 It's true, and it's incredibly impressive to me that Zack's able to keep that up. I was having a discussion with someone the other day about Paranatural, and at first I had said that the best character was Mr. Spender....but then every time someone mentioned another character I had to allow that "that character is also the best character." It's ridiculous that he's able to make every character so entertaining.

Poppy O'Possum threads on /co/ are triggering the fluffy sensors in mods, and there is a full blown fluffy war! Perfectly fine posts are deleted left and right, and people are getting b&
Having said that, latest page. Go check the comic's site to read the... the whole thing.
>>228398 So, he isn't working on Spinerette anymore? I wonder if he is ever gonna finish that furry porn comic he had a long time ago. Also, that looks interesting.
>Meanwhile on tumblr's gunnerkrigg tag >oh no tom siddell please don’t use unnecessary forced magic bullshit excuses to introduce a trans character to the cast, you really don’t need to do that, i mean really, please, don’t >mfw
>>228777 Yea she's good enough to stick to just here for now. I do like the story with this one. I hope next week shows her making a good go of it with the stage show. Maybe the Wolf Mama showing up to say how proud she is.
>Thank you so much for your support and involvement over all this time. Writing and drawing BitF over the past six-and-a-half years (!!) has been a heck of a great experience, but it’s with a bittersweet feeling in the pit of my gut that I’m making this announcement today. Brawl in the Family will be ending later this year. Today’s strip is not the last comic, though! We’ll still be updating for a couple more months!
Well, that's a sad. While his updates have been more sporadic as late, he's still been the best comic for clean humor (though you'd need to get the Nintendo references to understand most of his comics) on the web. I can't fault him for wanting to go out while things are still chummy; better than to drag it on for year after year into a decaying mess (*cough*Sluggy Freelance*cough*). While he still has a bit more to go (including, hopefully, one final Christmas carol), I wish him the best in his other pursuits.
>>228791 Not sure what's more shocking, seeing Zimmy hanging off of Jack, or seeing her in something other than that grungy uniform for the first time.
>>228791 That can't be Zimmy. Also is it just me or does Jack suddenly look 10 years older? it doesn't feel like the rest of the cast has aged thaaaat much.
>>228795 Annie looked like she was twenty something a few times when she was dealing with Mort while Kat still looked like a young girl. Maybe its some kinda emphasis. And where did he find a Goth? Maybe another shocker is it will turn out to be Zimmy. Make Kat doubt her relationship with Paz a bit for reasons.
>>228812 Poppy are still some of the best organized right now talking about the world and what may happen and what the function of such and such is (with maybe a little bit of shipping jokes). Court ones seem to go with "Are there lesbians..never mind" Little talk about the current what ifs but not really going that deep. Maybe it'll pick up when Paz shows up and Kat goes back to being awkward in public with affection.
Speaking of Poppy, page 2 of the update was her showing off her Super Mom powers.
>>228979 Ah good no sad Annie, interestingly advanced looking robots compared to the ramshackle look they have back in the court. And of course the monitor is tagging along to make sure the kids stay out of trouble. Wonder of there will be pirates or something.
I can't believe it took me this long to figure it out. Shauna gets kicked out of her band because of the riots. Suddenly Yumi Aoki appears out of nowhere to lead the rockers. Now she's nowhere to be found when the mods are all gathered in one place.
This whole thing is going to end in tears isn't it.
>>229138 I've heard people suggest this before, but it doesn't really check out with me. Mostly because it doesn't seem like Shauna to encourage gang violence like that, at least not for reasons like that. But maybe there's a "why" we haven't herd yet.
>>229139 I hadn't thought of the Shauna angle (actually, at first I thought she was Lottie), but I definitely feel like Aoki is up to something other than what she is publicly stating her intentions to be.
I'd say that it was Camille, prolonging the war in order to keep her hold over the new Mod King and his "subjects", but she seemed to know a lot more about UK motorcycle testing than I'd expect for someone who'd only been in the country for a week or so.
i wrote and thumbnailed the most recent paradox space comic so you should all look at it with your eyes http://www.paradoxspace.com/can-town-in-trouble/1
>Thermohalia >Really nice art style, story might be interesting >Artist gives it up after doing 8 strips/pages because she made the story when she was 15 and doesn't like the story anymore Well. If she didn't have enough interest going in to even do stuff ahead of time, the story would probably have sucked in the long run.
>>229316 Paz gonna wants to cut a rug but its too much pressure for Kat? Or will Jack collapse back into madness because some Cosmic Owl brought the other girl on board.
>>229332 Just setting up for a scene, also Kat is wearing possible brawler attire. One doesn't dress like Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse and not have to rip some throats out.
I am not sure how do I feel at Kat continually being depicted as "the guy" of the couple. It is a stereotype after all, and something boring that everybody does while depicting lesbians in a serious relationship.
>>229335 it seems to swing back and forth a bit, maybe she's working out where she feels most comfortable. She's always been a tomboy even before Paz. And they are all still pretty young and things like feminity haven't really been an interest to Kat save that period when she was trying too hard to be girly. Though Kat could be wearing a brighter shirt maybe something with some nice stitching.
>>229335 I think it's just for the dance, it relies on the coordinated moments of both partners but typically you need a lead and stereotypical male and female attire is a good way to signify that.
>>229337 Maybe get some of the Galacian stuff in with the dancing bit. Their dress does fit the usual form for it. Nice bit of dancing before things go off the rails on the high seas.
If you say so, she is wearing the shoes for Salsa. Paz has been teaching her off panel I bet. So much of their relationship happens that way it seems.
Or Alternatively Kat is on the boat to work for the summer and hasn't told anyone yet. The newer robots got to her. Interesting design on them though with the featureless heads and the more refined forms. I'm still hoping for Pirates in this chapter. Can we have fun pirates involved with cruise ships after all the stuff that has happened in recent years?
>>229471 I like that he has a grasp on how dangerous the situation can become, and likely will. Jack is getting riled because his Zimmy sense is tingling. Be funny if Paz and Kat were dancing in the background just as all hell comes down on the boat.
He made a Wallpaper for the Ferguson thing, people on both sides started flinging shit about stuff. Some asshat is trying to get him with some rumor he sends dick pictures to people. Bunch of crap so he's stepping out of the social scene for a bit.
>>229480 >Some asshat is trying to get him with some rumor he sends dick pictures to people.
Considering the writers of Comic Alliance and others who work in the comic book industry are discussing the matter, it's wouldn't surprise me if there was truth to that rumor. Similarly to how everyone involved with the animation industry knew about Skyler Page's dirty little secret.
>>229484 Maybe though the way the one guy keeps phrasing it on Twitter makes it questionable. "Hey have they mentioned such and such yet?" Is kinda the leading thing people use to start a rumor.
This is like the third time Three Panel Soul has changed their RSS feed location (well, back in January), and every time I fail to notice and go months without realizing it because the updates are sporadic. Which is unfortunate, because I rather enjoy it, yet somehow I keep forgetting it exists if something doesn't remind me.
Also Newblur sucks for notifying you if a feed address fails FOR 8 MONTHS IN A ROW.
>>229480 >Bunch of crap so he's stepping out of the social scene for a bit. Not far enough apparently.
https://www.facebook.com/jl8comiclol/posts/609660459154583 >My mom just informed me that people are calling HER HOME, LOOKING FOR ME, AND LEAVING THREATENING MESSAGES ON HER ANSWERING MACHINE.
Though to be honest I wouldn't be blown away if he actually is sending pictures. It would be unfortunate, but not surprising that someone who's work seems to be "wholesome" has devilish side.
>>229489 Thats normal. I'd like to end up doing kids comics at some point in the future, but at the moment I'm actually currently getting some nice cash doing loli and shota stuff.
>Over the last few days, Yale Stewart has been accused of sending unsolicited, lewd images of himself to peers in the comics community. These accusations are true.
>For those of you who know me, I hope you are willing to take my word on this. I hope you know that I would not say something this serious without being absolutely certain. For the rest of you, I can be found anywhere on the web. I do not hide my face or my name anywhere I go. I recognize that there will be a negative response to this post and I am willing to stand by every word of it. Yale Stewart sent pictures of his penis to women. Yale Stewart sexually harassed women. Yale Stewart has frightened and hurt women.
. . .
>The expectation is that the women harassed by Yale Stewart come forward before anyone acknowledges his action. The support and acknowledgement of comics journalists and professionals with nothing to gain is not enough. The public has made it clear that the women must step forward for this to be taken seriously. And by “the public”, I mostly mean men. The people defending Yale Stewart and demanding that the women step forward are mostly men, the people with the least to fear from this sort of behavior.
>But how can we expect women to speak up when men show so little support to those who do so?
. . .
>When something like this happens, it’s not enough to simply say nothing. We have to say something. We have to defend the victims even if we don’t know who they are. We have to show them support and let them know that we can create a safe space. There are a lot of bad guys attacking the women who are brave enough to come forward and point out the men who are attacking or harassing them. And we cannot simply ignore them. We have to speak up and support those who come forward and defend those who are unable to do so. That’s not because it’s chivalrous or they can’t defend themselves. It’s because it’s the right thing to do.
>>229501 While I agree that anyone who received those images will get little support from Yale's male fan base and that women are unfairly attacked and targeted when they try to stand up for themselves, I disagree with the implication that rumors and hearsay are enough. As has been shown more than a few times in the past few weeks, the internet can be a seething cesspit of evil, and rumors can take on a life of their own. The combination of pseudo-anonymity and global audience means that things like this spread like wildfire, and if something becomes repeated enough it can appear as fact to the unwashed masses. Combined with the ease of backlash that men have received over false charges of rape or pedophilia--even if fully acquitted in the long run, and the apparent lack of empathy for their plight--makes a lot of people (myself included) unwilling to just accept a statement by someone I don't know, even this guy who attaches his name to his posts.
It's good that he is willing to stand by his words, but he doesn't say that he received the images himself, that he's seen the images himself, or even that he knows someone who has received one of the images. I can fully understand if the women in question don't want to step forward (as he said, they will most certainly be targeted by the misguided and trollish, who will paint them as the aggressors and Yale as the victim), but if there's not even someone who will speak in their place (as in, they know one or more of the women personally or were hired to be a representative) then it's still just a rumor mill, and this guy adds nothing but more pathos to the situation.
As always, the reverse must be considered: If one or more men were being harassed by a woman sending them pictures of her vagina, would their predicament even be considered without a victim revealing himself? And even if they did, they would find little support, most people (men and women) just calling them "lucky" and/or telling them it's No Big Deal. Make no mistake, male dominance in society does make the women receiving dick pictures a larger problem (the sender using that extra leverage to exert power), but the reaction to the opposite situation would be so little as to be non-existent.
>>229510 >I can fully understand if the women in question don't want to step forward (as he said, they will most certainly be targeted by the misguided and trollish, who will paint them as the aggressors and Yale as the victim),
I don't. They are perfectly willing to say the worst to him and his mother, but don't want to suffer the slightest comment on their own? Fuck that shit.
Furthermore, on the off chance that one of those women are reading this, I encourage them to file charges. If they are being harassed they need to shut him down, and the largest amount of power they can bring to bear is through the legal system. By filing charges they will have to reveal themselves, yes, but unfortunately the hounding of the internet and Social Justice Warriors will somehow stamp out this kind of bullshit antics. Maybe they'll get to a point where he's hounded out of the industry, but to keep incidents from repeating they need to show there are real consequences to this.
That's not to say that the legal system will be their best friends in this; if they get male prosecutors/detectives it's likely that their story will be taken just as skeptically as the internet has, though they will get past that when the real investigation begins.
As an example, the Civil Rights movement didn't succeed just because people marched in the streets and penned long exposes in newspapers, but also went to court over various laws (Jim Crow) and got a lot of things overturned at the SC. If women want to make a serious dent in this they have to go after the problem from as many angles as possible.
>>229512 hate to tell you this but if you called the cops and told them you were sent a picture of a dick on your phone i can guarantee they would give absolutely no shits at all. your idealized vision of bringing this guy to justice by a group of women willing to sacrifice their careers and get the eternal stamp of "victim" labeled on them is basically the opposite of what happens in the real world. which sucks, majorly. >>229511 youre conflating the women who got dick pics with people sending him rl death threats when evidence (he posted about the death threats long before this news even broke) would suggest the two are unrelated
on a much happier note, look at this really cute comic about a girl who is traveling with her pet manta ray while drawing owls i found http://otusopus.smackjeeves.com/
>>229511 I highly, highly doubt that those who are calling his mom are also the women he sent pictures to. In fact, I'd bet my life that they're not.
>>229513 I don't think that's the full truth; if it had been a matter of misunderstandings, it would have been more understandable and he should have admitted it up front rather than try to get it covered up. That he put off doing so makes me think he realized he wasn't getting away with it and tried to paint it in a less-negative light.
>>229519 >hate to tell you this but if you called the cops and told them you were sent a picture of a dick on your phone i can guarantee they would give absolutely no shits at all. Agreed; that's not what I meant. I was thinking more along the lines of going to a DA or detective directly (fuck da police), or perhaps just filing a civil suit.
>basically the opposite of what happens in the real world I'm not saying they'd win, or that they'd come out of it clean even if they did. It would take a number of such actions to really get these kind of men to change. Consider Anthony Weiner: He sent dickpics to many women, denied it, admitted it and denied he would do it again, and then he did it again, while trying to run for a different political position. And now? All I know is that his last attempt to re-enter politics bombed (thanks to doing it again), but I bet he's not hurting in life. Public humiliation and hounding will work on some people, but not most, especially if they have some sort of psychological disposition.
It's unfortunate, but a few cases brought to success will do more than 100 years of a million people shaming those who do this kind of stuff. That does mean a multitude of cases that will fail, and the women who bring them harassed.
https://www.facebook.com/jl8comiclol/posts/610390275748268 >However, and MOST importantly: I am the ONLY PARTY who should be receiving ANY blame in this matter. I am the one who sent pictures to women who didn't wish to receive them. The only reason I've mentioned that it was a misunderstanding is because I certainly don't want people to think this is something I would do had I known it would offend the involved parties. The fact that it was a misunderstanding DOES NOT belittle the severity of what I've done.
At least he's telling the misogynists to back the fuck off.
